I was in college and I was walking to my next class. A girl walking towards me had her hands in her hoodie pockets. As we were about to pass each other, we made eye contact as she was taking her hands out of her pockets.
Around $15 cash dropped from her pocket, so naturally I bent down to pick it up and give it back so I said "Excuse me, miss!" She turned around and looked scared and quickly turned back around to keep walking.
So now I'm like, ahhh wtf, "HEY EXCUSE ME MISS!!!" And she got even more scared and was half running now. So I cried a little inside and kept the cash and bought myself lunch with the money after my class. The whole class though I was pissed thinking, "That f'n bitch thought she was hot as shit."
SeanBeanDiesAlot
You don't know what she has potentially gone through, there could have been some back history there.
Jrhoney
Disregard females, acquire currency.
Youmaynotagree
It's also possible that another man had recently traumatized her and she was still in fight or flight :(
Brocktooon
ThatGuySev
College student with hands in hoodie pockets, but cash fell out... Yah she was probably just bought some weed or some shit
rannmann
My wife was once chased around campus until she locked herself in a room by a horny IT guy who was "going to make her want it."
CandyDandyRainbow
Considering the amount of girls who get yelled at and followed I'm not really surprised...
JamBarn
Yeah, college campuses, one of the safest places on the planet, are super dangerous.
LlamaBatman
More likely she was scared that you might attack her. Having someone shout at you for seemingly no reason while you're alone is terrifying
FusRoDoodles
If I pretend I didn't hear you then we don't have to interact. It has nothing to do with attractiveness, I just hate social situations.
thefuckwouldiwantacaravanthatsgotnofuckinwheels
This is the worst post ever, who gives a shit?
HenryInTwoForks
You do.
ihopenoonehasthisusername69
I wouldn't think too much of this. I have been approached by some men who can be aggressive/ threatening, so I definitely get a little (1/2)
ihopenoonehasthisusername69
scared when things like that happens- no matter how innocent. It also doesn't help that you were yelling after her. Some girls just (2/3)
ihopenoonehasthisusername69
know they aren't completely capable of defending themselves and just wouldn't risk putting themselves in a situation like that. (3/3)
PianoMan2112
I was a student guard, wearing a guard jacket & holding a radio, and someone still freaked out and screamed at me to get away(from 30' away)
FlatPlutoSociety
You didn't do anything wrong, but lots of people get nervous when strangers yell at/to them, and many of them have very good reasons for it.
DoubleDickDonkey
I'm crying. This is some sad shit. She didn't get her money. The class were assholes. She got scared. This bothers you. Damn onion ninjas.
dandydust
LOL
sketcheecharacter
Okay, I was sympathetic with you until that last line. Women are raped regardless of what they look like, and a woman fearing for her 1/2

Safety Isn't a conceited "hot shit" bitch. You have no fucking clue what this girl might have been through to make her respond that way. 2/2
lafemmenikita
Right? "I hate when it people jump to conclusions!" *jumps to conclusion* "THAT STUCK UP BITCH" - some introspection would be nice..
magneticmagic3
I know I'm not hot as shit and still get harassed by guys, being hot rarely has anything to do with being cornered by some douche. She may 1

Iamalleandro
Either way, regardless of her reasoning, she's out $15 because she couldn't simply turn around for a second.
BoredNazi
Were you wearing a fedora?
BritishBatman
That... doesn't feel like she thought you were trying to hit on her...
Muttons1337
If I proposition a hooker by chasing her down with a wad of cash in my hands, that's me flirting. Am I doing it wrong?
phlebotomist0x0
that made me laugh
Muttons1337
My romantic life is nothing to laugh at Karen. I'm a man in love.
forestfinagle
Well, $15 ain't gonna get you much
Muttons1337
It will on South Street. Thems be desperate hoes.
WillDropPantsForFood
In my experience as a stoner, maybe she was just high. When you're high "everybody" knows, & everyone in authority is scary AF.
littlebitofthis
I used to be the same way, until I started to "think" when I'm high. I can carry on a normal conversation for quite a while
WillDropPantsForFood
True, it's definitely doable. But even after the 1000th time smoking it's still not fun to be out in the general public for me
littlebitofthis
I feel the same way, I control the dosage (bong) to match what I will be doing. I go heavy if I'm having a night in, versus hitting some 1/2

Thought this was one of those post that ends saying nowadays she is your wife and you both have 3 kids
BrownskinOriental
No this one ended with my friends still laughing at me to this day about a random girl getting scared of my face for no reason.

Yeah she may have thought she was in grave danger, not that she's super cute. But I jump when doors slam so I may be biased.

A lot of violence is preceded by politeness. Most serial murderers aren't like "Bitch" dude from Rick and Morty

(1/2) Personally, no. But maybe the answer isn't "women should be less scared"
bbueller
(2/2) maybe the answer is all of us, together, should try to build a world that is less threatening so women don't HAVE to feel scared
rinnybell210
What's less threatening than "excuse me, miss?"
Pawnderlust
She didn't think she was hot shit. She was scared. Like you said.

As a man, I've had many women do the same thing to me. .but enough about me...wtf happened to them to make them scared of someone like me.
manthabat
It's more the thought of what could happen. Every woman I know has been harassed by random dudes at some point. Those situations can be
manthabat

manthabat
2) scary, especially if you're alone. Personally, I've definitely avoided guys (who probably had decent intentions) just because it seems

I think it's partially, because "normal" people don't usually bother you, in average situation. So one gets approached a lot more by 1/2

Ahe was probably super fucken baked and thought she was gunna get in trouble. She was prob on her way to buy weed or just bought weed and or
MamaKin
She likely was worried you were a creepy rapist. Guys piss me off thinking that any interaction means the girl thinks she's hot or likes him
gunter
Since we are all assuming here. I am going to assume every woman that talks to me is a whore and go from there.
MamaKin
I wouldn't be surprised to think some guys think that.
thisisprocrastination
Kinda like young women piss me off thinking any interaction is an advance.... Women over 40 are okay though, they have grown brains already.
MamaKin
No, guys only think women think that. Thank you for proving my point. Also, I've always had a brain.
thisisprocrastination
A rather underdeveloped one maybe.
MamaKin
Men are also unreasonably arrogant.
PrivateIsotope
Why would you assume she thought you were trying to hit on her?
BrownskinOriental
Because she ignored me before I could even continue what I was saying. And she kinda looked scared and I'm the most average looking Asian.
Wimpymind
Nah man, she just didnt want you to spread that nasty slant-eye to her.
FusRoDoodles
She could have, quite possibly, just been anxious about talking to people in general.
WellWellWellLookWhoItIs
Maybe she thought you were going to attack her. Maybe she's been attacked before, possibly by someone who looks like you. Give her a break.
DinoHunter56
The irony in this is comedy gold, give the benefit of the doubt to someone who wouldnt give it to someone else. Wow.
DinoHunter56
I was robbed at gun point by 3 hispanic men when i was younger, by your logic all hispanic people should tread lightly in my prescence.
WellWellWellLookWhoItIs
No. But if you're inclined to be skittish around Hispanics, that's understandable. Not necessarily right, but understandable. All I'm sayin'
PhiIIipJFry
Maybe she was scared then?
MarvaNipp
Why would you think she's a stuck up bitch if she looked scared? That doesn't add up. And anyway, people are not obligated to talk to you.
PrivateIsotope
That's not the normal reaction of someone who wants to avoid being hit on. A girl may ignore you, but they're not going to run.
TheFemaleRonSwanson
She has to live her life worrying half the population might rape her and you get mad that you got $15... Your anger seems so justified.
DisgruntledFerret
I feel like all men being rapists isn't the requirement you think it is, and I don't feel being insulted by that premise is unjustified.
thisisprocrastination
No she doesn't. She chooses to, because fucktards like you teach her she should.

A simple, "Hey miss, you dropped your money" could have helped....
thisisprocrastination
The fault here is 100% on her.
PrivateIsotope
Its not about fault.
Randomshitforfun
Yeah, but usually if you say hey sir/miss/apache usually they turn around
PrivateIsotope
And when they dont, you get more specific, I'd think

Comedy gold.
jd1311
Just playing devils advocate, but maybe he/she didn't wanna shout about dropping money and embarrass her/draw attention to the money?
squidnib879
It probably just went by too quickly for him to think of that
PrivateIsotope
Could be. That's kind of the first thing I'd say, though.
PrivateIsotope
That shouldn't embarrass her, and he wouldn't have had to shout because she was close. Even, "You dropped something"
Lunakat504
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. That's a fair point.
PrivateIsotope
I thought so! Maybe some people prefer to think of her as a stuck-up date-avoider

"Hey you dropped this"

I too will play Devil's Advocate and say that maybe she was high as f***

Can confirm she's acting like one of them marinara users

Nah, fuck her.
CerealKiller2142
Or don't, cause that's clearly what was frightening her.
daisychainofanalfisting
She was scared the guy was gonna fuck her in public by saying excuse me ?
CerealKiller2142
I was just making a dumb joke. I have no idea what she was thinking, cause what could she possibly be thinking that would make her run 1/2
CerealKiller2142
Away like that at a simple excuse me? I don't have the personal life experiences that she's had to be able to come up with a logical reason.
attractivenuisances
As a female, that's not what was going through her head... at all.
kindsoberandfullydressed
lol RIGHT? I feel like it's so easy for men to get butthurt (not that I don't sympathize either) and then it's easy to think the ONLY 1/2
Halogrunt1234
Okay, cool. Lets not, like, elaborate or anything...
CoderWithoutCaffeine
As a male. Wtf was she thinking. Oh no another student trying to talk to me, I've better run. I guess social skills must be low nowadays.
phlebotomist0x0
as another female, absolutely agree
thissuperglueworksjustfine
What was going through her head?
TheLettersBetweenNandQ
Bullets. No one runs from OP

Could be drugs.

She's fine

But what was she thinking? Was it me? Did i do something wrong?
LoveBigD
No. She's fine.
AnAccountToPostThis
Men have to deal with creeps and psychopaths just the same as women. We just don't blame that on everyone who talks to us int he streets.
apersonoflittleintellegence
There is a difference between being creepy and being predatory, and it's not even clear that this situation was even about fear of assault.
SentOS
Psychopaths yes, but the amount of male creeps going for females is significally larger
AnAccountToPostThis
Except that's not even remotely true. Men are the overwhelming majority of violent crime victims. That includes things like muggings.
apersonoflittleintellegence
This is true for violent crimes except rape. Plus, being creepy isn't a violent crime, even if it can be highly unsettling.
CharlieNoOne
Men face the possibility of rape, just like anyone else. The only difference is men are extremely unlikely to report it.
ilikecatpicturestoo
Sorry this happened to you. As a girl though, whenever I was walking alone on college campus I got approached by a lot of people. (1)

In Idaho too. Had a student ask if I wanted to see his ankle piece. I was like f yeah, I do!
