8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I find the r/ramen board to be a good place to start. U/ramen_lord has posted some good starter recipes and methods that have turned out ok.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can cut down the time significantly if you use pre-made broth and don't go as crazy on the egg

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Worth it?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It took 24 hours because he lives in Attu. That's how long it takes to get two eggs flown in.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bone broth is just stock. Stop trying to make it sound fancier than it really is.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Sounds more metal though

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nah

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Store bought stock is always made with celery, whereas bone broth typically isn’t. Celery throws off flavor in a lot of Asian cooking

I need that recipe OP. It looks amazing

What makes the outside of the egg so dark?

8 years ago | Likes 116 Dislikes 13

Absorption of light due to pigmentation

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably because OP mentioned the soy pickled egg and people are upset that you didn’t read it before asking the question. My guess.

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 9

He started with the egg 24 hours ago

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My semen

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sitting for 24 hours

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Reading. Reading makes the egg so dark.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

through pickling it in a soy-mirin marinate, it's called Ajitsuke tamago

I'm not a big fan of eggs unless they're scrambled and dry. Are these anything like a barely cooked egg in terms of texture or taste?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As far as I know, you can boil them until you make the yolk however you prefer. You marinate them afterwards. They're delicious.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, good info. Not sure why the down vote, I was genuinely curious

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 6

no idea, good question

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

24 hours to make dinner? I want to eat every day, not every other day

8 years ago | Likes 284 Dislikes 5

I bet it took op 4 hours just to get the egg right. Hard boiled is hard af.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

no, it took him 24 hours to make the bowl, the rest is just top ramen and spam

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

eat to live, not live to eat I say. I'm all for taking the time to make a good meal, but there's a limit. Flavor goes but so far.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 8

So you DONT go all the way? You won't make many friends with that attitude.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Pro tip: He was cooking/preparing over the course of 24 hours, not for 24 hours of straight work.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuckin idiot sandwich

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I don't know why you're being downvoted- that's pretty reasonable, I think! Serious kudos to anyone who does go all-out, though.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's why ramen is served in a stand. Each ingredient is a headache, but it's easy to scale. As hard to make 1 bowl as 100.

8 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 1

well, I think it would be significantly more work to make 100, but 20-30, yea

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 39

Distinctions, ideally, should only be pointed out if they make a difference.

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 4

I mean, this is imgur, and not a high class discussion ir something, so..

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 35

It is what you make it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And yet, you chose to be pedantic in the first instance.
