Loved his episode of Archer. I recall hearing him asked about it in an interview, and he just lit up. Got a big smile and said it was about the most fun thing he's ever done. Said he'd love to come back, and that we hadn't technically seen his character die, he just fell out of a helicopter and we've seen Archer characters survive much worse. Would have been nice to see him on there again.

Bourdain didn’t really give a shit about what people thought of him, he’d been through a lot of shit and just wanted to tell his stories and stories of places he went. He just spoke truth. I’ll always remember the day he died because my office was totally silent, we were all old restaurant people and everyone was just sad

Line Cook through and through. Fuck you. I can quit right now. I'll go next door and have a new job before I get to the bar.

In the season premiere of Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, the host and crew make their first trip to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza.

Ok but have you watched old episodes of no reservations? They dont age particularly well. He kind of comes across as a pretentious asshole.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He was a pretentious asshole. But that doesn't mean he didn't speak the truth often.

A RWNJ I knew said Mossad killed Bourdain because how does a man that tall hang himself in a small room? And why would he commit suicide when his career and life were on the upswing? The guy cited Bourdain dating Asia Argento, one of the accusers, and speaking out against Weinstein (violently). He was sure Weinstein hired Mossad agents/alum.
My favorite part was the RWNJ said his wife, who says he's full of shit for his theories, was the one who brought up Bourdain's height.

RWNJ?

Right Wing Nut Job. This one was especially unique. Think: Alex Jones but sides with some liberal causes, such as pro-bonds to improve the schools and going after the monied interests controlling the town.
When I was a reporter there, he used to call me with rants all the time. I've since blocked his number.

The first time the world saw behind the walls of Gaza? I respect his work, but come on.

Israel became incredibly locked down with what media it allowed passed the checkpoints in the after 2009 when Netanyahu an his government got into power.

The right wing of Israeli society REALLY REALLY hated the Oslo accords and were incensed that the PLO were keeping up with the timeline and working towards a two state solution and even Hamas was at the table in 2008.

It destroyed their credibility when the Palestinians were seen by the world as reasonable and peacefully pursuing a homeland.

The "world" didn't but Americans only care when a celerity is involved or when things go beyond the point of no return. When Jose Andre's crew were killed by the IOF early in the genocide, some high ranking Democrats even started to care a bit.

Thats not what tweet said.

You are reading into it something it doesn't say, and then disagreeing with the thing you interpreted it to have meant.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Even since, almost all media coverage of gaza is only about politics not the people

7 months ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 3

Perhaps another instance where the word "world" should be replaced with USA.

7 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Western media everywhere follows the US in that regard

Still not "the world".

Blocked in Colorado. How do we raise awareness that CNN is trying to bury this?

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you very much. I love Bourdain, but didn't see all of his stuff. Definitely missed this one.

Episode list for Parts U known lists S02E03 as New Mexico. S02E01 is Jerusalem where he goes to the West Bank and Gaza.

Wouldn't you know it... I'm from the Midwest United States

7 months ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 0

Well, that's what VPNs are for

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I get the same! That's some fucking bullshit, right there!

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me too wtf, is this censorship or HBO copyright?

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's not a conspiracy though, it's because you can pay to watch it on another platform and they want their $$$$

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yoooo I can’t either - also Midwest (but my phone number is East Coast)

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm on the East Coast and wouldn't work. I tried to bypass this by just using a service to directly to download the video but it wouldn't work either.

from a spot check, only unavailable in US and Canada. central and S. America ok. Europe ok. Somewhat ironically, even Israel worked.

7 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Works when it thinks im in Japan, vpn for the win!

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This isn't North Korea - why are we getting censored!?

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It literally tells you: the people who own the show don't want you to see it. Also You aren't being censored bc you didn't make it. a listener isn't censored. A speaker is.

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah... I guess I was trying to be a little funny

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also does not work in Canada.

7 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Works in UK

7 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Which is ironic given all the hundreds of arrests yesterday trying to silence the dissenters and the online safety bill that has just come into force

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It really isn't, WB just wants you to pay them for the content.

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0
