When I taught my sister, before even starting the engine I would randomly say brake or clutch, and didnt start engine until she had it down.

So many mistakes: 1: No gloves and below the ankle shoes. 2: Wrist isn't flat. Results in whiskey throttle. 3: Giving it gas.

#3 sounds weird but hear me out: When you first start, you should give it no throttle and gently let off the clutch. The bike will still go.

If you dump the clutch too quickly, bike will stall, but you're okay. If you do it properly the bike will cruise and then practice clutching

Unless you're well over 300lbs, shouldn't be a problem. Personally seen 250s go with some pretty large people on top.
