I was super pleased with it and just wanted to share with you all. The bark is all made from chocolate and was really fun, lol. But the downside? It's a smash cake. Which means, some lucky sugar hungry 1-year-old is going to rip it's guts out and devour it before it's parents and some photographer.

But no, really. It'll be smashed to bits. All my hard work.... Destroyed... Within seconds...

Bit like a sand mandala.

It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.

Did you soak it in wood?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well either way, it's gonna end up as poop.

Is the 1 year old going to be dressed like a lumberjack?... fake beard and everything? That would be cute.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope so! I have no idea. I'll see it when the photographer sends me a copy.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well it was going to get eaten even if it wasn't going to be a smash cake. So regardless there would be a same outcome

This is also true...

What is a smash cake?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a cake for a 1st birthday that the kid gets to smash while pictures are taken. It's cute... But not when you're the baker lol.

They generally do eat it though! Just not my kid. She tasted a bit of frosting and decided breastmilk was more appealing.

Seems like a real waste of a truly wonderful cake. You got my sympathy!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha, thanks! It is a waste.. But the pictures do look cute afterwards and the kid has fun. At least I get paid for it.

I did get a cute picture of my kid pleased with her cake smashing talents though.

*shrugs* I don't see why it should bother you, cake is destroyed either way, whether by baby fists or knives and teeth...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's hard to see your art being destroyed whether it's from baby fists or not lol.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Temporary art is temporary.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which is true. But I worked hard on it. I know it's going to be destroyed regardless. But, hey.. It's my job, lol.
