They missed one: just because the person that you are interacting with is talkative and/or fun to be around, does NOT mean that they are an extrovert. If someone you know is bouncy and fun but still desperately needs to be alone, they are an outgoing introvert and you are lucky to see the outgoing part of them. Just know that it costs them to be outgoing and they will need lots of recharge time to make up for it!

I'd say this is pretty generalizing and misleading. It's a spectrum, not a category. You can get people who are drastic mix of both I and E

So in total: Introvert is a trait, not an entire personality. People can have a combination of introvert and extrovert traits

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

"if you're lucky enough to be considered a friend" please little introvert pick me to be your friend that's all I've ever wanted.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

If you replace the word 'introverts' with 'cats' then it becomes an accurate infograph.

10 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

They just reached neckbeard atheist levels of annoying with the "Introverts challenge the norm" line.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

"Myths" Nooo, the word you're looking for is stereotypes.

10 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 2

Bingo!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stereotype isn't fancy enough of a buzzword to get le upboats.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What are we, animals ?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I don't understand the need for introverts to constantly create posts about being introverted. Can someone explain?

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Do you find "quiet" people to be strange and awkward? Do you shun them in favor of more "fun" people?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Nope.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an introvert, no.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

introversion is not a condition, different "introverts" have different tendencies

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

They still have the common trait of needing some quiet/alone time to recharge mentally/emotionally. It's not they an introvert can't be 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

outgoing etc, it's just that they have to spend energy doing so and need a break once in a while to get energy back. 2/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I dunno, I've met a lot of people who think not wanting to interact with people all the time means you have some mental illness.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You have described my life better than I ever could.

10 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 17

Yep!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

yeah, I nodded in agreement at each one too.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

Well said

Thank you for speaking for me also.

Hi tumblr

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I like that I never see extrovert stuff like this.

I've never heard people bragging about being an extrovert. Introverts however...every day.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Because extroverts are sort of the "default" in people's minds.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Making one would require an extrovert to shut up for a minute.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 9

Myth 11 : Introverts won't use the fact they're introvert to sound cool on the internet.

10 years ago | Likes 193 Dislikes 16

Probably written by an extrovert....dirty extroverts.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

haha

10 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

Being a douchebag transcends all personality types.

10 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

And if there was a personality type that was never a douchebag, the rest of us douchebags probably killed them off millenia ago :P

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Ötzi is the proof. I need his DNA to revive a douchebagless bloodline of personality type.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Myth 11. Most people are either introverted or extroverted: actually vast majority fit somewhere in the middle and aren't helped by labels

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Everyone is a little weird

10 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

And a little racist

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

and a little gay

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

And a little judgemental

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And a little insignificant speck in a vast universe.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I feel like I just read a canine 101 about my breed

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

exactly this.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Extroverts want introverts to change their personalities and introverts want extroverts to shut the hell up for ten goddamn seconds

10 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 10

As an introvert this couldn't be any less true...or maybe it's just because I'm not rude.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

People who proudly self-identify as introverts want attention, and everyone else wants them to shut the hell up for ten goddamn seconds.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Yeah this mega cringey post has brought out a lot of cringey "introverts" in the comments

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You make introversion sound like autism.

10 years ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 16

it's the new self-diagnosed aspergers

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I err well, I suffer from it and well, almost all applied. It's sadly true.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

No it's not. There's a lot of "introverts" that are social skilled and people believe they are extroverts.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

And you make Autism like it can be generalised. (Psst. It can't, all generalisations are bullshit)

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Including that one?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That wasnt a generalisation it was a meta-generalisation.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As opposed to American media, which makes it sound like a crime...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Autism is actually much more varied than that. My son is very outgoing, energetic, loves going outside, generally loves meeting new 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It certainly is, just became I am like that in specific my intention is far from creating a stereotype, we're all different.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Just because* For example, I have to write things down a lot, otherwise I cannot, for the life of me talk or express my feelings.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

people and will often try to make friends with strangers when it's not really appropriate (for example he's fascinated by babies) but (more)

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Is on the Autistic spectrum. My point that is not all autistic people are introverted.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Exactly my point.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Whoever made this sounds so full of it. I'm an introvert too, but I don't say stupid things like "introverts think for themselves" (1/?)

10 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 3

"we challenge the norm", "we 'get it faster' than others", and we "don't care about you being impolite". That's not true for everyone (2/?)

10 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

As the partner of the most introverted person I have ever *met* in 30yrs, can confirm, impoliteness is one of his bugbears for a start!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and it makes you sound like a pompous, self-righteous prick. Just because you're an introvert doesn't mean that you're this incredibly (3/?)

10 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

Yes, I got the pompous vibe too. Anyone (intro or extro) who is this level of arrogant ... I have no time for them.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

intelligent and reflective person who sits there doing puzzles and figuring out new discoveries in your head all the time. Just STOP. (4/4)

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Lol I was thinking this too when reading this whole article.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Between the line it says introverts are smarter.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

10 Generalizations Given Different Conclusions

10 years ago | Likes 187 Dislikes 16

Because as well all know generalizations can NEVER be accurate.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

Yeah this whole thing seems masturbatery, made me cringe.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

**Masturbatory. Though "Masterbatery" sounds fuckin hilarious when spoken out loud!

10 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

Pretty much every single shitty Buzzfeed, Gawker, Huffington Post, Cracked, and Mashable "listicle"

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I'm no extrovert, but this doesn't describe me at all. I guess I must just be an asshole.

10 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

midvert

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah, i can say that some of these myths are true about me

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well you are a curmudgeonly old fart

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The internet makes the introvert community seem like one giant circle-jerk

10 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 10

I'm fairly certain that the intent of this site boils down to giant circle jerk. People love to feel like they're in an exclusive club.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, the internet makes a lot of communities seem like giant circle-jerks *cough*

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

"Introvert community"? Think about that for a sec...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm an introvert, I don't know how to get over it I want to go out more because I honestly feel lonely sometimes.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You can not buy into pseudoscience crap like this post and think for yourself, for a start.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Figure out what you need to "recharge" and which sorts of social activities/situations are exhausting you the most. 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Figure out your current limits and slowly expand them a bit at a time. Not everyone is cut out for the same kind of "social." 2.2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Find a group with common interests. Socializing for the sake of socializing will just be exhausting and you'll wear yourself out.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Is anyone else really bored of seeing introvert vs extrovert stuff constantly on this site?

10 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 16

Yes, specially beacuse they are not objective.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I have literally never seen anything pro-extrovert here.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Because extroversion is the expected norm, the majority, the very loud majority. #TRIGGERED (kidding, kidding :P)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

tbh I havent seen it that often

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 4

People need that "I'm interesting" etc validation. Extroverts get that out with people, so the internet gets this with introverts.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

Yeah, I think it's kind of a dumb theory. And this one is just kissing their asses so hard it comes off as patting ones self on the back.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 11

Every single time."approach quietly and respectfully,as you would a special unicorn."

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

I met my best friend at a party, while I was sitting alone to recharge for a bit. She just came up like "Hi, I'm (name). We're friends now"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also "they have a deep inner life" seems to imply that outgoing highly social people are shallower and have litte going on inside.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Myth 11: Introverts don't feel the need to create infographics about themselves.

10 years ago | Likes 1991 Dislikes 51

I like it because I never thought of myself as an introvert but now know that I difinatively am.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

I'm an introvert. Not all of these are true about me and this is all talking in absolutes... I hate these things

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Now i want someone to make an infograph about how not all extroverts are stupid annoying party people with infinite energy

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

But it helped me realize there wasn't 'something wrong' with me.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 8

We probably don't, but these infographics might help some people whose couple or family member is an introvert so they can understand.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 19

Either way it's over-generalizing and can add more confusion if the entire graphic doesn't really apply to you.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Or maybe a extrovert who wanted to clear things up about their introvert friends?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I'm an introvert and I think this is mostly self aggrandizing nonsense. I'm just fuckin uncomfortable around people I don't know well.

10 years ago | Likes 114 Dislikes 7

Yeah. "If you are lucky enough for an introvert to consider you a friend"... Jesus fucking Christ, what a pretentious cocksucker.

10 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 3

Yeah, the person who made this sounds like an introvert with a victim complex. It's really fucking sad.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Bear in mind, this feels like someone sharing what they've learned by being friends with introverts, not necessarily being one themselves.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

True, but it was obviously needed because not all people "get" introverts.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Myth 12: Some Introverts probably want to make infographics about themselves because they aren't all the same.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If that is a myth like you say, doesn't that validate this post even more?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This. How pathetic is this shit

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 12

Re-read the whole thing. Replace the word "introvert" with "loser" as you go. Makes much more sense.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

*runs over from across the room* ... I'm a vegan guys.

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 10

Just turn the vegan into veganmite - then you can eat him on toast

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

*hollas from the porch* I'm vaping, guys. Guys, can' you even hear me? Shit, now I gotta go inside.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Classic vegan...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Found the Vegan.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eh, considering the fact that extroverts really don't seem to understand us, it's kinda nice to have it out there. None of my friends are(1)

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 15

going to see this so it's obviously not going to help me at all. But, ya know... still.... (2)

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 7

Username game on point.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

TELL ME HOW SPECIAL I AM.

10 years ago | Likes 127 Dislikes 11

My thoughts exactly. I hate these "INTROVERTS THINK MORE & ARE MORE DEEP" posts. Rubbish. Introverts are just as stupid as anyone.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You're over 9000 on the special scale. You're so special you're borderline retarded.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Long as he doesn't go full retard...

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Myth 12: introverts and extroverts are a real thing, and not just people with different levels of many social interests and skills.

10 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 12

Theres a ted talk saying you cant be one or the other your on a sliding scale between the two. You may lean one way or the other or neither.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Exactly. I'm near the middle, but slightly tipped towards introvert.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This guy gets it.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The best one is '25% of people are introverts'. It's retarded.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It talks about introverts like we are some higher life form or something...

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

Well to be fair it doesn't mention its thoughts on extroverts at all, so that comparison might just be how you're reading into it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No.. It's just explaining the way we are. It's just a fact of life. Not points for comparison.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 15

What is a fact of life? Could you elaborate?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Basically that this what some people do. In their life. They're facts. They're not trying to be superior or be compared to others.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of life

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

But insecure people do.

10 years ago | Likes 651 Dislikes 22

I wonder how many people that are insecure pretend to be introverted just for the internet attention...

10 years ago | Likes 158 Dislikes 10

Probably a lot less than people like you assume.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 25

I didn't assume, I wondered. You're the one that assumed.

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

I like attention but I hate seeking it because I feel bad for doing so. So I want to be seen/heard but only for a bit.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Or vice versa

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can connect to most of these points. Does that make me introverted or insecure?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

False dichotomy. Let's stick with "insightful"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im an Introvert and im self secure as fuck. And now excuse me please i have to recharge for an hour because of that statement ;)

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Can't you be both?

10 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 3

Sure, but I'm just curious how much of them pretend. Like a different version of "I totally have Aspergers and/or ADHD"

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sweeping Generalizations Based On One Person's Interpretation Of Introvertism

10 years ago | Likes 523 Dislikes 35

Wait, you mean these facts aren't 100% accurate of every single introvert? Impossible!

10 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 3

Yea, I feel like this would've been better if it were phrased "What being introverted means to me". Not, "TOP TEN INTROVERT MYTHS BUSTED!"

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

But the problem is these are common misconceptions when the subject is brought up.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

And Here's Why You're A Misogynist For It!

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 10

Or it could be backed up by actual research.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 16

If research was done, I'm sure it would have been cited

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

There are different levels of introversion and extroversion and each of these generalizations can and cannot apply to those on both sides

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

*Introversion, technically.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

SGBOOPIOI

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They did all fit me though. So I liked it. Sorry it didn't help you express your issues though. Keep looking

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, ffs just go take the MBTI and it'll tell you a hell of a lot more about yourself...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SGBOOPIOI for those that didn't see the powerpoint.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I don't know man. This pretty much describes my strenghts and weaknesses spot on. It's also on the FP so maybe it's a type,eh?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's not his type, so he is assuming it's the same for everyone. The same thing he is rebelling against

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I lot of this did apply to me though

10 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 6

Not yours though.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty strongly, at that.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

+1, yet I've always been told I'm an extrovert. I disagreed, but couldn't be bothered with the interaction the arguing would call for.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Same here.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Anyone else feel this comment section is rather toxic compared to others?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I think it's an ongoing thing, but yea

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me too. Not all but most described my temperament pretty well.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually this whole thing was 100% spot on for me.

10 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 5

Same.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same here.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But what happens when being an introvert is popular and trendy?

10 years ago | Likes 503 Dislikes 13

That's how German came into being

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Then you become a hipster introvert. And not tell anyone that you were an introvert before it was cool.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I think these things have just become popular because all the introverts upvote them.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It won't be because this shit is cringey.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 8

You mean like 87% of popular trends today?

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Yeah, but cringey in a socially awkward way, and that shit never plays among the mainstream. I admire your statistical precision, though.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

we (the intoverts) wouldn't notice or care to brag about it

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

We don't mind if something is popular or trendy, it doesn't mean we don't do trendy, just that we do whatever it is or isn't trendy.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then we wouldn't have to make frakking conversation anymore & could only talk if there is something to talk about. Win/Win, I guess.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then you repent because Ragnarok is upon us!

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This one of the few comments here that don't make me despair. Thank you!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You called? Lol im relevant!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Already?!? But I just started cooking dinner!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you get these fucking infographics every week about the same shit, written by some tool who thinks they're a rare breed

10 years ago | Likes 425 Dislikes 21

Which is completely idiotic because IIRC introverts are about half the population.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was going to comment, "you mean now, on the internet?" but it looks like you beat me to it.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Like we should kiss their fucking boots for gracing us with their friendship.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly, a lot of these strike true for me and I work as a bartender. I get most of my social points at work and tend to hermit otherwise

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Its like a horoscope. Everyone finds some sort of way to try and relate.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Don't know why this is downvoted - that's EXACTLY what it is.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Social justice warriors like to parrot on with their narcissistic bullshit like that, I find.

10 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 21

What the fuck do introverts have to do with SJWs?

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 6

Even if you got an answer to this question, I doubt you'd like it.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

I think it's about the narcissistic tendencies, but that's a really bad connection. Those tendencies are prevalent in a lot of people.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

its a personality type. you can fake it, i guess, if you want, but you cant be it if you arent

10 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 3

Extroverts find faking introversion just as exhausting as introverts find faking extroversion.

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Thing is, there's no much need in faking introversion. Society doesn't require that.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As an introvert, i honestly have to ask. Do extroverts really exist or does everyone exhibit these characteristics?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

they do exist, yes. its not natural to find interacting with your own species "exhausting". we are the weird ones.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I cannot honestly comprehend someone that wants to be around people all the time. Sounds exhausting as hell.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Actually, if you do that, you get Finland.

10 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Or Japan?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How do you identify a Finnish extrovert? He stares at *your* shoes while talking to you!

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Introverts aren't all the same.

10 years ago | Likes 1576 Dislikes 11

#Intrivertslifesmatter

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, for exemple I'm an introvert, I don't like people and I like to cry alone.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

True

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

There is always an exception that proves the rule. OR something like that...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its very relatable for me tho :)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

6 nails it for me.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed. I'm introverted and I try really hard not to be. I don't think I'm broken, but my temperament makes others uncomfortable.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You wanna go where everybody knows your name.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck you phone with your small keyboard

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Literally skipped the whole post to comment this. How the fuck can you say every person of any group is the same.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

They also don't have big heads.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I would add that introversion and extroversion depends on the context...it's how you perceive the context that determines your response.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

At least 90% of this post describes me.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So, there's a pretty obvious air of superiority here.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Yknow, in the info graphic, not your comment.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Some of these even apply to people who are not introverts.

Ya I'am an introvert and I fucking hate people.

Being an introvert doesn't mean you have to hate humanity :/

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

But what if I do? :/

Misanthropy is neither a defining quality of introversion nor mutually exclusive with it.

And #10 isn't quite right. I used to be a real introvert until I said "fuck it" to myself one day and now I can talk to practically everyone

That sounds like social anxiety

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I understand the distinction between introvert and extrovert is mainly that intros "recharge" with alone time, not by socializing.

What freak of nature am I as I'm able to both recharge and devitalize both by socializing and being alone? It's simply about balance for me.

You're an ambivert, not some super special unicorn personality.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Freak of nature =! super special unicorn personality, but tbh I kinda just asked a question which you actually answered so thank you, sir.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People define that as ambivertism. I define it as being normal.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think it's ambiversion, not ambivertism.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I do feel normal in this sense, but I've often felt people think it's abnormal. Maybe the people I've talked about this with are just b&w.

surprisingly all of the above "myths" describe me 100%. I am amazed that I never realized I was an introvert

Same

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was trying not to call myself an introvert because apparently all of Imgur is, but this also described me perfectly.

Welcome to the club

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same here all people are different but this is kinda what describes an introvert so maybe your no introvert

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah maybe i just hate people and distance myself from them.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Me too 100%, but I knew I was introvert, the hard part was always trying to explain myself to other people

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dito, Forer Effect

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah me too. Except I really do enjoy my solitude time. I like company with people I like, but overall I really do like to be alone.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same here. I tried to change my "wrong behavior" for 38 years since society tells me to.

Lucky me that I'm swedish, brooding is fiiine ;-)

When I realized I was an introvert, my life got so much easier.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Well I hope mine will be easier too. At least I know what to say when I want to get out of a family party.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've started taking naps at long family get togethers. They're slowly accepting it, even if they don't understand.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is no real "wrong" or "right" just rules we set upon ourselves called laws, morals, and values created to control the weak minds.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 33

It's just that most people are extroverts and society reflect that, it's a standard "de facto".
