And as a geologist I would say check em with a UV light anyway. Lots of minerals can be fluorescent (and under various wavelengts)! And super fun to look for them at night with a UV flashlight.

Yes! Technically, a crystalline quartz formation that has been irradiated and contaminated with iron. Rocks are fascinating creatures! Also, shine. We likes the pretty, shiny things.

I have two pieces of a large geode, polished and made into bookends. They never get used because it would mean I would have to hide the shiny. Can't have that... This would make a nice display piece near a window or something. Cast all the pretty lights all over the place.
