I work for a company that manufactures audio and visual equipment. The difference between analog and digital audio is a big sticking point.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I have a DAC > Amp > Ortho headphones. I love good audio. Too bad I keep hearing clicking noises... is it the music tracks or...?

Do one on electrostatic speakers. That'll blow your fuckin mind. Seriously, they're amazing.

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

I love how they reproduce low frequencies.

My coworker just told me about these. Hes building a pair himself. They are amazing.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are they like Monsoon flat panel speakers? Had some years ago, loved them.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

^This.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got to listen to a pair on a weekly basis for a class I took. The homework was to bring a good song to listen to. Great class.

I have a pair in my house, the second pair I've owned. They're really something amazing.

Hello physics igcse

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Speakers make no sound at all. They vibrate the air into a sound wave. You hear vibrated air.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Well that's a dumb thing to say. Sound IS vibrations in air. If speakers vibrate air, then they make sound CAUSE THOSE ARE THE SAME THING.

I'm currently writing a paper on this! So thanks for the help!

If you dig hi-fi, check out Van Alstine audio. He's a semi-local guy by me, and I've had some interesting chats with him about his designs

Always happy to help with audio stuff

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about if you don't mind me asking? Speakers have always been in large interest of mine and I love learning more about them.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I can only encourage you to go build one !It's really easy if you understand how it works, using salvage stuff or even stuff you have at home

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I haven't built any drivers but I have some speaker cabinet building experience. A few floor standing speaker systems, bookshelfs, car

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kick panels, A pillar tweeter mounts, etc.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm talking about the raw electronics, IE the drivers

Pick up a book on audio engineering at your local library or watch some videos on youtube. Shit's cray. I went to college for it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Seriously it's magic. But... controllable magic.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I went to school for it for a few years but stopped going when I only had my gen-eds left. Big fan of the Loudspeaker Design Cookbook

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Loudspeaker cookbook is definitely great. It was the biggest key for me to learn how to design and machine my own motor designs.
