4chan ex-assistant leak how Vance was nominated as VP

f you have "access to pretty damning stuff", show us.

So basically they're setting up Vance as the replacement for Trump. Yeah, we know.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Not sure I buy the whole story, but the GQP putting up a younger very-right-wing VP is an easy half-step to invoke the 25th on Trump - basically a coup on their own party to install a fascist who they can actually manipulate, unlike Trump who just goes off the wall every day.

Agree that we should ignore an unsupported story from 4chan. But we should pay attention to the Thiel-Vance connection. https://www.forbes.com/sites/antoniopequenoiv/2024/07/16/jd-vance-and-peter-thiel-what-to-know-about-the-relationship-between-trumps-vp-pick-and-the-billionaire/

Russia wants up to blame ourselves and will use Lefts rightful loathing of Musk and corrupt elite to do it.

As it has *always* said at the very top of /b/: "The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood.
Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact."

Source: trust me bro

I love how we're allowed to just make shit up now.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

"I had access to pretty damning stuff." Okay, well...did you take any pictures, report anything, contact the FBI...?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And make this legitimate?? I don’t think so…

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The chances of this anonymous, unreferenced, sourceless 4chan post being based on genuine insider knowledge is very low... but they're not zero

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Plausible. I'd appreciate a secondary source confirmation, though.

2 years ago | Likes 164 Dislikes 2

It sounds plausible because that was essentially the role Cheney played during the W. administration. So from that angle it reads more like fan fiction and I agree that sources would be best.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Always downvote posts like this that a) seem plausible and validates your political views, and b) are completely unconfirmed rumors posted to shit websites. Let's be better.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

This is the only worthy response. No other comment, rife with bias-confirming speculation, is helpful.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would appreciate a name. It would at least make some research easier. Anonymous equals suspicious.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This sounds like a long version of a joke I already made: Trump's dumb and can only work with short names.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Big problem with this: no way that a sign morphing from Trump/Pence to Trump/Vance would sell it to Trump. Any association with Pence in Trump's mind is the kiss of death. He hates Pence for betraying him. That is why it took so long for him to pick a VP: if doormat Pence betrayed him, who can he can trust? So the real question that needs answering is this: what convinced Trump that Vance will never try anything that Trump would if their positions were reversed? It's always projection.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

This sounds a lot like “Biden is a puppet” refactored conspiracy.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Respect to the potential that this might be real, but the idea of a backroom takeover of our politics by the monied elite is not something new, nor is it something that is restricted to one side of the aisle.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At this point, nothing seems too crazy anymore. I'll buy it at this point. ^^

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

What's that one phrase?? DEEP STATE?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I'd like actual evidence, but none of this is even a stretch to believe.

Vance is a useful tool of billionaires in the senate, and Trump is a useful tool for anyone who has tree-fidy.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I’m not sure I believe this. Why would they have a secret coup like this when they’re also having a very public coup already?

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

It's not like Musk is even hiding it with the $45M monthly donations and writing "TRUMP/VANCE LFG" to every tweet but I agree, should take it with a grain of salt

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

The "very public coup" still gives all the power to Trump, and Trump extreme narcissism prevents him to be a good little soldier doing what the rich wants.
Which is kinda his only "redeeming feature", being too much of a dick to be totally bought for

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

pretty much, the right wing couldn't get as much as they'd like under Trump because he's extremely easily distractible and his ego gets in the way

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why not both? If one succeeds and the other doesn't, guess what? They still succeed

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah, you’re totally right on the direction it will go. My main point I was trying to make is that it’s not secret.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

okay, that pretty much confirms the suspicion i had about Vance being the Heritage Foundation's new man after Trump is gone. IFF Trump wins. Trump's the populist figurehead patsy sho will start to implement the HF changes thinking they will enhance his power as president then when they are far enough along there would be a terrible event that would take Trump out and put someone else in. This pretty much says it would be Vance and that he's been groomed for it.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

BUT this makes it look like Vance is just going to be another patsy for the HF. On further thought, why would they have it any other way, yes?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Is this the same as the leak about the gorilla channel?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

DOIN MAH RESEARCH

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They think that they’ll be able to control Trump? Have they been paying attention?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

You should read again. They know they can't control Trump, hence they chose Vance to replace him once Trump has won the presidency.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Oh, they think that they’ll be able to push Trumk to the side and that Vance will tun the show, got it.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Big claims. They'd be more believable if OP had presented some evidence.

2 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 1

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I’m with you on this one.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But it's 4-Chan!!!!!

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I came across to this in 4chan /pol, I recommend taking it with a shaker of salt

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I'd say half an ocean's worth

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, definitely. And for clarity, when I say OP I mean the person who actually wrote this, not you

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

ah yes /pol/ the notorious bastion of truth and facts

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

but you thought you'd repost it anyway, just for shits and points.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The problem is you still chose to post it. This is how disinformation works!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why are your browsing /pol? Lmao

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't know that I believe this; even at face value it's an almost instant flip from helper to leaker. But I can totally see Trump being convinced by the name similarity on a Trump - Pence sign.

2 years ago | Likes 213 Dislikes 5

All the people who work for the billionaire class do it for the MONEY not because they believe in the politics of said billionaires.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it's true the flip can be easily explained by being fired, people do dumber things out of spite all the time.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We know that Don jr was pushing Vance super hard. Any kind of conspiracy to get him on the ticket that doesn't involve Don jr, either as a target for manipulation or as a co-conspirator, feels incomplete. Also any evidence of any kind would be nice!

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

My leading theory was always "since 'Va' and 'Pe' have the same kerning we don't have to pay graphic artists to re-design your campaign material, we can just re-use all the Trump/Pence stuff!"

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Agreed, I'm not sure if I believe it either but it would explain some things. A staffer does what they are ordered to do, the old dilemma of being a cog in a wheel.

2 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Fitting response from a fitting name

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I'd like more evidence, but it does line up with Musk donating so much money to a guy who wants to dismantle the EV market.

2 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 3

Musk doesn't want to sell (and service) millions of cars/yr any more, he's more interested in making robotaxis that charge by the mile

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tesla is fucked as the rest of the auto industry gets serious about EVs. Musk wants his massive payday and then he’ll let Tesla crash. I think he sees his future in spacex as a govt contractor. And the friendliness of trump as president would net some very lucrative contracts for him. That and the tax cuts b

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They want tax cuts.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Musk seems to be a drunk/drugged up mess recently, he probably doesn't know what he's even doing anymore... Fighting some "woke virus" apperantly

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

*mind virus

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well it certainly can't be a woke mind virus he's fighting against, it'd require a mind

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean it sounds plausible but also it’s fucking 4chan.

2 years ago | Likes 755 Dislikes 2

The source isn't reliable worth shit and the story only barely makes sense, but I choose to believe it because I find it funny.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, just look at QAnon... that shit allegedly started as a 4chan joke and snowballed into full blown gun-toting violent stupidity.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

There's a million reasons to doubt this bit of text, but it's true that 1) Vance is Peter Thiel's creation, and 2) Thiel, Musk, the rest of the PayPal Mafia techbros who shaped Silicon Valley into the shit heap it is today, investment/finance people and the other billionaires have been pretty open about being anti-reform and against the Democratic Party. It's been covered and stated by the parties themselves on multiple occasions.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Imo that's how you know it's probably close to reality. I don't believe anyone from 4chan is ever telling the truth about themselves, so this guy is probably full of shit, but the reality is so obvious that it's probably only a shade or two off of this. Musk did a drastic political shift in the last several years, and the pure bullshit the right is spouting now is seemingly intentionally so absurd so as to mask the slightly less awful reality.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Like, they tell you dragons did it so you don't look for trolls

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't buy the story, but the point is an obvious one; Trump prefers stooges and push-overs, so it seems likely that someone influenced his decision. But also, if you think Trump has been pulling the strings the whole time... you deserve to be SHOCKED by 4chan.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

“The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.” -4chan disclaimer

2 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Because it's 4chins I read it as "autistic works of fiction"

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Yeah, I believe it's possible but where's the proof?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I accept this as my political headcannon. Mostly because anything on the political right is fucking radioactive and I want nothing to do with it, so the ins and outs of the current puppet selection process, and the current fascist figurehead are largely irrelevant (they're all bad, no exception). It would be a hoot if real evidence for this came out, but that seems unlikely, even if it is true. That would be much to much of a look behind the screen

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would upvote this sentiment but you are currently sitting at 666 points and a I don't mess with the devil, cause he don't mess with me.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Funny how the vibe changes when you change word positioning to, "I mean it's fucking 4chan --but it's plausible".

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That he is propped up by Peter Thiel isn't a secret, but the rest of the theory sounds like a rerun of "Vice," with Christian Bale as Dick Cheney.

2 years ago | Likes 134 Dislikes 1

They provide no evidence, but this is what the GOP has been for decades…so it’s not really some big conspiracy. It’s played out right in front of us for my entire life. Republican politicians rarely actually believe in the shit they say/vote for. They’re bought and paid for representatives of the ultra rich. Keeping us at each others throats on every possible issue is the only way they can retain their stranglehold on the money and power.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also designated survivor, but there is a note of plausibility to it

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

God that show was such an interesting premise that devolved into such a worthless shitshow for no reason. They had so many INCREDIBLE story beats, and somehow pigeonholed them into being weird, but also generic, bullshit.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmmm almost like it's been done before....

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whether the story of Trump being tricked is true or not, the rest certainly is. Everyone knows the ties to Thiel, everyone knows Trump isn't actually going to be running things (he doesn't have the ability, to begin with). So whether he wanted Vance or was tricked into it is really beside the point. Vance is representing the big money and he'll be running things for them.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The exact specifics of the story may be up to question, but the notion that Trump is little more than a useful idiot and rubber stamp for the actually effective evil political forces in the Right is more than proven by this point. That was his entire first term with the likes of McConnell and Stephen Miller. That the Heritage Foundation folk called up a younger, far more capable and politically extreme Vance and said "hey, wanna be King of the USA in, like, two years?" seems like a given.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly this. Imagine taking an almostgreentext anon post and posting it as a political revelation... lmao

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Believable enough to to turn Trump supporters against him and make them less likely to vote?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Trump/Pence -> Trump/Vance thing sounds *incredibly* plausible.

2 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 1

I work in political marketing. This reads so true to me.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But, that's one huge problem (and getting worse) with political marketing.

Anyone with know-how can make things sound "true-enough." And "true-enough" is a piss poor standard for truth.

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I can buy that part. The whole Trump as a figurehead is nonsense though. Trump is an egotistical maniac. He doesn't sit backseat to anyone. Well maybe Putin because of Kompromat, but certainly not Vance.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If that truly was their setup than it would blow up in their face, maybe they can manipulate convict trump, but they cant control him. Once he gets something in his head, he’ll just do it. Whether its a good idea or not.

They always prepare his speeches but he always goes on a rant on his own. Getting him to follow a plan while letting others take a lead? Nah, not going to happen.

So this whole story sounds very implausible
