Beer tax...
I know there are people out there who always talk about doing a trip to Europe but never do, so I hope this motivates you.

Hoooray for picking an Augustiner tent! They’re the last ones who get the beer from the original 200l wood barrels!!

I was in Lucerne this summer! Switzerland is so beautiful!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Some fairytale shit going on in Switzerland. Sweet pics!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good for you. Prices for Europe have been falling. Everyone should go

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I agree. It was really the final motivation I needed knowing that this would be the cheapest I would ever go over there.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did you just love how clean everything was in Switzerland? Interlaken is so nice. My fave was Salzburg though.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

ALWAYS UPVOTE MÜNCHEN

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't know if I would have came back.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Switzerland and Austria, two of the most beautiful countries in this god forsaken planet

Switzerland <3

Keep traveling all around the world.... Come to Cyprus one time in your life you won't regret it!!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'll add it to the list :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope to go soon As well !!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No need to go now! Cool pics !

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It wasn't just the scenery but also meeting people of a different lifestyle and culture. And of course, food!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After talking about it for 20+ years we finally went 2 years ago when our son was stationed in Bavaria. (1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We visited Munich, Regensburg, Salzburg and Vienna. Twas shear awesomeness. And was more helluva lot affordable than I every thought.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Congrats! Sounds like an awesome trip!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice pictures! +1 to not every one being a selfie

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Hey girl is that you, or did you catch a wild Swede in it's natural habitat?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lmao. Girlfriend who I went on the trip with.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Must be nice to have that kind of disposable income.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Our flight was basically "free" from the rewards points I got on my credit card with their initial offer. I also saved up quite a bit for

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

About six month by not drinking alcohol for three of them and going out less. If accessible, I would maybe look into some cards but if not,

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would suggest saving little by little. I am very fortunate to go on a trip like this and hope someday you can experience your own trip.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Took a 30 day trip this summer. Through Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Budapest,Vienna,Siena and Rome. Fantastic !

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

From Paris to Amsterdam and you went around Belgium to avoid it?!!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well we went through it ... But no we had to pass this time

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess you saw the most important part. Backed up traffic, shitty roads and horrible weather :D You should grab some beers though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha the train had little traffic but yes the weather was not stellar, but i did drink lots of Beer!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can we all agree that, despite how wonderful this photography is (really, @OP -- amazing composition), "Eurotrip" is an atrocious term?

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

How about Eurinetrip?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My apologies and thank you!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, how is it a Eurotrip and the only thing he visited are the Alps.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Are the Alps no longer part of Europe?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Yes they are. But there is a lot more to Europe. It's like saying: I've made a trip through the USA and all you've seen is New York.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's like the nicer end of Europe. Think of it like you're going on a roadtrip around America but completely avoid the Midwest and South.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Got it. I would have never thought of that. I just considered it part of Europe so I said Eurotrip. Thanks for the knowledge.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Quite alright! You should visit again someday, explore a different part of our weird continent.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh my goodness I'm about to do this in feb. all on my lonesome

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Read comment, then read bio, then I saw your airline tickets and put two and two together

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Curious what the price of a trip like this costs?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Overall pretty spendy but mostly because of Switzerland and going out to eat/get drinks so much. My flight was $470.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did 5 weeks around central europe (from Ireland) and it set me back €2,700 everything in

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Need a travel buddy?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Are you travelling those times? =p

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No... but I'm always looking for an excuse to travel!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did it back in April-May. It was amazing, even alone, youll meet people along the way

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I hope so...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where are you staying while travelling? Hostels, hotels, bnbs, couches etc?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You'll be disappointed to know I've put zero planning it and am just gonna wing it. Is that bad? Haha

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was going off the probably wrong assumption that it's the off season so things will be cheaper =p

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No it'll definitely be cheaper in the off season. If you'd like advice, tips or anything feel free to send me a message with any questions:)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Great pics! Planning to go in 2019, and can't wait.

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

You're going to have to, 2019 isn't for at least another year. Maybe more.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*sigh* Alright fine I'll come

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hey, buddies are always welcome to come with! Especially international bar-hopping!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can I come? I've always wanted to go

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you want good beer, go to Belgium! :o

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sometimes I wonder what Stella actually tastes like

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Like a good pils beer :p

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Belgium is on my short list! :)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you want to taste all the beers, you're going to need a long stay ;) Certainly try the abbey beers (Westmalle, Leffe, Chimay,...)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you go, Brussels is a let down ! Brugge is where it's at!!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Brussels is oke, Brugge is the indeed nice, and Antwerp as well!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And try leuven as well!!!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Brugge, Ghent, Antwerp and maybe Brussels. But also smaller cities like Lier are nice to see

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Awesome! Do you know where you're planning on going yet?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Tossing around some ideas - Ireland, Scotland, Belgium are up there, but I'm still up in the air, looking around.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'd highly recommend visiting Prague and Budapest!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice places in Romania, just in case: Sibiu, Cluj, Sighisoara, Wooden churches of Maramures, fortified churches in Transilvania. Salut!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How's the language barrier there? (Admittedly, I can barely speak *English*, much less second language.)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's a thought - I've seen good pics from Romania, and I've never been that far east before.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wales? ;)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Was in Wales back in 2011. (Stuck to the central and central-western area, exploring.) I LOVE it there and would REALLY consider going back.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would feel raped to pay 10,90€ for a beer with so much foam :(

8 years ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 37

You're supposed to leave some foam to prevent oxydation and preserve the flavour, but that amount is just sinful

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

It's actually how the beer should be poured.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not saying it's right.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most countries have laws dictating that the actual beer (not foam) must reach a certain line on the stein.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, Augustiner’s very cheap, the beer is my favourite one from Munich and that’s the price of a full sized dish

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You’re right! *cancels trip to Europe*

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Those are the words of somebody that hasn't been raped, I'm guessing.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

When I went this summer, I never encountered a beer with this much foam. At this restaurant chain too even! Always plenty of beer.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can always go to the bar and let your beer refill when the foam is gone. But I agree, still way too expensive

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like it comes with roast chicken? Tried to google translate so not sure

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is.. roasted chicken half’s that is.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Free shave!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's a tourist mass. If they can rip you off they will

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Its still more than you can ever get in usa in a pour

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

Also they are bad pours

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Uhhhhh...okay. You think that. Even though it's pretty apparent you haven't been to the states. Or at least the right part.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Lmfao what. My shitty local restaurant has $4 happy hour pints that are poured 10x better than that. I live in Arizona too

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's the price for half a chicken, not the beer

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right, but the Price for a maß is more or less the same if i remember correctly

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stuffed with parsley, I might add.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Everyone saying that's not the price of the beer - you cannot see it on the menu, but price is 10.60 at the moment, for 1L of strong beer >

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

> ofc not usually with that much foam. But the price increases every year :( but be warned about the alcohol percentage it has.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How much %?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Must be about 6%, but you won’t taste it.. that’s so dangerous. You will think its a bit tasteless but it will hit you good

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not the price of the beer

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

That’s is the price of a beer in the tents. Source: was there this year

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

but the price for the beer is quite the same

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah my bad read too fast, it’s with the half chicken.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah but you aren't wrong. 10.90 for a beer is legitimate rape

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

When you know you pay about 3.50 for a weizen in a pub, yeah it hurts :D

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The 10.90€ is the price for a dish with 1.2kg of chicken

8 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 0

does the chicken come with extra head too?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends if your mom is making it.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

but the beer price is similar

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Almost. It's for half a chicken

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

it says 1200 g of chicken below that

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It says half a chicken from a 1200g chicken, so it'll be 600g chicken.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

with bones. Don't forget the bones.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah, of course. Missed the vom and the half symbol in the beginning

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Every single town in Germany has something like a scaled down Oktoberfest, usually multiple ones per year. Just visit one of those, and 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

you will be delighted to see very cheap prices for beer from their local brewery. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But nothing ever tops the craziness of the original...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I know, was living in Germany for five years, but i was in a wein producing area so weinfest were more common. Did the frühlingsfest tho :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah no not everywhere the prices fall buddy

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Keep in mind I wrote "town" not "city".

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

in my hometown the price is usually around 11€
