9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The 'western' hat is a Stetson

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What, no bucket hat?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It makes me unreasonably happy that the Stormy Kromer is included in this list

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Finally, a visual guide to the difference between a Trilby and a Fedora! Thousands of neckbeards rejoice!

I think I would try to pull off a ushanka if only I didn't live in the American south.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No deer stalker?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've not felt this much pride in a long time, as when I see that Stormy Kromer is listed as a distinct hat style. Go UP.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Y'know, there was a time when I actually liked the look of fedora and trilby hats (never owned one though). But, they've been ruined for me.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I've also been told I'm a "nice guy" and a "gentleman", but they've ruined that for me too. This shit has got to go. Humans need to get- 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Their shit together. All humans, we're making the human race look to be a race of buffoons. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

the trapper is, in norwegian, called "bear-pussy"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Question for people here, in your opinions what would be a better hat for day to day use derby or homburg??

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They were both used day to day, but still considered formal (though not as formal as a top hat). Personally, I like the derby better.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I like the derby a bit more, I'm mainly asking because I am looking at having a hat made to go with a wedding suit and everyday use

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless it is cold, raining, or you are watching sports, hats aren't an "in" thing.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Pretty much this, but baseball caps can be worn pretty much any time.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Newsboy or flat cap would in my opinion be a bit more, lack of a better word, chic. Baseball cap is more sporty and a bit juvenile.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hmm...yes. Shallow and pedantic.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

..?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

What a hoser, eh?

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Don't toques have pointier crowns? A watch cap is decidedly rounded.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Anything that falls under "knit cap" is what we refer to as a toque https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knit_cap

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, in Canada at least a toque is pretty much any knit hat, rounded, pointed, pom, no pom etc..

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Beanie in PA? Toboggan in the south?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A toboggan is a type of sled.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not in the south!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Skully, beanie, winter hat.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Stocking cap

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Winter hat? That's so generic! Isn't a trapper hat a winter hat too?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

not according to wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toque ">ki/Toque">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toque https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knit_cap#Other_names

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It literally says that a toque is the correct name for a watch cap there in the toque page.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

correct? no, it says *canadians* call it a that. that's like...the opposite of 'correct'. besides, they spell it 'tuque' or 'touque'. :P
