Looks like the guy I posted about earlier found a new number. Back and even creepier.

We ended up calling the police. They found him in the (relatively empty) parking lot. He's currently detained and we are waiting at a police station.

I highly recommend getting a restraining order, it is relatively easy to at least get a temporary one.

Why did you block out the number? we could’ve made fun of him, or made him change his number ..hopefully they stop that creep

What the actual fuck is wrong with people.

This is so scary. I’m glad your sister was able to get help from police!

Someone will do the same to him in prison and only then will he realise the error of his ways...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

People like this, the reason people carry weapons of all sorts......oh and the stalker too!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's weird to me how you can write something like that and not think you should be locked up

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

sad part is...... he's gonna sit in jail, wonder what went wrong, and end up blaming her.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Good job OP, sorry u had to deal with this. I don’t understand how these people think their behavior is ok.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

I know it's not the point of the post, but... is there really a Dave Boulevard somewhere? Sounds dope.

damn that's bad. the fuck is with guys/people like this? [I'm a dude] it's horrendous and therapy is req'd. with a 2x4 or steel pipe, YMMV

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Ranged weapons are better for that kind of "therapy".

OP uploaded here to post on reddit's /r/CreepyPMs and one of their rules is that identifying info must be blocked out. Name + avatar.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what this was originally posted for. Thanks though!

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

No one should have to deal with that crap, creepy and terrifying.

8 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 2

It's scary that this is becoming more and more common for women when it comes to online dating.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I assume that men are getting some of the creepy ladies as well. I just haven't heard of it much from the males in my life.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Had a guy match with me and he found me on Facebook. Sent a message saying “I’m not a creep, just wanted to find out more bout you.” What?!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I had a guy match with me and then proceed to find out every detail about me. He even showed up at my job when I didn't respond to him.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If I have to get the police involved before a first date, maybe you need to scale it back a bit.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ya know, sometimes I like to think us guys ain't so bad then one of us pulls this crap.

8 years ago | Likes 438 Dislikes 22

Really? Murder, organized crime, sex trafficking, its perverts that made you realize your gender isnt representative of you? wtf am i readin

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

You guys arent so bad. But there are some weirdos out there

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Please don't take responsibility for shitty men's behavior. Your honorable apology further reinforces that we as men are all alike.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 18

Hopefully most ladies know not to blame all you guys for the couple crazies that snuck in the batch, we have our fair share too.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I don't blame all guys but it does make you have to be careful with all guys because you don't know which one is gonna be like this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then I remember the astronaut who wore a diaper so she didn't have to stop during an 18 hour drive to stalk a married coworker.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Bitches be crazy and we got bitches of every gender, race, religion, and nationality.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is not masculinity, this is mental illness. That needs to be thoroughly understood.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Some of you can't see how one of us being shit makes the rest look like shit. Get off the cross we need the wood.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Men arn't bad. This person is obviously a deranged individual that needs serious psycological help.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 6

Why are you judging “us guys” off the action of one individual? That’s problematic thinking bro.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There is no need to bring in gender, people tend to be crazy. Gender, color, height. People be crazy. Guys are fine.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 16

Guys aren't the only ones who can do this. Crazy has no color, creed, gender, what have you.

8 years ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 14

Hello! Guy here. Been a guy most of my life. I agreed with both of you. Crazy can come from anyone at anytime. Even people you know

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Take above statement, and replace ‘guys’ with ‘humans’, and now it applies to everyone.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

But he SAID he was NICE!

8 years ago | Likes 147 Dislikes 1

"I am nice, pls inhale my dong via this hot pic!"

They always do - _-

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

“Yeah! I’m nice you fuckin bitch!”

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

"I hope you get raped! REEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

All men aren't "us guys". Don't judge half the world population by the .0001% of "those guys"

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 28

It is NOT just .0001%. While behavior to this extreme is more rare, men who stalk, harass, etc. are fairly common.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 12

Sure, and women who would rather be stay at home moms rather than engineers and CEOs are fairly common. 2 can play this insipid game.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 18

Being a stay at home mom is a stereotype - but those moms aren't harming anyone. Men who stalk are. What's your point?

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 7

Point is broad sterotypes don't help anyone. Women are by far more likely to kill their children. There, happy?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

We are back at home. My sister has gone to bed early because of the stressful day. We will be talking to a lawyer tomorrow.

I've got one: push in their eyes.

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Gavin de Becker. Great advice on how to deal with these situations and keep them from escalating.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've dealt with two stalkers. One rule of thumb, don't talk back. They're getting what they want. Block, and if needed, call the cops.

8 years ago | Likes 543 Dislikes 5

Well, you should typ "stop texting me" first, then you have grounds for calling the police if the person continues ;) (But ye I agree!)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This. Stop talking to the creep.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

It's been 10 months, 20 different numbers, he's had 10 different Facebook accounts ... he'll give up someday tho, right?

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Or kill you. I would do something more about it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's a vagrant now, I've no address or info for him.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How does he contact you on media, then?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He has a phone, I don't know the actual number for it. He makes new Facebook accounts when I block the old ones.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For me I was told by the cops to explicitly mention to not contact me in any form again and then drop off contact.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

This is exactly right, speaking from unfortunate experience.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Always carry something or self defense. Whether it be pepper spray, a gun, one of those hard metal stick thingies you hit people with

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

ASP or extendable baton is the word you were searching for there.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks lol

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your name............... is Gorgeous Gen.... I mean.... no wonder people want you

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 14

It's beyond that though, not a "Oh wow you're hot!" It's "you're the only one for me, only one who understands me" where you barely talk.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I somehow knew I'd be downvoted for ironically saying that. Yeah, I have had friends get experiences like that. Its unsettling.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We went to a bar at lunch, then the evening. Free drinks all night from the bartender, who also gave her a rose, and begged to be with her

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He texted her for weeks. She had a boyfriend. He'd seemed innocent and sweet until the texts continued.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One, blocking and changing number worked. Second one, calling police was required. They called him but weren't able to enforce much. I moved

8 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 0

Deleted all social media and changed number again. Cross fingers, I have not heard from him in six months.

8 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 0

What if it's not within your limits to move and they somehow know where you live in the neighbouring country of theirs?

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Fortunately we caught him because of his extreme creepiness. But yes, in the future she should be more careful

8 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

Get a pistol

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

and training to go with it. And I hope you'll never need either.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

There’s currently a movie about this kind of thing and it seems terrifying. Sorry you went through that.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What movie?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I believe it’s called “Unsane”

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know, I won't be seeing it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Most people don't realize stalking laws cover texting after being told to stop, too. Good for you, be safe!

8 years ago | Likes 2396 Dislikes 3

I really wish my judge would care about that in my case.... texts wishing I'd die along my way, texting staking texts, blast texts....

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shit wish I knew that... met a creeper on okcupid FIVE years ago and he would me saying he "found my number". Finally blocked him

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Great name.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Want me to beat his ass.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

In FL yes that's called harassment by electronic device and they absolutely will arrest you for it.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It’s true. They love arresting people in Florida.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Specifically, they love announcing who they arrested and why.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They really aren’t in most states. I had an ex do similar shit. Cops could only ask him to stop. He wasn’t breaking an enforceable law here

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had to go through the trouble of getting a restraint order and my apartment complex supported me by having their lawyers legally can him

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From the complex, so that if he came to my place again he could be arrested for trespassing

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not in Canada unfortunately. Source: have a friend being stalked, RCMP cautioned the stalker but can't legally do anything about it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What about someone from America who might be secretly/subtly stalking you in Canada after threatening suicide/murder/social exposure if (1)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You stop responding to them? (Social exposure = revealing private conversations, pictures, etc from the past.) Asking for a friend. (2/2)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m pretty sure if they threaten suicide you can call the police. They’re a danger to themselves

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thank you, but what if the suicide threats were from months ago?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you have visual confirmation of this occurring (texts, messages, etc.), you can still report it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just texting someone after they say "don't text me anymore" isn't covered by stalking (or even really harassment) laws. Now, if it's a 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

This. The nature of the messages being sent matter for whether they constitute a criminal act as harassment as well as stalking here.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

lot of texts in a short period after saying "stop," you might have a case. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I think it was more the dick pic and standing in an empty parking lot of a restaurant that did it

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

There are, but it's hard to enforce. I had a guy harass me on every social media platform, he would create 20+ profiles a day that I would

8 years ago | Likes 198 Dislikes 2

If that's not dedication, idk what is. jesus christ .

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Tbh, behind the annoyance and fear, slightly impressed with the amount of time this guy took to be instantly ignored. Sooo unhealthy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

damn, I've always wondered how people could just dedicate themselves to something so unhealthy and unproductive to society.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More like obsession

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mmm, I wouldn't call a guy in an asylum butting his head against a wall until he passes out bleeding, "dedicated". "Dedicated" is positive.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"dedicated to committing murder" doesn't sound as positive

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Instantly block. The police came, took statement, called him and members of his family he had had call me to convince me to be with him.

8 years ago | Likes 147 Dislikes 0

What did his family say about his behaviour?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It helped, for a week, but it took me completely resetting every way to contact me to stop it.

8 years ago | Likes 113 Dislikes 0

good for you going the legal path, if someone was doing that to someone in my life, id handle it myself. which would be wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not to tell you how to live your life, but I can imagine a dude who has limited interactions with girls being weird and creepy around a 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 24

2/2 girl who responds to a "rack request". There are some pretty fancy spice racks out there, they could get overly intimate.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 25

Yeah I work in a domestic violence shelter and these laws work about as well as all the other ones that should be leaving me out of a job..

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately for this guy, responding with "No bitch -dick pic-" and then following with stalking info really kinda seals the deal

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wish you were right. My professional experience indicates otherwise.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really? If I whipped it out on the street and harassed a person and there was proof, ho boy. Why would it be different online?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, the street scenario also happens all the time without consequence. There’s just not a whole lot of enforcement with these laws.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rehtaeh Parsons is one case study of how even clear proof of cybersexual abuse/harassment often fails to translate into criminal charges.
