I'm part of a group of motorcycle riders and enthusiasts in my area. Sunday is usually our day to ride with everyone. We all ride throughout the week, but the most people are available in Sunday afternoons. We often swap bikes to try out different things, see what we like and don't like. We were having a great day of riding. We go out and have a good time, but we don't get too rowdy on the streets. We've seen things go wrong too many times. We trust our own abilities, but we don't trust the people in the cars. We were nearing the end of our ride. My friend and I swapped bikes for the last little leisurely ride through some local islands. As we were heading out to the first island, a car pulled out in front of all 6 of us. My friend didn't even have enough time react, and hit the driver's side door Going over 65 mph. I have no clue how the rest of us didn't get hurt. Some parts are just a blur. Some parts are clearer than I wish. I don't know if I'll ever get the image of him bleeding out on the pavement, out of my head. I miss him so much. I'm not sure what to do.

Tl;dr I saw my friend die and I'm an emotional wreck.

I'm so sorry

I am sorry for your loss, remember it wasn't your fault and you can't change the past. Remember the good times you had

I'm really sorry for your loss, @OP

Find an outlet, and LET IT OUT

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Hang in there. Talk it out.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Gosh, I am so sorry :(

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Sorry man. I wish I could tell you it will get better.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

"I just watched my friend die, let me post something on Imgur for fake points, that'll make me feel better"

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I saw something like this a few years back. That shit will mess you up. I couldn't imagine loosing a friend right in front of my eyes.

If you are like me, busy hands help a lot through these times. Go buy a junker basket case motorcycle and completely re-build it....

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Then dedicate the build to your fallen friend. It will help you work through the emotions, it will also help you remember the good more.

Look up your local TIP. Trauma Intervention Program. They help with things just like this for free. We had them on site at the hospital.

Holy shit man. Get professional help ASAP. Talk to someone. Please...

From another biker: keep telling yourself he died doing what he loved. Our group lost one this summer, and my bud almost died. >

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I can only imagine the grief you must be going through I'm sending all the good vibes your way. I'm here if you need someone to talk to.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

@OP talk to someone, a professional. It will help a ton, I know. So sorry for your loss.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

This is bad. But as one who rides I know: who rides knows & accepts he might fall & die. Your friend knew as well. May he RIP. Left Hand!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I ride. He died doing what he loved with people he knew. There are worse ways to go out. one day your group can do a tribute ride for him.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

He cant his freind crashed op bike :(

Jesus. I used to ride a couple of years ago until i was hit from behind at a stop sign, broken leg, totalled bike. Gave up riding for that..

I hope things get better for you and I send my condolences. Stay strong and talk to your friends and family to keep your heart up :)

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 6

Wise decision.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

i didnt want to but had to for the best. people like their phones more than paying attention to the road.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not sure why you are being downvoted... imgur, you weird

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

thanks, and idk, theyre dumb. thats imgur sometimes for you though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow. Colleague just bought a motorbike, was tempted after years of naysaying. Totally get the appeal, but risk/reward doesn't work for me.1/

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

2/ This nails it for me. I'll stick to track days in my modded MX-5. Hope you work through this the best you can, heart goes out to you. 2/

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No-one deserves to die doing something they love because of someone else's mistake. End/

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Do it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nah. Couldn't do it to my wife. This is one of those times where I gotta go with my gut feel. I have my outlet with my MX-5 club track days

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck you.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Everybody needs a hand sometimes.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I'm merely saying that there is real professionals out there that actually help with this stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Easier said than paid for. Therapy's expensive, right?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 10

there's tons of free therapy options out there. if you have any sort of connections to a school, be it your kid, neice, nephew etc. (1)

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

try talking to one of the counselors. i know at my school, counselors are open to anyone who needs them. (2)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

there's also tons of online resources you can use, although some better than others, they are useful. (3)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If a therapist, don't give up if the first doesn't seem to work. Many different ones have different ways of helping. So sorry for your loss

9 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 1

More people need to know this. Therapists are people too, and you're not guaranteed to click with all of them.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

I saw my brother die 4 years ago. For me life didn't even feel real any more. Don't give up, and don't be afraid to get help.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Hmu if you need to talk to me. If you feel alone, just remember you're not.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What was the speed limit?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 9

intersection (where the driverside door is presented to oncoming traffic) but rather an onramp (where it would be the rear bumper) (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I like how a legitimate question to the safety practices of the drivers is being downvoted here. Typically a 65 MPH road will not have (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Was 65 way over the speed limit?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 13

Down vote all you want. It's not like a group of young guys on crotch rockets drive responsibly.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

You'd be surprised how many do, and you don't see them do it, because they aren't passing you.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I misspoke. I meant more what you said. I refuse to assume all groups of young guys on crotch rockets are riding safely.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I'd also like to know more about the circumstances. 65 roads here don't have intersections for exactly this reason.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's what I was thinking. That and "not too rowdy" is pretty subjective.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I skipped ahead to the punch line and there wasn't one O.O

9 years ago | Likes 279 Dislikes 17

"He died in Mario Kart right? You're not fooling me I'm a pro-... Well shit."

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It wasn't so much a punchline as a punch to the feels

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OPs emotions aren't the only wreck

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you see what you've done, you've made op sad, go sit on the corner and thing about what you've done

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same, then crawled up slowly to read the rest. One never know, could have died in usersub...

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Oof, that's dark, man.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There was another post similar to this tonight that was a joke, & some of us were expecting this to be another one. Sorry.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

Hoping. All of us were hoping.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

For real. Get help. It's not a sign of weakness to see a professional, it's a sign of strength. Nobody can do life alone, acknowledging ~

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that takes more strength than anything else in the world.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This site has ruined me searched for tree fiddy, only got tears. Sorry @OP may he rest in piece, we are all here for you.

9 years ago | Likes 281 Dislikes 4

I'm not sure if you're rest in "piece" typo was intentional or not...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

No it's not. My phone must have auto corrected it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought it was going to end as a GTA post

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really wish it was a tree fiddy post. Them I'd have my friend, and a shit ton more internet points..,
