Spelunky

++ : Highly addictive. A really graduating feeling of progession. Lots of secrets. Perfect soundtrack. Kiss from a pug included.
-- : It is so hard not to kill each other when throwing a stone at a spider.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/239350/
Original version : http://spelunkyworld.com/original.html

Battleblock Theater

++ : Great sense of humour, really challenging, cute cats. I said : cute cats.
-- : A bit too short.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/238460/

Don't Starve Together

++ : Best survival game imo, absolutely time-consuming.
-- : The most punitive game I ever played.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/322330/

Guacamelee

++ : Very nice artistic direction ! Original, enjoyable and fluid.
-- : Bit too short also. But that's the only con I can think of.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/214770/

Nuclear Throne

++ : Many possibilities, much frustration, nice rewards !
-- : Ended up playing with the same characters over and over.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/242680/

Gauntlet

++ : Co-op also online. Good difficulty progession. Classic.
-- : Only two characters are really interesting when upgraded. Arcade mode presents not much interest.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/258970/

Enter the Gungeon

++ : Fun, with secrets rooms and guns absolutely everywhere.
-- : Many guns but not that many ways of shooting, sad.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/311690/

Towerfall

++ : Friendly fire, punchy, and addictive.
-- : Not enough levels (but more recently added).

http://store.steampowered.com/app/251470/

Dead Nation

++ : Zombies everywhere ! True co-op and moments of real tension.
-- : Not enough differents guns (you'll be hearing that woman's voice in your head for a long time).

http://www.housemarque.com/games/dead-nation/

BroForce

++ : Lots of references, bloody good time, feeling like a true hardcore hero when a mission is completed (that guitar solo...!).
-- : Characters quickly unlocked. Not enough missions.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/274190/

Binding of Isaac Rebirth

++ : Every benefits of the original without having to wait your turn.
-- : Not exactly a co-op game... more a way of helping/ getting your partner killed.

Cats tax

What about risk of rain?

Good list! Hyper Light Drifter is a recent purchase on Steam and I've been having a blast with it. I'll probably talk about it for months.

Stardew Valley bitches!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Enter The Gungeon is SOOOOOO good.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Towerfall is seriously so much fun! I'd also recommend 'Speed Runners'.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Any fans of Trine on here? Loved that one.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

What about crypt of the necrodancer?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Didn't liked it that much actually...Harder in coop mode I think.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Risk of Rain is pretty good too

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I love battle block theatre ever since I got it with gold

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Great sense of humor, really challenging, a bit too short." Sounds like what my last two girlfriends had to say about me.

10 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

This made me laught way too much :D

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My personal favourite is Orcs Must Die 2. Played nearly 200h of that with my girlfriend. So much fun.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm playing it with a friend and we're on the verge of finishing it. Once you find trap you're comfortable with is awesome.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Upgraded brimstone and wall grinders were a couple of my favourites. And the lightning ring was a must choose 90% of the time.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Castle Crashers is awesome and even better than Battle Block in my opinion. Both are from the same devoloper

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't think you can compare the two. Though I didn't play that much castle crashers

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hesitated but since I did not played coop on Castle Crashers, I wasn't sure it belonged to the list...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It really really does ;)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

later reminder for myself #9

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You won't regret it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That would be nice. I will probably test it next week.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mercenary Kings!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me and @roserapaine spent entirely too much time trolling each other in Battleblock, and I loved every minute of it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that the gauntlet from Game Cube?? And of course it's not for Xbox one. +1 I'll have to check some of these out!!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I hope you'll these as much as I did ! :)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actuallu, it got another remake, and is available on Steam for pc.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactlu.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No shovel knight?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

maybe you're referring to the wii u version because the pc version has no coop :[

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OP didn't limit to only PC

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

well considering all the links are to the steam store I just assumed OP meant PC

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the new gauntlet sucks ass, bring me a remake of the n64 version

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It had a beefed up update awhile back. Better, but still missing something.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i'll have to try it again, i hated it at launch

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hammerwatch should really be on that list, if you haven't played it yet you should.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I will :)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

kinda plays like Gauntlet with a lot more AHGGGG.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude, Spelunky is a reboot of the freeware original. Include this link too. http://spelunkyworld.com/original.html

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Done !

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A recent one for you OP: Factorio. Stranded on a planet, your only hope of leaving is to build your own rocket through automation. 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

FACTORIO IS THE SHIT

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not very action-y, its all about solving logistic problems, resource and time management, and fending off hordes of alien beasts.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

ouuuuuuuh will try !!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is or was for a bit the highest rated game on steam, with a 99.7 something percent positive review rate.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love Factorio! A friend of mine and I just launched our first rocket! Can't wait for new content!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No stardew valley? That game is life.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Doesn't have coop yet.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He is currently in the process of adding it though. He never expected the game to take off like it did so he had to add it in after the fact

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know, which is why the "yet" in the end.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look into Risk of Rain. Side scroller rogue like, hard as nails but tons of fun, a good amount of content, and coop gets insane

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

only problem with RoR coop is if you're not the host, and you go through the extra levels where hundreds of mobs spawn your game will crash.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Love me some RoR, but I play it solo most of the time. I'm greedy with the items!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Will definitively try then, thanks !

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hard as nails until you pick up the Command artifact. Then you can make yourself hilariously overpowered.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Eon Altar(Phone controllers), Hammerwatch, Hero Siege, Relic Hunters Zero(FREE), Zombie Party, Zombie Vikings(CastleCrashersClone).

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A...full list of games I haven't played yet ? Santa is that you ?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Along with most of your list, this is what my fiancee and I play on the weekends!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is so cool, thanks a lot !

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just started Trine too. Oh and Warlocks VS Shadows isn't bad, bit repetitive but really fun classes.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You should look up "Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime" That'll test your relationship to the limits.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's challenging ... will try thanks !

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

GOD DAMMIT, GET TO THE SHIELD. NO, THE SHIELD. THE FUCKING SHIELD. Now we're dead. I hope you're happy

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And watch the Steam Train!!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Check out Stardew Valley. It's $15 on Steam, and i've spent 112 hours in it already. Totally worth my money. 1 guy made it over 4 years

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

It's on my wish list, but I'm a poor person. Only heard of it through Starbound's news feed. Because Chucklefish, y'know.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

YES. I love Stardew. I have 105 hours in it.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My boss asked why I was so cranky the other day and I told him I had been playing SV for 20 hours before work, he said "my roommate's been /

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Playing that game non stop that's all he talks about" lol great game

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks I'll try this one as well !

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It'll also be getting multiplayer eventually

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You've probably heard of them, but if not, check out Terraria and Starbound.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

'IT WAS LIKE POSIODEN OFFERED HIS HAND IN FRIENDSHIP, AND THEY SPAT IN HIS MOUTH.' God, I loved the cut scenes in battleblock.

10 years ago | Likes 211 Dislikes 0

Buckle your pants!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

IT WAS HOPELESS! AND IF YOU REARRANGE HOPELESS IT BECOMES PEESLOSH!

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Hold on to your butts!

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

"Then I'd pack myself a nice bag lunch, show these cats my faaavorite finger, then make like horse turds and hit the trail!"

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

AND THEN THE OCEAN WAS LIKE, PSYCH!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

for the curious and/or lazy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT0cKdWlngU

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thanks, you fantastic.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ITS A SECRET!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Battleblock theater provides me with rich, buttery sustenance.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

PSYCH!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

YOU WERE POISONED? I WILL CALL HOSPITAL

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

OH BOY, YOU ARE ONE SPICY LITTLE FART.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Ok this just convinced me to get this game.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've had this game on Xbox for the past few months and never played it. Guess I gotta play it now.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Stamper did an amazing job narrating that game.

10 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

Heck yea he did. At the last agdq, they had him on the phone while they were speed running the game. It was fantastic.

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Wait really? I NEED TO FIND THIS. I fuckin' love Stamper.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Yea, and since they were doing 2p any%, he was joining with his in game voice of berating the players for not collecting.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Omg that sounds awesome. Got a YouTube link?

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Check out divinity: original sin

10 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 1

Isn't Chris Avellone working on the sequel?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have way to many hours logged in that game. Me and my friend have beaten it twice and each play through takes about 60-80 hours.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks for the advice :)

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You should really try it out, me and my BF enjoy the coop mode a lot! I think it's worth the money

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think that's an indie.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It was a kickstarter

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know, but I wouldn't say a 1 million project is an indie game.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Indie just means independent, which is exactly what kind of studio Larian is. They aren't funded by a publisher.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fair enough, it's still a really fun coop game. I wouldn't count Larian among the big game developers though despite their success with this

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would add Rogue Legacy.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Loved it but no coop mode :)

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I see you love coop :) I'm 35 and I don't have gaming friends so the lack of coop it's not an issue for me.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I understand this, meeting my fiancé, aka greatest gaming friend ever, changed my way of playing gmes, suddently making me like coop :)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I envy you! My wife doesn't care about games. Playing coop would've made our relationship much more entertaining.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(Did prev answer appeared?) Playing solo is also cool, and having so. to restrain you from playing too much might be useful sometimes :)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But the list is for coop...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ooops, I didn't realize :p

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're alright. As I progressed down the comments, people kept naming more and more indie games that aren't co-op.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hate to tell you, gauntlet isn't indie. It's been around since the coin-op days. Source: me. I've wasted lots of money on it.

10 years ago | Likes 237 Dislikes 3

Valkyrie, your life force is running out

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Red Warrior needs food

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A gem.....yay...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Elf shot the food

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah wasn't there an NES version?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes! My bro and I played the hell out of that game.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dark Legacy on XBox was one of my favorite games to play with my friends as a kid.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The studio that made the most recent incarnation is fairly small. I'd take it on a technicality. Also super fun.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, the hours and hours...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"ahhhhhhhh the health actually drops with time!? put in another quarter!!! I need 100 more seconds of health points!!!"

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

was totally disappointed in the new one. lacked all the character and fun of dark legacy

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I read that and whispered to myself "it was one of the leading multiplayer games in the early 80's" then "fuck I'm old".

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yup. I played mine on Gamecube.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yep, developed by Arrowhead and published by Warner Bros., making it not-indie. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/5cuzj7i1Whs/maxresdefault.jpg

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My GF and I almost got sucked into Gauntlet Legends this past weekend. They had it at this minigolf place. Damn that ticking health!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've not seen such bravery!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've played it on the NES! I loved that game

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yellow wizard needs food badly.

10 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

I NEED SUSTENANCE!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Blue Valkyrie needs TO FUCKING STEP UP HER GAME. (First gaming argument w/ wife was over Gauntlet Legends)

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

You're thinking of the god-like Gauntlet Legends game. Gauntlet was made by an indie crew who drew inspiration from the original

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oooh you're totally right, my bad...!

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

And you forgot transistor

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, How to survive is another great zombie co-op.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, you are right OP. Gauntlet Legends and it's ilk were main stream. Gauntlet was made by indie devs as a spiritual successor to the former

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

:D liking this information.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You've gotta replace it, man, right here right now, put up a true eleventh!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
