These are always so neat. Once I visited this large abandoned hotel in Croatia, it was one of the highlights of the trip.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Correction: Those pictures from Cambodia are actually from the first installment of the Tomb Raider series

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gonna go play The Last Of Us now

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How do I know these aren't just hyper-realistic screenshots of "The Last of Us"?

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Both of those creeped me out too. The prison is just horrifying.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#11 would be awesome for board games/rpgs

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Who in the hell just abandons a mansion?!? I'll live there!

10 years ago | Likes 163 Dislikes 0

Upkeep alone can run up to 1.5 million euros per year. Good luck with that.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ya I think they're actually castles. Plenty of them abandoned around Ireland. They'd be pretty cold, wet and no plumbing/electrics.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

There are many in Germany too. The upkeep was often too much and many also fled during WWII.

10 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

Read the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Really great book.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Most Irish mansion houses were owned by the landed gentry, many of whom fled to England during our rebellion in 1798 and War of Independence.

10 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

A lot of the houses and castles were looted and burned during the crossfire; many, but not all, have been restored.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

This has been donated to a local church. Because we don't have nearly enough churches in this area...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are plenty of old castles and "Big House"s lying around the countryside. There's one by a beach near me I explored recently; it had 1/

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

what we think were servants' rooms, a stable, a kitchen and what looked like bullet holes in the walls. cf @ahoymatey 's comment. 2/2

10 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Like the bullet holes in the GPO... :) amazing how these things are respected as historic sites now after the death and destruction.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

go back, post pictures, embrace the urban explorererrr in you!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pictures please!

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I'll be honest, none of us brought cameras - it started as a walk on the beach before we decided to explore what we calledthe Haunted House.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can you go back? And make a post for us?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also came here for this.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

spreepark is an old funpark in berlin, germany. the owner was is deep debts, so he had to close it in 2002.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you gone there?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

there was a guided tour since 2011. but sometimes there are small events in the park, like christmas market.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even this year? According to wikipedia the guided tours are finished

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me too! Somebody should set up a world imgur tour of these places.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How do trees or plants grow on a rusty ship is what I wanna no? Secondly I don't think that greenhouse was abandoned cuz its fuckin thriving

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can people live in places like these? Small cottage in these cities. Population: just me?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been to Cambodia. Though that's not a Ankhor temple and its preserved.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The hotel room reminded me of catcher in the rye! :|

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I live in #2 :D. Well not the tree, but vashon. I've seen the tree as well though. We have a really nice view of Rainer all over the island.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I live near the bicycle in the tree. Not that interesting after about 15 seconds.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thought about taking the ferry out there, but I'm too lazy

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been to #4, it's pretty nice, but I almost got mugged by gypsies.

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Really? What's the story?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Storytime!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's gorgeous. I've never been there but I've been to Florence where the same thing almost happened to me

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do tell. What do you mean by almost?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I came across some beggars asking for money, if you give to them, they notice where your wallet is, and they then tell the thieves.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'll bring the tetanus shots, you bring the tent?

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Done, let's go.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I bring some food, can I come too?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even to the radioactive ghost city?

10 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 0

What was the movie called again?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Veritasium did a documentary about Pripyat. Also there's his other movie called something like Uranium: Twisting the Dragon's Tail

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is actually quite popular tourist attraction.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like @Smajdalf said, it's pretty safe. https://youtu.be/BhYEkRjUWM8

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's pretty safe if you have a guide and don't do stupid shit
