I support this and want more.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

God fucking dammit that's not how you pronounce oregon!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not to be picky but France has also lost a war to Vietnamese farmers

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

.

"We don't pronounce it like that." ~All Oregonians...Ever.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

God knows I was about to comment that. We even have commercials making fun of people who pronounce it that way. Really not that hard.

One could say that bar plummeted like a crashed plane...

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 13

Ah yes, that common expression, "plummeted like a crashed plane"

Thanks, Brant!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#3 Well it probably didn't immediately cool off a minute later, right?

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I'd take your word, but I guess you weren't there to experience it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That troubles me. It's a huge amount of heat and should dissipate in a minute. Surely it would raise ambient temperature for a while.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think it does, because only the shockwave itself has such a high temperature. (Not quite sure though)

The reason for the high temperature is the extreme compression of air and the power of the wave obviously decreases with increasing spread.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the "Vietnamese Farmers" one, they forgot to highlight France, Japan, and China. Poor statistics

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Mars is a joke. embarrassing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's "ory-gun" -An Oregonian living in Texas.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you! The amount of people that pronounce it "ory-gawn" is irritating

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The top oregon one drives me nuts. It's pronounced "or-again"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 that doesn't make sense because it's ore-y-gun

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You had me at Oregon. I'll give you a +1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As an Oregonian I am so triggered by the first one

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Ditto

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fellow Oregonian. It forces people to say our state wrong!!!! Like they need help!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Myanmar uses the Freedom Measurement System as well.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Mars, you are a disgrace to the entire solar system!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#1 is funny because I'm from Oregon and I can relate!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We didn't really lose to the farmers though... v

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 13

Yeah you did. Its alright though. The Vietnamese don't care.

"First of all we didn't lose the war, it was a tie". -Red Forman

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

And anyway, if the US is blue, you'd have to put France in blue too. We did kinda take over from them.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

So Hitler killed Hitler...well, I guess he wasn't all that bad then huh?

9 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 2

He's simultaneously the best and the worst at the same time.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is just a theory, but what if time travelers from an alternate timeline came back and killed hitter to make it seem like a suicide in

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

An attempt to stop him from taking over the world. And all the other assassination attempts were other time travelers who failed.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm just asking questions.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Those are the most important questions.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

but he also killed the guy who killed Hitler.

9 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 1

-1 + 1 - 1 + 1 - 1 + 1 ... an infinite series that can be arranged to sum to anything.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It actually sums to one half.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, it's divergent. The Cesáro sum, in this case, is -1/2, which is the average of its partial sums.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was thinking of the Cesaro sum.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He also killed the guy who killed the guy who killed hitler

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#3. hiroshima did not cool down that quickly. #5 missed lots of lakes. #9 left out france.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 4

And Liberia and Myanmar don't use the metric

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

France uses the metric system....

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

And lost to Vietnam before the US did.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

#9 is wrong. There are 3 countries that don't use the metric system: USA, Myanmar, and another one that I'm too lazy to google.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

It's called the Freedom Measurement System good sir.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The French also lost to Vietnamese farmers...

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

...And they use the metric system. +1 for you, kind person

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And France has also lost a war to Vietnamese farmers

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Liberia? (Now googling it). Yes it's Liberia.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

UK does almost as much of a hour-long of systems as the US. Miles, stones, pints are all common there.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

We use metric in Finland, but we also have a few quaint old measurement units like: tiu, leiviskä, kappa, peninkulma and poronkusema.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As an American, what do you measure with "stones"

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

People.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cough cough, France lost to Vietnam, cough cough.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

End of WW2 all UN nations agreed to end ALL Colonial Rule. France Decolonised Indochina, same as with Algeria. Know your historical facts.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Ever heard of the first Indochina war. Just cause they agreed to it doesn't mean they went quietly into the night.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Who the fuck was N/A, and why?

9 years ago | Likes 283 Dislikes 4

It's not recognised by the UN

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

A place with 0 capita.. and you can't divide by zero

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I really think this was the point. Not the Kosovo thing. Thank you for not making me be the only one.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Per capita means per head so some heads were missing bodies?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

have you people seriously never seen a map before

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 11

Who do you mean by 'you people'?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kosovo, I guess because it's a disputed territory?

9 years ago | Likes 179 Dislikes 1

Correct.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

KOCOBO JE CPБИJA!!!!!

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 25

Why downvotes? Story of Kosovo is kind of tragedy to Serbian people.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Wat does that say?

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's Macedonia, but I don't understand any connection between population and per capita.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

It's Kosovo - Macedonia is the lumpy round one to the south-east.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Oops, sorry.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

It's name is Kosovo. It claimed independence Feb 2008 from Serbia. It had a 2011 census: 1.7 million people. It still bugs me.

Do a poll of Americans and ask them if they think we should invade the EU to stop socialism, the majority will say yes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I agree but not for that reason

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Belarus is not there. You can find it easily, it's marked with 1.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure it's name is Kosovo. It claimed independence Feb 2008 from Serbia. It had a 2011 census: 1.7 million people.

Does Serbia collect taxes from Kosovo? At at least 90% efficiency? Because if you can't force them to pay taxes you aren't their government.

I heard Hitler isn't dead. Also, most (if not all) countries that use the metric system, also use some other nonmetric units. Buy me a pint?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

I heard that too... apparently the Russians regrettably mis-labeled some chick's head as "Hitler". An honest mistake, I'm sure.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The man was born in 1889. I'm sure he is dead by now.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

He died on his 100th birthday, and was reincarnated as my close friend, who was born exactly 100 years after him, to a day. Guy HATES juice.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That guy is one day older than me, and my parents purposefully chose for me to be born a day later (c-section) for that very reason.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kinda odd how people care about birthdays enough to delay childbirth. I mean, here no one gives a shit if you share a birthday with someone.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, it wasn't really like they delayed it, but more like they didn't rush it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Other than the UK I know of no countries, at least we don't and our neighbours don't either.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, there are TONS of non metric units everywhere still in use. Some stuff like mile roads in the US can't change. Train gauges, barrels...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

of oil, time isn't metric, atmospheres of pressure, some money, planes everywhere still use altitude in feet, watts, volts, etc.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Right, those are completely different things though. We weren't at all on the same page...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The point is: I can measure something in feet just as accurately as you can measure it in meters. I can describe something in barrels of...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

3/4 =75% of the population: now that's funny

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

Figure that one out on your own, did you?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I just liked how nonchalantly it was explained as something incredible when it obviously is basic math
