If one pays for the Ice Cream after it is obtained what stops many from walking away when the ice cream man starts with his antics, leaving him with unsold ice cream?
That what I would do. If you don't give me the option for having the show I'm not sticking around for the stupid game. I just want a cone of ice cream.
This is the same as when an item doesn't scan so it's free. His gimmick is to trick people. This kid is just slowing the line down. Or more like his parents told him to do it for the video.
This is cute, the ones who smash the cones or throw things at the guy is not. Taking the ice cream away and doing the dance is a part of the show. If you just wanted ice cream buy it in a container at the convenience store down the street. Going to these vendors you are asking for the show, its like getting mad that the blue man group covered you in toilet paper and glitter.
Then don't go to a blue man group performance, and if you don't want to do the dance with the cones, don't go to this type of turkish street vendor for your ice cream. You choose to go to a show, you get a show and all that it entails.
If you notice the clues in the video, this is in Kazakhstan. There is no Dairy Queen. And arguably, people go to this guy for ice cream, not necessarily to be jerked around with.
True, but I would argue that part of the game is finding a way to turn the tables or outsmart the trick. It's like putting on a magic show; you *know* everyone is trying to figure out the trick. If you aren't prepared for a little heckling back then you shouldn't be putting on this performance.
Dumb comparison. It would be like going to a restaurant that doesn't advertise they are a haunted house then being expected to sit through jump scares to get your meal. Either advertise explicitly or have it be optional.
I guess you might take a friend there that doesn’t know about these? Or stumble on one not knowing? Still - the tradition is light hearted and fun and harmless. Imitating them in a mocking way is sardonic. Either way, we disagree on what it’s similar to.
I don't think they're doing it maliciously, I think they're doing it like a lot of people who do things: They're seeing a viral video of something that was fun exactly once and are copying it in the hopes of going viral themselves, while every person over the age of 3 isn’t actually entertained by the same damn thing done a million times.

When he pushed his hand away, does that mean the ice-cream was free at that point?
MCNewYorkLives
Probably has to pay first

Not funny, disrespectful.

Yeah no shit. Just like when a fucking vendor does it, right?

brandonblk
yeah
BrdCdn
Sometimes you just want a single cone to walk around with. Buying a container is not a valid alternative. The stupid show should be optional.
thetinymonarch
I'm sure if you asked for no funny business they would just give you it.
MCNewYorkLives
Im sure there are places nearby to get an ice cream cone
chut7
I mean, the reason you go to these places is to play the game. If you don't like the game, go to Dairy Queen.
SpaceNinjaPirateCowboy

Agree. Doing this is the same energy as going to a haunted house and yelling BOO at the actors. Rude. Don’t know why people are down voting you.
