Wow, what are the odds that they'd leave a perfect man-shaped hole for him?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Was hoping the arrows would be downvotes ah well still great

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Did they have albums, though? That's important when judging selfies.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Awesome movie!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is one of my favorite movies.

Not going to get your deposit back with all those marks in the wall

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

is this Zhang Yimo? The most wasteful and over the top film director to ever get a blank check right from the chinese gov't?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seen reactions to tv shows get the fuck downvoted out of them too. Imgur has an interesting dynamic

Walk it off bud, its just a scratch.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you think they practiced talking in unison like that, or did it just happen organically?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't be the only one curious as to how he got out of that, right?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I have done some research and found out that he did not.

Yeah but if I post one then it's:

Someone make the arrows down votes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah, like we're gonna ask for permission to downvote

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

that seems like a really honorable execition? if such a thing exists

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Death by a thousand arrows does have a nice ring to it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What a terribly ineffecient way to execute someone. You have to remove every single arrow, and repeair the wall everytime you kill someone.

8 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

...but an effective way to stay alive while attempting to execute a better...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hes only dead because allowed it. Didn’t even flinch. After this he was given a hero’s funeral. I still tear up at this scene. So powerful.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Who's job is it to remove those arrows? I feel bad for that person...not really.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If everyone goes together and picks up one arrow, we can be done cleaning up in no time!

I hate most wire martial art movies. But this movie was amazing. The story and the fighting was excellent.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I liked that movie.

God Hero is such an amazing movie looove it

8 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 2

Fun fact, based on an actual assassination attempt. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jing_Ke

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Saw it in the theater, but next door was Phantom of the Opera. Several quiet wuxia scenes got interrupted by pipe organ music. Still fun

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

1/ It's also exceedingly propagandistic. By creating the implication that No-Name was correct not to execute the King of Qin,

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

I think...you are reading too much into it...assassination of Qin is such a household story in china no one attaches political opinion to it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Remember that SARFT is very exacting in its script standards that supports the CCP. This interpretation is common in China analyst circles

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It just seems unnecessary even for CCP to spread this kind of propaganda

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/ In the name of "Tianxia" (all under heaven), so that the countries might be united and ruled together. This directly bolsters

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

3/ The legitimacy of authoritarians and autocrats (i.e. the Communist Party of China, who signed off on the script)

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

4/ The harsh rule of the King of Qin is justified as preferable to continuing chaos that might ensue without such rule

5/ Still fun to watch, though

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I know it's a visually stunning scene, but I always wondered what it would look like if all the archers had actually aimed at him.

8 years ago | Likes 283 Dislikes 1

Who says they didn’t? Not everyone is William Tell.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's kind of cool. Imagine instead of this shot, it just showed an empty wall.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Thats not how combat archers worked, you mass them to throw arrows, 1 less for your infantry to fight if they hit, its not meant for acuracy

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Ever seen a typewritter jam up?

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Watch Kurosawa's Throne of Blood--there's a scene that might answer it for you.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sucks to be the person who would have to clean that up

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Totally what I was thinking. Like, some dude put his life's work into that door. Fuck those archers.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He would just have to run a couple feet to either side.

8 years ago | Likes 214 Dislikes 1

If you had seen the movie, he could have defended this. But like the emperor, eh accepted his fate to uphold the law of earth and heaven.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

They're taking into consideration he could move. By creating a blanket of arrows he has nowhere to escape to. Technically.

8 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

He could just... run forward a few feet instead :P

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's Wuxia. Earlier this happened: https://youtu.be/A0XOjEah6E8

Hahahah is that a real movie ? It looks like a bad Japanese commercial.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

It's chinese.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that scene (and the gif above) is from the movie "Hero". Same film: https://youtu.be/p9keMBIyPnA

The movie is awesome. Hero is legit.

It's American Gods. If you haven't seen it, you're in for a good acid trip. The show feels bizzarely unreal

Gods are supposed to be surreal
