I know it's not really a lot but I'm proud to say I hit a goal I've been working at. That's 475lbs. My next step is 500. Hopefully I can hit it late this year.

Front page edit:
I didn't know you guys liked power belly amateur basement lifting.
Everyone is being so kind, thank you very much.
Should I post my other lifts?

Wow, excellent form! I see people doing lifts incorrectly all the time (using lower back for the last 25% of the lift)

The technical term for 475lb where I come from is a “fuck-Tonne” my dude. Great work!

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I barely did 4 sets of 8 at 75lbs. That's was impressive.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Really good form, proud of ya

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My pr is 406, so I can tell you that yes, 475lbs is quite a lot!!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

bruh i cant lift that many pounds, holy fuck youre strong

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lifting an average size American, nice.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ah, I will never forget my first attempt at 500... I ate podvarak (a dish with cabbage) 30 minutes before... The sound....The smell... I...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good job man! I’m an amateur strongman competitor myself and every PR is a beautiful thing.

Light weight BABYYY! Great lift my dude

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ain't nothin' but a peanut!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"iT's NOt rEaLly a LoT" -OP (I know people pull more, but a lot of people pull a lot less) Seriously...nice work, dude!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Remember,it's important to lift with your back . Preferably with a jerking twisting motion. You will feel the results instantly!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Exactly, take your legs completely out of the equation

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I couldn’t pick up a large bag of dog food the other day, you sir are killing it

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

475 = Not a lot. Me stuck at 355 :(

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Man that's 215-ish kilos, basically 2,5 persons worth of weight. Don't downplay yourself dude, you are STRONG

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I pulled me back muscles just by looking at this.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm 165lbs and can do 8 reps of 235lbs.. not sure what my 1 rep max is. I think it's 290lbs.. I sure as F can't do that much. Good job!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Every month, every year, just a little bit more. Stay with it.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Any 2 plate gang in chat

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah good lift!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who says it's not a lot? Just because some pro lifts more does not make your accomplishment any less impressive. Good job man!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah! I just hit 470 myself hoping for 500 by end of year. You rock!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You must be the upstairs apartment.....just kidding, good work!

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

This is a lot for 90% of people, including me! Inspiring!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just started doing deadlifts for the first time about a month ago. This makes me look forward to continuing!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Stay at it and practice good form. It's an awesome grind

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Form is what I have been focusing on. If I feel my bracing in my back faulted even a bit I stop and reset myself. Hard pass on back injuries

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice lift. Back when I used to lift, my max was 425 raw with chalk

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

impressive, keep up the good work

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's monstrous, dude. I kind of want to get into lifting but I don't really know where to start

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've heard you just go to the gym and try a little but of everything. I got really interested in bench pressing and just kept trying more.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Starting strength is a good place to gain information on the lifts for the first few years. Don't listen to their political stuff.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice fucking work!! I'm hoping to get in the 400 club this year(stuck at 345). This is all kinds of inspiring!

5 years ago | Likes 320 Dislikes 0

Oh no way, me too dude! I believe in you!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That’s incredible. I just cracked 220, but at rate I’ll hit 400 by year end. I’m of course talking body weight.

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

It's a grind every step of the way.

5 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

That's kind of good news, though. At least you know what you're up against.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Squatting hard alongside your deadlifts is super critical. I went from 315-405 going up 10lb. / week that way

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah. I been doing a squat bench deadlift 5x5. Just need to keep grinding

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice man, you'll definitely get there. Just make sure form is solid and that you're eating enough

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh that's my secret capt.....I'm always eating enough

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea, well, I'm 6'1" and 250 pounds. I'm hoping to get into the 100 pound club! Beat that, bitch!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Getting stepping up to barbell and doing any weight is a win!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When did 475lbs become not really a lot? That's more than two of me.

5 years ago | Likes 253 Dislikes 0

Nearly 4.5 of me...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here’s the thing. When you lift it, it becomes not a lot. Because now you want 495, 505... it just keeps going up.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

1. it IS a lot

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2. Folks don't realize their own potential to get stronk. 405 is totally doable for most (youngish) guys who train and eat well.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well it is a lot for some schmuck like me but compared to competitive power lifters it's not. That's also more than two of me.

5 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 1

Don’t compare your middle to someone else’s end. Inversely, your attempt at humbleness actually shits on those lifting less.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They were all on 475 at one point my friend. Keep going, I believe in you.

5 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

It's a lot=)

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are you currently a competitive power lifter?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. I just starting lifting in my spare time after the kids are asleep. I don't think there are competitions in my area but I'm not sure.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then what you are doing is a hella lot. Like, a hella lot. I might be able to manage 170lbs, so 475 is fucking nuts. Congrats man.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good shit man. I hit the 1000lbs club and never went back to power lifting lol. But I miss it. Keep at it my guy.

5 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 4

I just had to do a touch and go bench press today and boy did it hurt my feelings and my body

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Is this a common thing? Did the same thing a month ago and just went back for the first time today

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

No, the 1000lb club is fairly small, takes a lot of work.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

So is this a combined total? That Icelandic dude did a 500kg/1045 lb. deadlift a couple of months back. World record.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Total of bench, squat and deadlift. And 500 kg is 1102 lbs

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, you’re right, my head wasn’t working.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, but did you say 1000 pounds? As in, half a ton, 1000 pounds? I had no idea this was humanly possible 0_o

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

1,104.5 lbs is the world record deadlift, but the 1000 club refers to combined bench, squat, and deadlift usually

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

In powerlifting it's spread over 3 lifts - bench, deadlift, squat, total for all 3 is over 1000 = 1000 pound club. Though the world record

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Deadlift by itself is over 1100 pounds now, so yes.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember that feeling of breaking the 1000lb club. So good.

5 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

I remember pulling 500, and breaking 1000lbs combined lifts. Confidently walked away while feeling like I was going to passout all the way.

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

I've never competed before. My combined total would be 1000 or so. Is that good for a 225lb guy?

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Very good yeah. I was 225 with 500DL, 485 squat, 285 bench. Stopped chasing that dragon and started triathlons, was tired of being fat lol

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

(I'm 5'8")

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's...that's a thing? A human lifting 1000lbs? I may as well try and lift a bus for all the vertical movement if get.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1000lbs combined weight. In powerlifting it's your combined total of your squat, deadlift, and bench

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ah, okay. That sounds more human. Thought I'd walked into the 2553 Spartan II class reunion fer fucks sakes XD

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Eddie hall most definitely deadlifted 1000lbs tho
