Unpopular opinion puffin is nervous to say this...

Dec 4, 2017 2:26 PM

I know it's wrong for men to prey upon women --just like its wrong for people to steal. But I still lock my doors at night....ya know?

You are responsible for taking steps to keep yourself safe - regardless of if you're a man or woman. Make smart decisions and don't put yourself in dangerous situations with people you don't trust.

Please take this how its intended. I'm not excusing sexual assault at all. It is against the law and those *found guilty in a court of law* should be punished for it just like any other crime. However, it is still your responsibility as an adult to avoid dangerous situations whenever possible. This would include strangers hotel rooms after you've been drinking. Let's raise our young women to be advocates of their own safety instead of victims.

Glad someone still has some sense and understands that everyone is responsible for their own actions.

There isn’t enough modesty or good decisions in the world to defend against predators

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Hurr durr that’s victim blaming. But yea makes sense

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Hey, this is called, survival, and applies to everyone.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When a person with power flirts with some one.. to them it's flirting. to others it's a dilemma.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

And regret does not equal victimization.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

omfg YES

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

A generation ago, our "rebellious youth" wanted fewer rules and more personal freedoms. Today, they want protected from their own decisions.

Well-fucking-said comrade

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Until recently this was taught to girls as part of being a lady and guys were taught to be gentlemen.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Very true. Now it's i can do what I want and expect nothing in return. And *ahem* wear *ahem* what I want.

I have no idea what Pamela Anderson said.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

if you google her name its all over the news

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It’s so much easier to play victim right now, not just sexually assault, a lot of theses Hollywood cases sound like quid pro quo

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I think so too

"He told me to take off my shirt, so I did. Then I bent over the chair and we had sex till I passed out" - Lauer chick. Maybe just leave?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 7

I can't say I know much about the Lauer situation... but it does concern me as a citizen that he was immediately assumed to be guilty.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I'm not saying he is or isn't. But still... Maybe just leave before taking your top off and bending over?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Yeah really!!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Let's not let due process be pushed aside just because the media is having a frenzy. That's what I'm sayin man.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Yeah, it's common sense. Everybody onows what "come to my hotel room" means.

8 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 5

YU-Gi-OH battles! I'm so down for it

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Hey you too? Wanna come to my hotel room?

I didn't say they deserve it you sensationalist. And I didn't say they gave consent either. Sarcasm is a great way to get your point across.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You know how we tell kids not to take candy from strangers? Same principle. There are always gonna be shitty people. Protect yourself.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Uh oh. Looks like someone here gets their news from buzzfeed.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Careful with claiming people deserve things. Makes you sound like an ass

Shit my bad

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Andy, you missed the fucking point.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What. No. Just like going home with someone doesn't imply sex. Consent can be removed if the situation changes.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Yes it can. And those women could have just left.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Not if they thought buddy might try and physically force them to stay which is often the case

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ok. What I mean is for guys who think that if a girl comes back to your place consent is given. First that bs. Be respectful. If you start

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Let's raise our young men not to sexual assault. Or both. Both is good

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 18

Do you think they don't already know? They have for a long time. The assaulters just don't care

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Also, call it out when you see it, as a guy. Be that change. Don't turn a blind eye when your friends are dicks.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes i agree. Well said

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Yeah you’re right my mom and dad raised me to be a horrible rapist just like most young men. Fuck morals right?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Why go to the extreme? Honestly sexual assault is something as simply as grabbing someone's ass.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

How do you avoid unwanted sexual advances OP?

That isn't representative of all unwanted sexual advancements.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If a man who I don't want to have sex with invites me to his home or hotel room.. I say no and leave.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

But that is not representative of all unwanted sexual advancements

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

If I am already at their home and they make a move and I'm not interested I call and uber and leave. If he physically forces me I call 911.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

A single unwanted sexual advance isn't a crime, harassment, or a problem per se. It's possible to remove yourself from such a situation.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Like rape? That kind of single unwanted advance?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Buy a dictionary. Thats not what the word advance means.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Interestingly enough the U.N. calls rape sexual harassment. Therefore in this context harrassment and unwanted sexual advances are the same

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Honey, re-read what you just wrote.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I get your point, but that's not an advance. That's already a crime. How do you avoid being the victim of any crime?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Any unwanted sexual advance is a crime? That's not my point. I'm against O.P. suggesting such a simple answer to stop such a complex problem

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't walk around with my butthole spread open. I'm doing my part

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 3

I do but only because i actually like anal THAT much

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Well hello ;)

Sex with me would make your day, but anal will make your hole weak
