Recipe said it made 144......

It made 24 goliath perogies. ^green onion&garlic.

Banana for scale. ^bacon, cheddar and fried onion.

But they were amazing!! ^bacon&fried onion.

I didn’t wanna fry more onions. So only sour cream it was. Also... I live alone... it’s goof it didn’t make 144. But I have to make more tomorrow since I have enough filling for 120 more. FP edit: i have like 70 more to make today come join me: https://www.twitch.tv/madamerainbowpants

Recipe edit!! Also I didn’t make the exact same filling as the recipe but the dough was easy to work with. https://natashaskitchen.com/pierogi-recipe/

What’s that banana for? Scale?

That's not a banana, that's a snake. I saw the other post

not gonna lie, I read the first bit of the title, saw the first picture, and thought "those perogies look unconventional"

Do right by Ethel. Learn to make them yourself and share them with friends and family. It’s what she would’ve wanted l.

I like Cornish pasties, I like perogi. Can't decide which camp these monsters falls into!

These are perogies just too big lol.

'Pierogi" is already plural

24 Goliath*

I'm usually the opposite, recipe says for 4 but have the ingredients for 10. Well looks like I'm cooking for a small army.

Yum, good job. Now Im hungry.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks good. Make the smaller ones and freeze them in small batches. They keep about 3 months.

What's that? Did you say 3 years?

This

Or, just eat them all in one sitting and you don't have to worry about it.

Psshh. Make 40 dozen or none. They do look delicious though.

As a Pole - I approve this post.

When does it stop being a perogi and start being an empanada?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s a different dough entirely, empanadas are a pastry dough this one is like dumpling ish.

Love and bacon, according to my great grandmother

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 banana ≈ 18 centimeters or 7 inches

You need to try potato and cheese pierogies pan fried in bacon grease. Boiled pierogies with lemon butter sauce is also good.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They all have potato in them as a base filling, I didn’t write it cause I assumed it was an automatic. Whoops.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can have them without potatoes. But they would just be a ravioli.

Or there’s the cottage cheese ones but those aren’t my life dream.

144 is enough for two days for a family. But you can freeze any surplus.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If by "family" you mean "one adult" then sure, why not

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, no. Usually they are ~30 grams. 30*77 = 2.3 kg. I have been eating them all my life but that amount would be BORING. Even with vodka

Congrats! Are you polish? My grandma used to make these every Christmas but with prunes in them

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No but I’ve been to poland and ukraine and live in a heavy perogy territory.

I made perogies last week. I have only made them a few times. The recipe called for sour cream in the dough. Was so good.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes!!!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Man Ive eaten a Lot of perogies, but I've never heard of a bacon one. Good on you.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"...with this sweet sweet bacon from the actual butcher!!" So the butcher is no more?

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

No just a cheap tummy tuck

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, just carved his belly up real good. Save him for hams later on.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Those perogies look fantastic! But that banana needs to be put out of its misery

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To the freezer!
