I remember getting that gba thinking "their's no way graphics could get better".

Haha, i thought the same when the first screenshots from Duke nukem forever came out

All this does is remind me that my parents bought me a Gameboy Color weeks before the GBA came out, and that's why I'm bitter as an adult

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember asking my brother to buy the color even though the advance was out. I'd never had one and felt like I'd be missing out.

Got myself a GBA emulator, playing this again is great

You can get a modified version that makes it so you can catch all the Pokemon from one game. Is very nice.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm interested, so it replaces all the Pokemon with ones from another game? Or does it just add more on top of the original?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look it up a bit. The Pokemon rom hacking community is huge! There's even stuff like DBZ and Touhou versions.

Anyone who actually owned one of those original GBA would tell you that screen would be absolutely unreadable in that light.

Preach!

Unless u had a fabled AGS 101

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This was exactly my first reaction!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a screen in pic???

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You can buy aftermarket backlit screens now!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

oh, man. I saw this and now I'm thinking super hard about snagging one off amazon

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's Mods that replace the screen with a lit one from the GBA SP. Source: I use one to play music in clubs /a/FZz6q

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Which mod is best for back light?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well there's different mods, front and backlight, but you get best results with an AGS-101-screen from the GBA-SP.There's How-Tos on the web

play music in clubs!? what kind of music? chip tunes ?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup, exactly that! Have some shameless self-advertising: http://triac8bit.bandcamp.com/

What do you use to get output from the consoles? Do you have special soft on the consoles that translates the input on is it elsewhere?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's software. For GBA check out Nanoloop 2. For GB Classic there's Nanoloop 1 and the more powerful Little Sound DJ (short LSDj).

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is 100% random

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

what is?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Using GBAs to play music in clubs lol. Are you like the ultimate hipster? :D

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually it's quite a big scene. It's called "Chiptune" and has been around for about 20 years. It's pretty nerdy though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can confirm. Also, still have that gba, still amazing just needs light

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

There are backlit mods available for that GBA. You should check them out on YouTube if you'd like to give it new life.
