The better half and I were driving back home from the Cresent City when we passed by this. I immediately woke her up from her nap so she could snap these pics

The guy slowed down so we could get a better pick of the decal.

And we got this one when we were in traffic.

P.S. never try to edit photos on your smartphone, took me twenty (20) minutes to scratch out the plates

Everyone can see the plates on the highway, it's no secret.

You better call your local authorities because I don't think they have the rights to use the Hot Wheels logo, I'm sure you already have.

That awkward moment when the plates still visible in the first picture

This sticker is dangerous, but I do love Fig Newtons.

Hey thanks for waking up the passenger to take these instead of going on your phone while driving. +1 for not being a reckless driver!

They would be harassed all to hell in MO. I've been stopped twice for having 2 different air fresheners hanging from my mirror.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The sticker is a lie, you can't see shit out the back of a C7 anyway. Using the backup camera is basically mandatory.

If it makes you feel better his passenger was the one taking the photos.

Ok, that's better. :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Plates are public information and hundreds of people see your plates every day,I don't know why people blur them out in pictures...

9 years ago | Likes 111 Dislikes 6

It's so their plates don't get copied if someone's looking to ditch their plates. Less needed for a car like this, but still polite

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also OP didn't blur them out in the first photo and you can clearly see the plates of 3 cars...so

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not that big of a deal, but a lot more people will see them if it's on the internet. Just more unnecessary exposure.

9 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

Ah like federal gun registration...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's a sad fact, but sometimes people on the inteenet are crazy. Like some anti-hot wheels will start protesting. even worse, the trademark.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

err'in on the side of caution for respect and privacy. Also if they happen to be doing something illegal, some states can use it against <

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

>them if you can make out the plate and the driver.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

If they are doing something illegal, then they SHOULD be exposed...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Simple fix: Stop breaking the law.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ignorance. And I don't mean that in a bad way, people think the info MIGHT be used for negative reasons so they cover it. They're just ...

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

... being careful in possibility that they're right.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

This right here.

Friend bought a Subaru WRX in 04. Came w SCCA membership. He took it racing. They saw pics and voided his warranty. Always obscure plates.

9 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 2

"Friend" is D.U.M.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha. It really was a friend.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SCCA events usually publish their results with full name and year\make\model of the vehicles. Prolly wasn't just the pics.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Or don't take pics. Or don't race a new car. Or don't buy new cars. Or don't race. Etc. Etc.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

Or take off plates.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's scca?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sports Car Club of America.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why did that take 20 min to do on a smartphone?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Different people have different talents. @OP seems not to be skilled at editing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So kind you are

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, plate is visible in the first picture.

9 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 5

Yeah, he took the time to black it out of the last picture, but completely forgot about the first.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The plate is also visible if you look at the car when it's driving on the road. There's no reason to block it out.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's also just common privacy. People on the road are meant to see your plates. People worldwide on the internet are not.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why are people worried about plates in pics anyway. Anyone in public can see your plates all the time. I've always wondered this.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

If the photos were of a nondescript vehicle doing something stupid/rude you perhaps wouldn't want to be party to some idiot's vigilantism.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Car cloning, that's why :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can't see the VIN ; )

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nor can the speed cameras :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True true

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who gives a fuck, man. Why do you feel the need to point this out?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 58

He/She probably pointed it out because OP took the time to black out the tag in the last picture, because OP didn't want to share the tag.
