"And as long as you do not wish to take, you will receive" sound like a quote from an epic book

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Well thought out & worth the read. Thanks!

10/10 would drink with Garg in a tavern.

10 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Garg is my new hero.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I LOVE GARG. This reminds me of my half-orc barbarian, Gug, who thought he was a paladin. Gug do good.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'M not crying, YOU're crying!

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Does spell resistance apply to these feels?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My Paladin is named Gmike, pronounced Mike, and he swings his Gsword. No joke. Lowest intelligence in the group

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

They call 'em Paladunce for a reason.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He's an orc it all makes sense his gcharisma is like super high though for some reason.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

expecting a line about ogres and onions, came away with just onions in front of my monitor

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Nothing could save me from these feels.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Your Will save is insufficient.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This needs to be a children's book. I wanna know who the author is so I can do the illustrations!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wow. I'm going to absolutely steal this next time I DM/want to roll a really *off* character. That is 10/10 amazing.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"I laughed so hard, I peed," said a guy

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

....screamed the stable boy.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is what I like about DnD: you can create characters that are truly unique and not just a combination of race and classes feature.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Garg for President. He smashes because he cares.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Holy shit, I'm soooo happy that I took the time to read this. :)

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So this is the milk of human kindness.

10 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 1

+1 Fallout 4 reference.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

It's obvious not lockpicking.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Definitely a 5/7 story.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

...I love google.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's probably my favorite reference, and I almost certainly use it too often

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I understand this reference.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I love that Garg gains intelligence as time passes in the sword's presence. Garg's grammar gets better as well as sentence structure.

10 years ago | Likes 238 Dislikes 0

He did a lot of sidequests... bound to have some stat gains as he levels.

10 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

Well, spend enough time with a mentor with a high int, and it'll rub off. :)

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I always rub off with high intelligence mentors. I'm a sapiosexual ;)

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

not always... *points at majority of mankind*

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Reminds me of flowers for algernon

10 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Except without the soul crushing ending.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That story WRECKED me as a kid.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Where The Red Fern Grows was worse, imho. I repressed that story SO hard.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One of the few books to make me cry. Just... The feels...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I will now refer to all my swords as sharpclubs.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I love when a magic items alters an alignment well. I had an LE character with a cursed ring that prevented him from doing evil.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

And because he had warlock powers, the ring thought of them as evil. So he could only use his abilities "for the greater good"

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"THE GREATER GOOD."

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

CRUSTY JUGGLERS.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok I'll have the book now. Not quite finished? How long will it take 5-10 min.? I'll wait. Almost done?

10 years ago | Likes 234 Dislikes 1

Hello! Would you like to destroy some evil today!?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Two years later, we are friends now you and me.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Commentinh for when the book is finished.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I too seek the book.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If you read my profile, you might get that story. you are challenged.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This would make a damn awsome childrens book.. Also, Can we give the sword to Trump? Hes about as much a RL Ogre i have ever seen

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Ogre's aren't evil, they are misguided by cultural difference. Trump understands our culture, and profits off of it because he can. Evil.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Haha holy shit my GM clearly read this, Garg and Moonslicer cameoed in my campaign

10 years ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 0

Props to your GM.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They wil be in mine, too.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nice! :D

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

moonslicer is in our campaign. we fallowed these "diary pages" from an orgre named Grarg and eventually found Moonslicer

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cool!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely putting Garg and Moonslicer in my next campaign.

10 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

damn im going to as well, im making them a legend in my pantheon "The Ballad of Garg and His Moonslicer"

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We found him digging some irrigation in a swamp and had a chat, it was pretty funny, none of us had seen this so didn't know what to expect

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Wasn't there a legendary greatsword in WoW that would speak to you telepathically?

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

It was Shadowmourne, a 2H axe. It whispers to the player. lol

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

There was also the Puzzle Box of Yogg'saron, which whispered dark things

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There were two axes and a sword. Corrupted ashbringer was sword, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYdM752o2QM & Shadowmourn were the axes.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a trinket that does this too, on use. I forget what it said.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nothing beats Lilarcor.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And this is for YOU ma! Who said I would never amount to anything more than a butter knife!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Corrupted Ashbringer would whisper to you in Vanila and continues to do so. Source: I own one.

10 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

There's another one, the axe garrosh replaced gorehowl with whispers to you as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYdM752o2QM

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

and when it finally comes back in Legion, it won't be evil and creepifying anymore. completely pointless.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

It hasn't been evil or creepifying for just over 7 years now, got purified in the death knight starting area finale

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah I remember now... that was the first one to do that.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What a wild ride.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You are about to die. What do you do? I leave the world a better place. Roll for charisma: 20. An ogre named Garg finds your sword...

10 years ago | Likes 886 Dislikes 2

Why has no one made this isn't one of those posts yet? Then link to this story.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm scrolling through my favorites and this was such a good comment that I actually tried to favorite it again

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So I was just fine through the story and then I got to this and all the sudden my eye condition spikes.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

damn....

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Paralyzed by an Emperor Mummy, with the zombie'd Witch and Inquisitor closing in, the Gunslinger having left me behind. Rogue rolls Religion

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

'Sun Queen, let your light guide me. Give me the strength to escape with my friends.' Nat 20. Inquizombie Full Rounds, and I'm dead...right?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You know what? You've just written a perfect campaign transition.

10 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 2

I can feel feelings now and they hurt.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Finally. Finally a good comment that isn't based on wit or repetitive in-jokes.

10 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

It is based on wit, though.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I consider wit to be humour-based, but that's just me.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Jesus. I thought the story was cute, but your comment hit me hard. You zeroed in on my greatest fear: That I'm going to fail that roll.

10 years ago | Likes 210 Dislikes 2

I feel like the critical pass is heartwarming but a critical fail could make for a hilarious DM story

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just rolled a 1 on my Saving Throw against Deep Dark Fears, even with my Distract Myself with Imgur bonus. Thanks for the existential hit.

10 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 1

This roll is one you make many times a day. Love, and do not hate. Forgive and do not boast. Do good to even your enemy; be a peacemaker.

10 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

You are right. Life is an accumulation of rolls that you decide to take. They add up...or don't.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Oh, well, most of us aren't going to make any noticeable impact. That's okay. Unless you really want to. Then you have to work for it.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Fuck you for this

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

"You sure you're not cheating me on this one mister DM?" "Just wait for it."

10 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 1

"Have patience and faith, you'll understand"

Lots of green arrows going everywhere. Somebody should put a warning sign up.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the Legend of Drizzt, Cattie-Brie had a sword inhabited by an malevolent spirit

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

That made her have evil thoughts and the like.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, thanks. Now I have like.. 4? 5? trilogies to read. Love those books.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There is like 10 books

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it's more like 19. 13 books in the original series

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Man my facts are just awful today. Thank god it's the weekend. Your count seems better
