Slow-motion entertainment all night

Emergency crews are really blazing in to help.

----------------
This happened back in 2010. Apparently no one was hurt. If this stormy winter weather keeps up, Seattle might see snow again. Brace yourself!

The full video is 5 minutes or so & is quite funny. Original sauce is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhZCyQ3emQg

haha the first one!

Everything was going so well until the bus showed up.

This pairs amazingly with The Blue Danube waltz

WeeeeeeeeeeeeFUUUUUCCCCKK

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe going to the top of the hill and stopping people would have been a better idea.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Could you imagine if it snowed in San Fransico?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dude. I lived there for 6 years. Even rain shuts shit down there.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a bus driver this is my biggest fear

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ice driving is a great spectator sport around here.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

People driving like crazy up here in Tacoma, hope it doesn't get that bad

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's all down hill from here

I'm a Canadian living next to the University. This scene is my street every winter when the from-out-of-country students go driving.

Well, "the same as my street", Image for proof: http://imgur.com/uQVnaRh

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Seattle!! I live here to!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Snow really must be rare there... because that's like almost no snow and no one knows how to drive in it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Once every couple years, mostly rain...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lived in the Midwest and now PNW, the snow here is much different and very difficult to drive in. Super slippery all of the time.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And where is that one quattro audi who is going up the hill like it simply doesn't care about the street being slippery?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not too fast, still kinda furious

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

- Hill probably

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The best part is that the people inside are probably all like "oh shit! FUCK! AHHHHHHHHH!!" As they slowly, gracefully spin out hahaha

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

worst drifts i've ever seen, i don't think this fast and furious movie will do well at the box office

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Moved to Seattle over 2 yrs ago, walked outside today and almost broke my ass slipping on snow. I was not prepared

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

P.S.A. dont hit the breaks dummy

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...at all, hit the gas and go out like the star u are, but na fr slow yourself down dont lock yourself up

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

lol, lol, lol, lol, OH FUCK A BUS

9 years ago | Likes 778 Dislikes 1

Oh Queen Anne.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My reaction exactly

9 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

Always waited for something like that to happen on my way to work, just to call the boss to say "you'll never guess what happened..."

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 buses. literally 4 freaking buses got stuck on an icy road all at once in Portland this week. Ice storms are seriously hilarious.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... *gasp* ARRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And then a firetruck. Was that on account of my mixtape or yours?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There were a few if those accordion buses that did the same thing

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

v

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it is all fun and giggles until the bus slide down

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A heavy has entered the game.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One of my friends told me about this at the time! She was on one of those buses!. Haha. Now I live in Seattle. This snow wasn't that bad.

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Not a lot of snow, but look at the road surface. It's ice.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love in the PNW and during the storm this video is from I couldn't leave the house because of downed trees. Boss thought I was lying :/

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

GET OFF THE BREAKS!!!! IF YOU START SLIDING AND LOCK YOUR BREAKS YOU LOSE YOUR STEERING..PUMP AND STEER

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 3

Turn into the slide and try not to hit the breaks.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*Brakes, and on a solid sheet of ice it makes no difference. There's essentially no traction to be had.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So much this. How nobody seems to know this? How are people allowed to drive if they don't know how to control a vehicle?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I live in San Diego and spun out in the rain one time and almost lost my life. Thinking of moving to Mexico

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well as someone who lives in australia, if I moved to someplace where this happened I would probably have been blindsided by it completely.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

it's way harder when on a hill tho. I live on a steep one and when you're going 15-20with no control it's hard to try for 30 with no control

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The friction coefficient of ice is half that of snow, and only 11% of wet asphalt. Add an incline, and you're pretty much fucked regardless.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You don't need to brake if you down shift and let the engine do it for you in a low gear (yes, in an automatic car).

no, first gear, for example cannot go over 20mph, where as 4th could hit 100 and put crazy strain on your transmission.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The engine/transmission work differently, and require no gas at all to go down hill, the engine will try to slow the car gently and safely.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't use gas though... it's not meant for that you'll red line with just a touch of gas.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Normally not in a modern(ish) car with anti skid reduction.. if you light up the wheels spinning then yeah you don't want that is it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bless you for trying to teach us snow amateurs. I'm from Florida & always do this for people trying to drive through rain.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Canadian here: In a rear wheel drive vehicle, that can cause your tires to lock.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

By lock I mean lose traction and slide, defeating the purpose.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you're in a rear wheel drive in snow... in Canada no less. You are getting whatever you deserve.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Portland here; ice storms are the best thing ever. It's this odd unspoken agreement that everything closes except for bars.

9 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 0

And Taco Bell

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Here in Florida, it's Waffle House when we have a hurricane.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. Except when you're too drunk to walk, they cut you off, and you have to walk home.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I skip that step I go from sober to functioning drunk to death

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You don't understand! I live on a hill!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wisconsin says "Pussies." But seriously though, aren't you on the same latitude ish as WI? Weird we get so much more snow and ice.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The other side of the state, Spokane, gets all the snow and fun. Seattle just get the rain before it goes over the pass.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ocean currents, basically. That, and the way mountains and valleys trap air.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Japanese air curent keeps it mild and rainy on the Pacific northwest coast.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Lucky motha f******, all we get is cold air from Canada.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm going to Portland for the first time next month. This gig made me worried. Should I be worried about driving on the streets there? 1)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've lived in Cali my whole life so I'm not familiar with this weather. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mean, I'm from MA, so hard for me to be unbiased. I would say just drive slow, pump your breaks. Just use common sense.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's the ice that makes things dangerous. When it snows it melts then freezes. Just don't drive.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah damnit. Already paid for the car rental. How's the weather in January?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ice is very rare. We just dealt with it but it was gone in a day. You'll be fine.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. The ice is already melted today. We rarely get ice storms, but when we do the entire population panics and forgets how to drive.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks. Appreciate the input :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, tourist tip. If you manage to get a clear-ish day, take a drive to Council Crest park and enjoy the view. Best view in the entire city

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll keep that in mind! Thanks!
