Notice how in every poster for Star Wars the backdrop and gloom overlooker is the villain (Or soon to be villain in Clone Wars.) Why is Luke used as this in the poster for The Last Jedi? Some weird food for thought.

If you draw Vader's mask on any of the movie posters, you'll clearly see Vader's mask on them. Those artists, man. So sublime.

Lukes lightsaber is the villain in retun of the jedi!

My god! they are right! if you select only movie posters that fit the trend the trend fits! just ignore this

shhh..let people be wrong about things.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Actually, op used only original posters. And if you're gonna argue revenge of the Jedi on me, don't. Vader is 80% of it.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

But this style of poster correlates with the others, there a few other Last Jedi Posters too.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I would argue it's not necessarily the villain, but more of the character who drives change for that film

Luke Obi and Qui were all very much in the grey as far as light and dark. Being highlighted as a villain would not surpriuse me.

And Snoke has yet to have a full presentation. Can't really use him as the backdrop yet.

To be fair Palpatine was the Master behind Vader but he was never used as backdrop either.

I was actually thinking that as well.

Rogue One was the best Star Wars outside of the original trilogy. What the fuck are you smoking?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ha! Apparently, whatever it is, isn't good enough. I didn't care for it at all, but agree it was better than the prequel.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's just because cloaks look cool.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

this is also the first of the posters where the color scheme is mainly sith-colors, and Luke is basically the villain from the sithside.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

And if you compare the two most recent, "main" good and bad have swapped places, representing the possible viewpoint in this movie.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's all about shades of grey this time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe Luke booked it because he had dark side tendencies and wanted to self-banish because he might have influenced his nephew?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No wait, that would be a good story, definitely not the case for Star Wars.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Plot twist, Jedi are now considered the bad guys in the Star Wars Universe.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

A lot of people just see them as evil space wizards, same as the Sith.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is a Drew Struzan piece; he puts a ton of thought and care into them. He is one of the few people still doing the whole thing by hand.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anatagonist*. Vader wasn't the bad guy in RotJ, that was the Emperor. Vader was the one to end the Sith in RotJ

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I agreed at first but then it occurred to me that the apprentice had to kill the master for the line of master&apprentice to continue...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is less heroic when it is just a sith doing sith things. Killing the master and hiring a new guy is what they do. That's what happens

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

when you keep writing story but have zero ability to plan. Though Lucas proved during the prequels that he couldn't even do shit properly

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when he already knew what was supposed to happen.

I'm still betting on that Luke has become a gray Jedi.

that would actually be quite the redemption for the prequels

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Assuming different species can procreate successfully together in the first place, I doubt the offspring would look wholly like one race.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Inter species children were shown in the clone wars series, episode 'the deserter' the kids were half clone half twi'lek. They looked weird.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Darth maul isn't some painted weirdo. He's a Dathomirian Zabrak. Not human.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But how? It was said there was no father. The only thing i could think of is darth plagueis using mitichlorians to create him.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 6

There's a theory out there that it was actually Palpatine that manipulated them and was thus Anakin's "Father."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Plageius and Sidious bother fucking with the force radiated out and forced fertilized an egg. True story.

Mark Hamill said he thought nothing could surprise him but this script surprised him. And Luke says the Jedi must end. He's the villain.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

my guess is some sort of "grey" moderate way of doing it, no more jedi, no more sith, -a galactic order of knights to protect the senate

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

one theory that makes a lot of sense to me is that he's done research into the origins of the Jedi order, wherein he found out that they>

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

>aren't worth trying to rebuild, while Rey might be there to show him that light and dark can coexist.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's a single line taken out of context, it could be from the start of the film and he's depressed and doesnt want to train more jedi.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think villain is a bridge too far. Based on what I've seen, Luke has given up on the Light and instead turned to the balance.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This would be so great and SO much more sophisticated if true.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Would be cool if he is a gray Jedi.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But then where does that leave Smoke? I understand you can have more then one villain. But with Star Wars it always seemed to be pupil 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

And Master. Snoke and Luke are both masters and old fucks in their own right. It will be interesting. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It seems like Kylo and Rey might both reject their respective masters and pursue their own agendas, possibly together. Who knows?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So personally, I doubt there is any correlation to the posters. Vader is the overlooker in the OT posters because he's the 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

overarching villain in all 3. The prequel posters really don't have much rhyme or reason to them honestly. There are holes in the theory.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a theory out there that Snoke is basically an ancient force vampire. He's been munching on force users to regenerate himself. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2/2 Disappointing if true, but it does solve the mystery of Kylo's primitive style of lightsaber, and what he's doing to Rey in the trailer.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Possibly Rey and Kylo team up at the end to defeat the darkness that took over luke, why has Luke been hiding all this time, must be a reaso

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Also I don't know alot about star wars so forgive me if this idea is flawed

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or their roles reverse, Kylo turn good in the end and Rey turns her back and joins the dark side

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Makes sense, in the trailer Luke looks scared of Rey but seems to keep her in the dark about her origins so she goes to snoke to find out

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm still hoping this happens. I have a crazy theory that Rey is a Palpatine clone and that's why Luke is conflicted about her - she's

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Destined to have Palpatine eventually show himself. That's why Snoke wants her so badly - to make Palpatine fully manifest himself. Kylo

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2
