Our sweet girl, Marley

She was found along the side of a road weighing 38 pounds (she's about 65 pounds now) with an injured leg. The injury, a fracture-dislocation of the left front leg, appeared to be old injury that they surmised was the reason someone abandoned her. She was extremely skittish when we adopted her and the way she acted led us to believe she was abused by whoever had her before. The only thing they can do for the leg now is fuse the joint, which they said not to do unless it really starts hurting her.

She's been with us for a few months now and she's just about the sweetest dog you could possibly imagine.

She lives for her walks/runs, even when her leg is a bit sore. But she doesn't let that hold her back, she's gotten quite good at running on 3 legs when it's bothering her. We try to hold her back somewhat so she doesn't overdo it, but that can be tough at times. Her zest for life is inspiring.
