I looks like a friendly little Huffman tree. They're so cute.

I have NEVER seen an 'aid' for learning this language that was at all helpful. It's always - at best - useless. At worst, MORE confusing.

If you think you can learn Morse with this, you're gonna have a bad time.

+1 for showing a good way of learning it, rather than the bullshit that is the dots and dashes fitted to the shape of letters.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This is almost as bullshit as that though

Whoaaa, it's like a binary search tree.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In fact, this is a rather shitty way to learn Morse code.

Anyone remember that episode of the office

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought this was computer science for a moment

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, Morse code is pretty much a Huffman code

As a CS major I remember programming a Morse code binary tree. Basically going left (dots) are 0 and going right (dashes) are 1.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How did you deal with length?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hear length isn't as bad to deal with as girth.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But how many dots or dashes for each letter?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

E=. I=.. S=...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The lines connecting each node are dots or dashes. U = ..-

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Each level is a dot or dash. left = . right = -

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think the "level" on the tree? So E=1, A=2?

Oudated? I'm currently trying to learn this with my bf so we can communicate by holding hands. I swear it will be great

Would you guys consider adoption of a 30+ unemployed male in your household ? I go to the potty and would love learning Morse with u.

You both work for a paper company?

That's hella cute, GOOD LUCK :)

You from cali?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

northern cali to be specific

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Man I cannot for the life of me decipher this. And I know some morse code.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pay attention to the lines, they are either dots or dashes. So find the chara you want, let's say "J", then follow the lines from start to J

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Start->E->A->W->J is the path, so looking at the connecting lines for that path, they go: .--- and sure enough, "J" is di-dah-dah-dah

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, Im an idiot. I was reading it as each dot....Im dumb.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No problem. It took me like 5 minutes of staring to not do the same thing, first I saw thew chart. Helps that this is stolen from a boy...

That's actually incredible, it's the kind of stuff you see as plotlines in movies.
