Inspiring performance by this guy at the Arnold Disabled Strongman Athlete Competition

Inspiring performance by all of the Adaptive Athletes at the Arnold Disabled Strongman Competition at the 2017 Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio last weekend. Here is a clip of just one of the many kick-ass athletes running through the 160/175/200lb (72.6/79.4/90.7kg) Atlas Stone medley.

This year was the first time that Adaptive Strongman Athletes were able to compete at the Arnold. Here are the champions of the Disabled Strongman Competition at the 2017 Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio.

If this post motivates 1 person to get up and work out, then I consider it a win. Go break a leg!

That made my back hurt

He must have had to come up with a whole new balance

Under appreciated comment. Well done. I had to scroll back up to check his shoes.

DIVERT ALL POWER TO LEFT ARM I'm sorry I'm going to hell but props to this guy for amazing strength

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You won't go to hell for that, haha - pretty much how it works. Since you end up relying on the other limb so much more.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here, take my strong hand.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow, so much respect.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

First time ever and it didn't even end in a standing ovation!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn good stuff, sir.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't do that last part. Don't break a leg. It's really not good for your health.

At first I thought this was some dumb cross fit trend. Now I'm just really impressed and feel like a dick

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did he just do a one-legged squat with like fuckin 200lbs of stone on his other knee?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I work out at the same gym as that guy. He's ridiculous. Super nice guy too from what I can tell.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Holy shit I was there. If the clip went another 10sec longer you would have seen me! He was seriously impressive. Especially w/ the 1 handed

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

cleans

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It would be a lot easier if he just used both arms.

Is it bad if that's exactly what I thought? I had to reread the post cus I couldn't identify how he was disabled.. still not sure.

I have 95 and 115 lbs atlas balls, and fully non-adaptive body, and yet still struggle more than this.

9 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 0

Keep up the practice! You'll get it! Having a good coach is key, but you can learn a lot online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5-HIKaIXNw

One of those balls is the same weight as me....

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ibs?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

lbs is short for pounds

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

pounds are short for a type of cake

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's about how much I weigh and that's all I'm going to say about that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got suite excited thinking I can probably lift that. Then realized I've been training regularly the last 20 years...

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

I shouldn't be excited that I PROBABLY can do that. I should know by now.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

hey if you haven't tried you don't know.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

hes just not moving because his balls are way heavier than that

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's just suicidal

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's fucking impressive...

9 years ago | Likes 440 Dislikes 0

Doesn't it hurt rolling a giant ball over your balls.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not when you got balls of steel!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"And take THAT, my own testicles!"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

But is it healthy?

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

I'd say the benefits of pushing yourself to do something like this outweigh the negatives

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let's just say he'll be even more disabled after that kills his back.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Well, obviously not. I mean, look at the guy.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

In the sense that every movement he does it uneven loading of the spine, no. But in the sense of activity, muscle use, mental health (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

2/2 benefits, circulatory and pulmonary benefits, yes. So it's a mixed bag.
