To be fair, Charlie was not just a podcaster. He had a far greater influence than his social media. I would not have had the flag lowered for him, and his passing would not have made news other than how he died. As for Service members, we recognize that the flag would be at half mast all year long if we were recognized in said manner. But our commitment to the Constitution goes beyond any need for recognition even when we pay the ultimate price. Our reward is in doing our duty.

The proper protocol is to lower the flag to half mast during any ceremony, or to be "dipped" and then raised again. should not be flown half mast for a serviceman's death, particularly not on post/base. One of the main reasons is that the military cannot dwell on the death of a single - or even multiple soldiers. We have a mission to carry on.

For those who don't know, Booker T was a proponent of isolating the black and white communities so that black communities could financially prosper on their own. An interesting theory, with some string points, but one that ultimately didn't seek to end segregation, but preserve it. One glaring issue with his idea is that when Black communities would get successful, they would targeted and attacked by white supremacists.
