our street in Chicago after a tornado
it was sudden and unprecedented
thank goodness for excellent neighbors helping clear the walkways
I think I might be winning apocalypse bingo?
this sign was ugly anyway
roof coming off a building along LSD
the most people I’ve seen out since March - everyone wandering around, surveying the damage
many big old trees are down. no human deaths reported so far
trees and cars and properties are wrecked. the birbs are super confused. there was a lady weeping for the trees

That was a derecho event, though a handful of tornadoes did drop.

Very very rarely

Not very rarely. The Chicagoland area gets menaced every now and then. Plainfield 1990 and Rochelle 2015 stand out.

huffdogg
That’s still very rarely compared to all surrounding areas.

Only lost a shutter and parts of an old oak tree. There's a huge part still attached to the tree that I can't deal with on my own.

My mother took an insurance claim from Cedar Rapids and quickly bowed out for the day afterwards. She wasn't gonna let herself be swamped.

Rogers Park? Avondale didn't have much, but we had an EF-1 land in Plainfield 5-6 years ago and this looks pretty close to what that did.

Yep Rogers Park. Glad your area is ok! Plainfield incident sounds scary

Things can be replaced; people cannot! And the damage was a bit spooky, but I got my German Shepherd out of it. Totally worth it :P
