Show Batman TV series too.

When can we have Bruce Willis as batman?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but still have yet to surpass the orginal

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

A good Alfred Pennyworth makes sitting through a movie/show with a shitty Batman a lot easier.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I enjoyed Andy Serkis as him also

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's damn unfortunate however that we've had a bad Batman casting...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Affleck....I'm talking Affleck

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Worths every penny ...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wanna see an Alfred like in the comics/animated where he kicks ass and takes names.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Gotham version.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You mean you don't think the one where batman and alfred look the same age was a bad cast?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can we add Alan Napier and Efrem Zimbalist Jr. to this list as well, please?

4 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 0

There'S an episode of Batman '66 where we meet Alfred's cousin, played by Napier with a different accent it's hilarious.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And Ralph Fiennes? ?

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

AND MY AXE!

4 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

And Jack Bannon

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

And Judy Dench.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Gotham was such a fantastic show.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't think any film has cast Batman properly

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

HOW DARE YOU NOT INCLUDE ALAN NAPIER!!!!???

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because you could cast any british dude as a sarcastic butler. Its practically genetic alongside being stoic and loving tea.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Absolutely adore Jack Bannon in Pennyworth.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that Sean Pertwee?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yup!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wasn't a huge fan of Jeremy Irons. He was a worse Alfred than many Batmen.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The show Pennyworth had potential to be really good but fell short…

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Gotham had flashes of brilliance but eventually fell into "make all the characters unlikable because we ran out of ideas" syndrome.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I lost interest/stopped watching during the Mad Hatter/weird blood storyline. Keep considering trying to finish, but didn't like it enough.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gothams big problem is knowing everyone of Batman value has to live no matter how violent it gets

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well the kid had to grow up (did not like the actor who played him) but yeah it ran dead

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm kinda saddened to hear that. I had been meaning to watch it, but it's not available through any normal avenues I have.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s on HBOMAX if you have it. I wanted it to be good so I kept watching

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly, I am in Canada, where HBOMax is not available. Some stuff goes to the Canadian streaming service Crave, but evidently not that.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dont listen to them, its amazing. One of the best shows I've ever seen, and is basically the closest thing to a James Bond show we have

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I agree

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really wanted to see a campy Batman movie with Adam West as Alfred

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I just want another campy Batman. We've had non-stop gritty Batman movies for 17 years now. I want goofy and fun Batman again.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

There is kind of something on Netflix called Guardians of Justice which balances serious with campy. Its kind of the best DC since Shazzam.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You'll be waiting for a while

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that by the time I die, Batman movies will have reached levels of dark and sad that make A Serbian Film look cheerful.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is Jeremy irons the new Alfred? Never saw him and dislike Pattinson enough to not look into this further

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He was the Batfleck Alfred.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The greatest CGI actor finally allowed to use his real face?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

King Kong.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I take it you missed Captain America: Civil War and Black Panther?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He used his real face in The Prestige. And David Bowie had a moustache as he played Tesla.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ever since I heard parts of Michael Cain's autobiography I can't see his face and not think of him almost pooping his pants...multiple times

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I vote Hugh Laurie for the next Alfred.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Fuck yeah!!!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He could definitely pull it off. Man is skilled at both comedy and drama; and can switch between them in a moments notice.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Shouldn't it be Stephen Fry, with Hugh Laurie as Batman?

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Batman, but set in the 1920s.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did consider it. Bertie Wooster & Bruce Wayne even have the same initials! Jeeves should stay Jeeves, though. IMO

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have a better idea. John Cleese as Alfred. And Clancy Brown as Bruce Wayne.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But why would Lex Luthor be Bruce Wayne?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's got the build, the voice, the experience playing DC characters, the cult following.

But lots of lousy Batmans

4 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 6

The Batman in the live action Titans series was pretty terrible, did not feel at all like a Batman, to me at least. Thought he was Alfred.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

That was the worst. And the credit card scene? Fuck.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I like Batfleck, I don't care what anyone thinks about it

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I did too

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Batfleck was great, I was looking forward to his solo movie, with a gruff no patience take-no-shit Batman.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Afleck played the character well, its just unfortunate he wasn't playing a Batman that people wanted to see.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Felt like he could've been post-Justice League (as he ceased being the ultra edgy version and warmed to people again), but we'll never know.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

IMO Most of the Justice league actors were good, its the script that failed them. Flash's running is unforgivable though.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

There is nothing about Ezra Miller's Flash I like, especially without Whedon's "save one person" arc for him. Yeah, I liked that bit.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

George Clooney and Val Kilmer were bad. The rest were good for what they werre supposed to be.

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Kilmer was a decent Batman, just not a great Bruce. Clooney was a good Bruce, but a terrible Batman.

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

That's fair.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This... This makes sense.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah that's Clooney all right.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I disagree that he was a bad Bruce. I think he was the best post-West and pre-Bale, whereas Clooney was fine but in a gloriously camp film.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*live action. Conroy's voice will always be Bruce & Bats for me, and Hamill's Joker.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not a terrible Bruce, just doesn't fit the “playboy billionaire” that Bruce is.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I guess I can agree with that. He only really had one scene for that, and wasn't given much to do in it (I blame Jim Carrey for that).

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have heard of this thought before and I agree. I am biased towards Val Kilmer though. He’s just one of my favorite actors

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

He was awesome in so many movies but I just can't stand him as Batman

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve always loved Top Secret!, Real Genius, Heat, Tombstone, Top Gun, and he did a really great Jim Morrison. also How can I forget Willow!?

Sassy Alfred is best Alfred.

More Alfred who calls Bruce on all his shit. Cause he’s really good in Mask of the Phantasm and with Hawkgirl on JL as well.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And TAS Alfred is the sassiest

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I wasn't huge on Jeremy Irons, tbh. Still not bad, but I think they just picked an English guy. To be clear, I LIKE him just not as Alfred.

4 years ago | Likes 191 Dislikes 9

Ah yes, Jeremy Irons, "just a British guy"

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

He certainly seemed like it in this movie.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When the hell did Jeremy Irons play Alfred?!

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Weakest of the bunch for sure, but still pulled it off.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Snyderverse was a bad idea

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

That was just a bad movie on all sides

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had no idea he was ever Alfred wtf

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tbf, the movies he was in weren't much for character development, which is where Alfred typically shines.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

What did you not like about him?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

HIM? He was fine. I like him. I just think the writing was a bit thin.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What about the writing?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah but those movies didnt really get any characters right so he fit that version

4 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

He, like Andy Serkis are so incredibly underused, it's annoying..

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't think Andy Serkis is underused at all.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's a ~3hr long film, he has maybe 3 scenes, totalling, mayyyyybe 10 minutes. Not enough for me. He is good though! But I needed more!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed. Fantastic actor. Not at all a memorable performance.

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

He didn't get all that much screen time though IIRC. I'm sure he could've done more with more time.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There was a deleted scene where he instructed Diana on the fine art of English tea making. It puts him over the top as an Alfred.

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

He seemed like he didn't want to be in the movie

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I didn't want to be in the audience. (so I wasn't)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, he fit right in with the rest of the cast.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Haha yeah, it really was an older Alfred tired to death of trying to convince Bruce to stop beating up strangwrs every night

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I’m holding out for Jimmy Carr.

4 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 5

Until Bruce Wayne is investigated for not paying his taxes since he let Carr Alfred handle them

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can see it now. Constantly heckling Batman between cracking orphan jokes

4 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

I mean that is a valid Alfred take.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Absolutely! All with that added sneering misanthropic sarcasm that Carr would bring

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

*honking goose laugh* Master Bruce!

4 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 1

I actually thought he was one of the best parts of the Batfleck movies. That's not saying much, though, because they were...not great 1/

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I would like to say, that unlike some I don't blame Affleck. He could've been decent but the writing/storyline was so weak. 2/

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

although, as far as casting goes, I think the weakest link was Jesse Eisenberg...I mean what a non-threatening Luthor, my goodness. 3/3

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I can't disagree with that. I like him as an actor in general, but I think the decision to copy Heath Ledger's Joker wasn't the best.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I had little doubts in Affleck, my doubts were in starting off with BvS without establishing Bat. He never really got a chance to

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Really shine. Like he wasn't his own in BvS, he was just a team organizer In JL, and a cameo in suicide squad.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

I haven't seen Pennyworth so I can't comment on him, but I wasn't a fan of Douglas Hodge in Joker (or Joker). He's a decent actor, though.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

why does that Pierre guy look like Patrick Stewart with white hair?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just got a reminder that Batman Ninja is a thing that happened.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The real message of this image is how often the same characters are rebooted. Batman is great and all, but original ideas would be great too

4 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Well, Batman was an "original" idea when people got sick of Zorro being "rebooted" too many times /s

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree, there are hundreds of different characters from DC that are just as captivating as superman and batman. It sucks that they are so

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

focused on retelling the same story over and over because it guarantees easy views. Heck, I bet there's a bunch of writers in Hollywood

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

who have their own ideas for storys and characters that get looked over in favour of remaking something. I miss the 80s where Hollywood

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

was so coked up they would make any movie, and they came up with some of the best movies that were ever made.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You say that, but DC comics has been doing the same for decades. Reboot after reboot of the same characters.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's a very good point.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
