They should adopt the Popeyes/Waffle House model where employees are encouraged to throw hands

WHAT employees?
Most McD's I've been to, you order from a screen, the work is done by bots, and dropped off MAYBE by human.

McDonalds doesn't want outside abuse of their employees...they prefer to do it themselves.

And if you do attack or get in a loud argument with one of our employees we will fire them without hesitation.

They have the sign to point to when asked what their policy is. But I guarantee they're still just as Passive-aggressive as always and don't do a thing when customers abuse the workers. But if the press asks: *points at sign*

This. A proper business doesn’t need the sign. The employees would already know that behavior isn’t tolerated and management would support everyone’s decisions.

I had one boss ask about a customer “Is that guy being a prick or what?” He was ready to get rid of the customer before he knew any of the story. I explained the customer had different expectations and I was able to make everything right, but the owner was behind me without question.
