Everyone was okay (no idea about the fire they were responding to though)

Hate makes your life harder

I wonder how far that other ladder extends

#8 I need to understand how it got there in the first place. A already know not to attach a tow chain to an axle assembly.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#6 that was probably the best possible outcome of the potential fails.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#2 lucky there were no electric vehicles involved because I heard that they are really dangerous in fires. Not like gasoline powered which are perfectly OK. No danger at all.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't watch videos of people getting hurt. It makes me nauseous. The funny thing is I'm a nurse practitioner and I work in an Urgent Care. I suture people, reduce fractures, cut into abscesses with scalpels, remove skin tags and moles with injecting lidocaine and just cutting them off with scissors and it doesn't bother me at all. But I watch this stuff and no...

#10 good thing he’s wearing a shorts! Or the lower guy be getting a fancy hat

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#6 maybe he’s a Buffalo Bills fan?

#10 gay sex is weird

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

What an incredibel response time. They got their before the fire even started

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just wanna say that I look forward to your posts every morning. They start my day off right. Thank you.

Same same

#4 - how weak are his legs that he couldn't climb that short distance without collapsing? I've got a fragged hip & knee from a car crash and I coulda made that without needing a break.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a similar ladder (the one leaning against the side of the house nor being used), and it would be tall enough to reach the gutters.

1 year ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

That other ladder just chilling there makes this video that bit extra special.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

#8 reminds me of that one map on Vigilante8, I miss the nostalgia of that game back then

#7 i did something similar once. Didn't get it checked but pretty sure I cracked my tailbone. Pain for years.

that run motion with the arms moving the way they do unnaturally, definitely reminds me of some animated thing but I cannot for the life of me recall it

#8 And now everyone downstream has water contaminated with diesel fuel, diesel oil, and transmission lubricants.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

#6 If your ladder isn't tall enough for the job, don't try to be smart and do something stupid like that, buy a bigger ladder. I guarantee it's cheaper than what this dude had to pay.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

There’s a folded ladder visible just around the corner that when unfolded and extended should be more than adequate

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#6 Dude, be careful, you almost hit the dog!

#4 It's kind of disturbing how many people are just ready to assume this person is a bigot. Maybe they're working on themselves and taking the big steps as a quick workout. Maybe they are a bigot. We can't know from just that video. But just assuming based on this is absolutely brain-broken insanity. It really is no different than conservatives being crazy about their shit and overreacting.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I'm pretty sure the caption is just a joke. But considering he seems like he's on death's door and just keeps going, whatever he's going through, he's determined, I'll give him that.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The caption, sure, but almost every other comment about that video is assuming the person is a bigot, one comment even hoped someone would spit in his face.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's just unfortunately how the internet is. No one means it, though. Not any more than they ACTUALLY mean it when they say they'll punch a nazi in the face. 9 times out of 10, they'd just look away and hope someone else does something about it. We all talk the trashiest shit on the internet, but we're all too fucking chicken shit to do anything anymore.

Rag doll physics engine seems to be dialed in fairly well.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I was scared she slammed her head on the bench and it bounced, but I THINK it was just plain gravity.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I replayed it a few times to check, she hit the table with her hand to help break her fall.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#3 Fuckin' career-ender.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#4 I’d climb the big stairs too. Not because I oppose the gay stairs, but because it looks fun to try.

1 year ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Same. Assuming this is at a college, I would've done the big stairs at least a couple of times just for the fun of it. After that, I'd probably use the regular stairs for the ease of use. Nothing to do with my being an ally. Just being a dumb kid.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It also looks WAY easier than the ordeal the guy in the clip seems to be going through.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

May have asthma or something. I have it, to the point I am severely out of shape because I can't do even basic exercises. Going up my stairs at home feels much like what he looks like he's going through, lol.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure it's staged. They're likely exaggerating to humiliate the bigots even more. Always ask yourself: Who is filming this and why?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd make someone film me doing it just because it's funny. Probably isn't as performative as people are thinking. But anyway, my asthma is dying just thinking about it, I must go.

#5 reminds me of some drunken nights where I put a clove in my mouth backwards and lit the filter.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mmm cloves, coffee and angst. I remember that taste.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That moment of horror when you taste that stinging smoke of burning filter... I remember.

#8 there's gotta be an easier way to fill water tankers.

1 year ago | Likes 175 Dislikes 0

We lost four more men on this expedition

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do this in Farming Simulator

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Gotta be an easier way to tow them out too. Perhaps they could design a couple of hooks that bolt directly to the frame. Maybe near the front.. perhaps they could put a couple holes in the bumper so they would be recessed and not catch on stuff...

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You can lead a tanker to water, but you can't make it drink.

1 year ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Never stand near a cable being pulled like that. I once almost got cut in half when it broke and whipped so fast all I hear was 'snap'...

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is the only way.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

This is the way

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#8 what moron hooked the towline to the front axle and not the frame that is very clearly visible where a bumper would normally be?

1 year ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

To be fair, if I were left to do this, and the first youtube video failed to warn me; I might have done that.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Those morons?

1 year ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

I mean, you're not wrong.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Those people also standing dangerously close to a towline under tension.

1 year ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

You mean the People Cutter 9000?

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

2 half humans are technically still 1 human. Yes that one.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#7 might have fractured their tailbone or some spinal vertebrae.

1 year ago | Likes 275 Dislikes 2

He might not have broken anything.
I miss the time that comments were better than the shared content.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I almost broke mine in the exact same stupid situation. Threw up from the pain, nauseous and was down for probably 1.5h before I could continue.. Lessons learned that day.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I felt that in my back and I didn’t like it

1 year ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 0

Yup, I've done that on ice without all that additional air. It's incredibly painful for weeks. I hope they are ok.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same here, still can't sit for long

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The ol mid-air backstroke. Hopefully the person had youth, cartilage, and flexibility on their side.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I broke my back literally the exact same way. Kinda nice to now have an example vid for when people ask. Technically it was a compression fracture. Several of the lumber vertebrae between L1 and L5. I didn’t speed check and overshot the landing by about 20 feet…not to brag but I think the jump I got was a bit higher. I’m lucky to still be walking

1 year ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I can verify that that is very painful. I nearly vomited with the pain.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

#10 might have some fractured vertebrae as well.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Def compressed his low back vertebrae.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oi, me coccyx

1 year ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Yup. I've done that from standing height and couldn't run for a week, poor guys gonna be hurting lol

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea, I feel bad and sometimes audibly wince at ski/snowboard accidents like that. I broke my knee skiing (nothing crazy, skiing run within my ability, shit happens) and it suckssss. Will never be 100% or the other knee which had to compensate and also got screwed up as a result. AWESOME sports, tough injuries tho.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seems like it. But he could've been lucky. The snow was that hard compacted yet and was compressed by his butt, as evidences by the butt print.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or to give it the full medical title: ouchy butt

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gonna be sore in the morning.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My money is on compression fracture in the thoracic or upper lumbar.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That one was not any sort of schadenfreude. He's just a guy doing what he's supposed to be doing in the place he's supposed to be doing it in and not sticking a landing. I feel bad for him.

1 year ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

It's a rough sport. I am sure he is not surprised this happened.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sure, but I don't want to revel in his misfortune. That's what schadenfreude is. Just cause injury is likely to happen doesn't make it funny to me.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ya I find it funny until you hear the thump on his tail bone.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At least his non-spinal vertebrae are probably fine.

1 year ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

I see what you did here

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

There are cervical and sacral vertebrae too

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Never heard of spinal vertebrae. There are cervical (neck), thoracic (chest), lumbar (lower back), sacral (in humans usually fused into a single bone) and the coccygeal vertebrae (coccyx = tailbone).

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

My original use of "spinal vertebrae" is a sort of mistranslation since English is not my native language.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah that's a hard hit. At least it doesn't look ice-hard. Gives a little so with some luck he might not have been injured too badly

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Jarring, probably not serious injury. If he's young enough he's fine. If he's older, he'll be fine today, and he'll feel it like crazy in the next couple of days

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I knew a person who landed on their butt like that and fractured vertebrae in their early 20s. Though they possibly fell on harder ground, but not much faster, it was a hard parachute landing.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I fell in that position from 24 ft, compressed 4 vertebra and broke my back, I was in my 30's. There was maybe 4-5 inches of snow on the ground, didn't cushion the fall though. I'm a carpenter so I get the occasional sore back but for the most part I manage.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm assuming, but more so hoping, that the crater made by his butt helped alleviate some of the impact pressure. And yeah I'm basing this off nothing but my memory of falling on snow. Only time I've ever got air like that was by accident, but also on fresh powder. So it was a lot of fun. Nothing like this.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#3 this rustles my ligaments.

1 year ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 0

The sound was the best part. But yeah, ouch.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This kills the ankles.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Got that “Girl Wears Shoes- Ankle Breaking” kink?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah I'ma just crawl back into bed, not move for about an hour and lie here contemplating how happy I am my ankles are still with me after just watching that.
Fuck me runnin that's some serious PT & ER time stackin up right there.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I jst beat a transformers game yesterday, so i liked

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had something similar happen in 2020, while running, in regular old running shoes, on asphalt. I thought I accidentally hit a pothole. Turns out the stuff that does the cris-cross applesauce over/under and behind your foot/ankle took a permanent vacation. Took 6 months learn how to walk again after 2 days of trying to be a big girl and walk it off.

1 year ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

On May First, 2018, I sprained my ankle trying to jog.
I don't have any idea what happened, one moment I was exercising, and the next I felt like I was hit by a baseball bat in the Achille's tendon, and fell on my face.
I didn't enjoy walking home... or much of anything for months.
That ankle is still weak.
I married a marathon runner, though, so I may try running again.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah it's not fun. I can walk and trail and bike, but it took years to be able to do any of that for any length of time, and it hurts for days after when it gets sore. Did a doc say what exactly happened to it? and good luck with your running, you got this!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That sounds really, really painful!

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Your foot is now fine again?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean it's fine, but I never ran again, never surfed again. A couple of times a month, the tendons decide to become just a bit too tight and snap back into place after catching in the wrong position. But yeah, it's fine.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#2 Not the fure truck's fault; SUV ran into them instead of giving way.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not enough information. While you should give way, it's still the responsibility of the fire truck to make sure that people are giving way and that they know they should. Can't tell what it looked like from the SUV's point of view and if they could see the truck or if it was a blind intersection or something.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They went through an intersection at speed tho. Didn't even slow at down to safely cross

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Thats what fire trucks're supposed to do when they have lights and sirens on.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

They always slow down and look both ways at intersections. They're not supposed to just gamble on everyone hearing them around corners.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They still have to safely transverse the intersection. They can't just blow through a red light and assume everyone sees them and will stop. The video is proof

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's literally the law to give way, so yes, they can absolutely do this, lol.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And I guess then they crash into a gas station

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They have a device that turns all their lights green. They don’t blow through red lights. That’s what they are saying is that the truck went through a red. “Opticom"; it's a system that uses infrared light emitted from the emergency vehicle to communicate with the traffic signal controller, effectively changing the light to green when the vehicle is nearing an intersection. “
