Why are you being mean to me?

5 years ago was just a less bad version of what I'm experiencing now. Toxic positivity is a helluva drug.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"you dreamed about where are you NOW" what kind of sentence is that?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

5 year ago, feb 2019 is a few months before shit hit the fan.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

True, I did dream about me sitting in front of a computer.

we are in the biggest club ever. "Not were I want to be" Club.

Bruno Fernandes in the last five years, signed for Manchester United and now captains them as well as being captain of his national team (Portugal) I dreamed of that many many years ago and still do

LOL AHAHAH ABSOLUTELY NOT

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That is not correct and also very depressing. Thanks a lot.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Never dreamed there will be war in my country.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

isn't this an interview question?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you were to say this to me at ANY point in my life you'd be wrong. And never in a happy way.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where you are now*

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Maybe you dreamed about "Where are you now?"

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly I didn't dream this scenario but appreciating I'm somewhere stable

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I call bullshit. I am nowhere near Castle Anthrax. Or in peril.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I dreamed about a slipped disc and constant pain. I think I need to dream a lot smaller.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The fuck I did

2 years ago | Likes 120 Dislikes 0

Hell of a stable life if you can say you had a plan 5 years ago and it worked out exactly like that.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

that is a very bold assumption to make

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I get this is supposed to be wholesome and uplifting. But the note is not fun to read for anyone where their life is not going in the direction they were hoping for. "Is everyone except me fulfilling their dreams?" - of course not everyone is that lucky.

It's not "where you are" as in how nice your current situation is, but about how much you have endured and survived. Look at how little you knew about the world then, and you still managed to make it here.

Wow, these comments are bumming me out. Sorry, everybody, I hope things get better!

Don't worry man 5 years from now is gonna kick ass I got a feeling this time.

Narrator: That feeling was the first signs of the tumor.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, but I am dreaming about where I'll be 5 years from *now* (I won't be retired yet, but I will have backed off to part time in preparation to retire...4 day work weeks should be nice!).

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

5 years ago I dreamed about winning the lottery and retiring in my 20s. That definitely hasn't happened.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

13 years ago multiple people asked me "where do you see yourself in 5 years" and none of the answers I gave turned out to be accurate.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not a single time "on a mirror"?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The closest I've come to 'dreaming' about where I was to go was during freshman year of highschool when they asked us to research 3 careers. Everything from then on has entirely been reactive, and until recently, I've been one of the happier people I knew.

2 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Yup. I haven't thought where I might end up since before I went to college. (Maybe my first year there, at the latest. MAYBE.)

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope. But I'm in such a better place now I think every day is a gift. Never thought life could be this good.

I hope in five years (or fewer) all of you feel about life as I do now .

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thank you, that's very kind. I hope for happiness in the coming years for you as well.

In 5 years, most of us will probably be fighting over food, clean water, and usable land.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wow these comments. I mean, having a good but easy job in this shit-ass economy and laying in bed with my wife and cats is about right. I am thriving. I'm a damn Stewart Smalley affirmation.

I'm leaving on a trip on Monday to see Vietnam. I never dreamed of Vietnam but I did dream of travelling to Asia and here I go! I know times are tough and the world is scary but I'm glad I'm not the only one here seeing some sunshine through the clouds once in awhile. Good luck to everyone

Nightmares are technically dreams.

2 years ago | Likes 215 Dislikes 0

....... so I am living my dreams. THANK YOU.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have never felt more attacked.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Living the dream, baby.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please, even in my nightmare I'm at least fighting off mythological creatures and monsters from space, even if I'm only equipped with the super slow-mo bodysuit.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Afghanistan, when we asked each other how we were doing, we often answered "Living the dream." I tended to respond "Wake up, this is a nightmare!"

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is a good viewpoint to see the world as a dream. When you have something like a nightmare, you will wake up and tell yourself that it was only a dream. It is said that the world we live in is not a bit different from this. - Yamamoto Tsunetomo

Even in my nightmares I never imagined getting engaged, married, and divorced all through a global pandemic in a country of cultists that tried to overthrow the government. Whirlwind. Rollercoaster. Bullshit.

Why the fuck would anyone assume that

2 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 0

The note was written pre-covid.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The post-it note could easily be a personal affirmation. The person writing it would thus have a unique and perfect insight into the past mind of the recipient. This way it would not be an assumption, but rather exactly what it says... a reminder. *John Watson mode deactivated*

If it's a personal message for an unique recipient, why post it publicly on the internet?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Why do people post anything personal? Workout routines, Food about to be eaten, Photos of loved one... the list goes on. My best guess is sometimes people want to "show off" things that mean something to them, even if it may not have value to any other of those that see it. A sort of way to be "seen".

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

A sort of way to exhibit intense, inveterate narcissism. That's why I do it anyway.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll give you an upvote for honesty.
