5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

in the span of a few minutes : it goes from amazingly beautiful... to deeply terrifying....for someone with a fear of the ocean that is...

My grandpa always said this to me growing up. It's in my head every time.

Ditto

Grandfather was a Navy pilot; can confirm grandfather’s tell this to their grandchildren.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My dad was navy and he said this all the time.

Sunsets and boobs will always illicit the same reaction. 1st time or 1000th

5 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 2

Sunsets arouse you sexually?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nah, they just inspire wonder and 'ooh' noises

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Truth.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Funny I just don't have that reaction to my chest, especially when I'm trying on clothes

I did a season salmon fishing in Alaska when I was 20. Saw the most beautiful sights but promised myself to never do it again

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

How come?

5 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

It was stinky on the boat. Like, it smelled REALLY bad.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I grew my first beard just to keep the jelly fish from stinging my face when we brought the net up. That was a small annoyance

5 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

Did they call you jellybeard?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For me, it was coming regularly close to death

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The crew were Dirty Mike & the Boys

5 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And they turned the poop deck into a soup kitchen

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because it’s cold, exhausting, smelly, damp, gross, back breaking, work

5 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 2

it's one of those "we're going to drain 5 years of your life in 6 months, but we'll pay you 5 years wages" situations

5 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 0

5 years you say...

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

possible. my first season I make about 10k at 7%. My friend the boat he worked made 36k in the same time at 7%.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There are upsides as well. My family has been in the fishing industry in Alaska for many generations. We’re from Kodiak. Worst of all though

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is being gone from family for so long; if you do more than one season. Which is typical. Just like everything it has it’s ups and downs

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh absolutely! But it is absolutely not work most people would do.
