Considering the lack of arms, this is surprisingly alarming.

How to kick someone while they're down while also checking to see if they're okay.

Is this nugget porn?

I actually know where this is from. It's an Argentinian anti-smoking ad that got pulled from tv after 1 day: https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ

An armless midget in a loincloth wearing a WW2 era helmet kicking a cracked toppled plaster man; the closest it's gotten to LNI in a while.

This is Alejandro Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain produced in 1973. Makes Clockwork Orange look like a Disney movie.

just looked on the wiki page for this and it surprises me not that the director got the actors to do some mushrooms. bloody hell

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

honestly I can't stand movies like this, where just are weird to make a statement, and don't really focus on an actual story

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

It does, it just doesn't tell it plainly. NyxFears on youtube had a really good video on it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

None of the ultraviolence in Holy Mt though, and more direct social commentary

I didn't understand the controversy over "A Clockwork Orange". Those guys never really did anything "ultra violent". Besides, the 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

leader's brainwashing was more fucked up than anything they did. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Wait are you saying I shouldn't have shown Clockwork Orange to my 6 year old niece?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Depends, are you the cool uncle or the creepy uncle?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think that depends on what she thought of the movie

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's worth noting that Clockwork Orange is full of unsettling violence, while The Holy Mountain is full of love and GOD DAMNED WACKINESS.

9 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 1

I own that movie, and I found it less violent than Robocop and Alien.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It's less bloody. Fewer people are hurt / killed, but the way the violence is depicted is, IMO, more disturbing in Clockwork Orange.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's because Kubrick kinda blurred the lines between sex and violence in that film. Alex's promiscuity is seen almost as a crime itself.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The unsettling part is the center of the violence in CWO... methinks

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I thought Alex's brainwashing was more unsettling.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Isn't that act violent in and off itself?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not setting a very high standard for "less violent." It's like "Somewhere between Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Thing"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm talking about the sadistic quality of violence here, not gore. Obviously ACO is less bloody than most action / horror films. But the-

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

jubilant cruelty that Alex and his droogs carry out, along with the cruelty of his "treatment" is more disturbing than squishy gunshots etc.
