I’m 32 and I’m really considering getting snipped. I don’t think the world really needs more people in it right now and to be honest I don’t want the financial burden in these insane times. If I ever do want kids I’ll adopt. Honestly we should do more research on finding a way to “cut” men that’s easily reversible as the leading form of birth control. It just makes more sense to unload the gun than to make the target chemically bulletproof or putting a bullet proof bag over the gun

Good for you! I did the same quite a few years ago. No more need for my wife to take birth control pills - I really didn't like the idea of a daily chemical dose for her anyway. So many scare stories about swelling and pain, I had neither, I hope you don't too.

It's not really too bad. I was in and out in 30 minutes. They have an incision-free procedure (basically a burst of air) so you don't get stitches. It aches like you got kicked in the nuts for a few days, but that's it.

Did mine in '02. No regrets. As MANY people will tell you... follow the advice on rest and ice. Blow it off at your own peril. I followed them and had no problems. Others did not... oops.

Did the same at 35. My experience was great & pain-free. The worst part was my feet in stir-ups, exposed to the doc (and the ladies have to do this a lot more & it's more intrusive, so I'm not complaining).

Two things. Follow your doctor's after care directions. Don't be a fool. Also, return your specimens for testing. I did, and four weeks post vasectomy, I was back t0 100% fertility, and had to go back in for a second one. The first was the simple in-office procedure, the second one was in the hospital under twilight anesthesia, so they could cut open a little further an make sure the tubes were sealed off.

The vasectomy is not complete until the full set of specimens all return clear.

Been doing research and I've read that in the US, it's $500-$1000 on average. That is nothing compared to the alternative(s). I'd cough up $900 to never have a one night stand come knocking with a 2 year old.

I went in, no anxiety, everyone says it's no big deal. Anesthetic didn't work. Most painful thing of my life. Soaked my clothes in sweat; made a sweat angel. Balls ached for about 5 years. Best part is that a few months after my vasectomy, my wife got a test done and promptly had her uterus removed, rendering my procedure redundant.

Went great for me. Doc used local anaesthesia, snipped, and that was it. Three days after I was shagging the girlfriend. No pain.

You can get it done under anesthesia in a same day surgery center so that you're not awake during the procedure. It will cost you 5x more money. But you can do it. This is how I plan to have it done.

Those anxiety meds made EVERYTHING feel alright! After they kicked in I was asking the nurse to take photos of the incision site for me. That was embarrassing. They thought it was funny.

Was uncomfortable for like a day and a half. No real pain afterwards. Went to an art show that night. Worst part was smelling the charred flesh as they carterized my tubes. Good part was the cute nurse holding 'me' up and out of the way.
