That sounds awful. I'm trapped in the basement of a hospital, where I am not allowed to leave a room with no windows and I have to crap in a bucket. I'm waiting for them to take away the bucket now.
Fire alarm went off in my slum lord unattended apartment complex once. Firefighter decided it was a false alarm, but couldn't turn it off without the landlord showing up -- who didn't want to drive 2 hours at 2 am to give authorization to turn off the clock. Fortunately, someone in the apartment was supervisor of the local indy theater so the entire complex was treated to free movie night.
oh i love when my body says "oh yeah, btw, it's period time!" especially now, peri-menopause, where it just shows up when it wants to instead of on schedule!
What was this thing called? Imgur’s gross bachelorette or something? Haven’t seen these posts in a long time. And no, I don’t know how to search for things on here.
We really got the short end of the mammal stick with the monthly deathbleed and backbreaking honkers. Men get hair and muscles, we get FUCK YOU GIMME CHOCOLATE, and every other mammal is like 'y'all fucked up'.
Im balding and out of shape, so idk what you're talking about on hair and muscles.
That said, I don't envy the bleeding, cramping, requiring additional products for those symptoms, mood swings, etc. You women do have it rough without any external factors.
You're in luck, chubby balding guys are my type! Idk *why*, but current BF is the first one to have a full head of hair past 40 and looking at his mother's brothers he's gonna keep that, but I guess Next Gen spoiled me for the monks cap balding pattern.
Omg the joint pain. The couple days before my period starts is always the worst. I literally feel every single joint and muscle ache in my hips and legs. Sometimes I get headaches even or nausea, it’s rare but it happens. Lately it feels like the older I get the worse the aches and pains get. I switched from tampons to a flex cup which has been a big help elevating some symptoms but nothing gets rid of the constant ache for 2-3 days before I start and going into the first day or 2 of having it
OMG the pain! It will often start in my lower back and go down my hips, knees ankle. Shins and calves muscle aches. If I stretch too hard when laying down my legs will start to cramp up. I'll often take a sick day if it's an onsite workday.
That’s interesting about your leg cramps. I’ve had issues with night calf spasms pretty much my entire life, starting in high school. Always thought it was running track at the time. But that’s a nah because I’ve never stopped having them. And no, stretching/yoga etc makes not one bit of difference. This is all so interesting. How funny that we’re having this conversation on Imgur, in front of dudes, if they’ve gotten this far in the comments!
Same for me but not anywhere near to that extent. Sorry to hear that! I have a couple of friends that were debilitated from their monthly. I got lucky. Mine wasn’t even bad enough to complain but it was a flag of what was coming. So it was an early warning system.
hi everyone! Have you ever tried ibuprofen? I know it sounds silly, but there's something about ibuprofen shutting down the hormone production causing cramps and bleeding. I'm in my 40s and only discovered that, it's been a life changer! I'm doing 200mg 3 times a day for 3 days, way less blood, tissue, very little cramping, I can stand and work, it's night and day. Doesn't really help with period poop but overall feeling so much better. Anyways I thought I'd share. yes my doctor told me to try!
Oh yea, ibuprofen is an essential. It dosnt completely take it all away but it helps for sure. I also forgot to mention the night sweats I get in the couple days leading up and for a day or 2 after it starts. Am I the only one or does anyone else just get so sweaty during that time when they sleep? lol
Totall right there with you on the ibuprofen tip! - 800mg's baby!! Yup. Learnt about it a while back with advil and was super happy about it. I still get the a bit of the joint pain but it's still so much better than without it.
haha I know, where has this been all my life! I actually stumbled upon an article about a viral tweet on ibuprofen and then asked my doctor. I had never heard about it before and suffered for well, over two decades.

It used to always come on Monday so I never had to have it on the weekend. I liked having my weekends period free.
