He looks so different without the mustache.

who is that?

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's Pee-wee Herman versus Tony Hale

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

His what? Freddy Mercury’s what?!

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Then he smoked a few cocks on his way out.

Guard in the background is fucking stoked to see Freddie

not really on topic here, but god damn did Rami Malek fit his role so well in that movie. Was worth watching multiple times.

I never seen him so vulnerable like in the music video, makes me cry each time only thinking about it ...

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

the man has died, the legend will live forever.

Freddie Mercury's what?

1 month ago | Likes 115 Dislikes 1

A Made Man.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They were going to write "Freddie Mercury's final public appearance was on Feb...", but then changed it, and missed the extra <'s> that should have been removed(?)

1 month ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Freddie Mercury is made his final appearance...

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

are you fucking sorry?

1 month ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Hehe I get it

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I assume it's an abbreviation of "has" ?

1 month ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

The present perfect makes no grammatical sense here.

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

None whatsoever, I agree. But it's the only thing that might fit...

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Reportedly, Brian May was able to show Freddie a VHS tape of the Wayne's World scene with Bohemian Rhapsody shortly before his death, and Freddie loved it and gave it his blessing. It's something we can't know if it's 100% true, but I really hope it was to give him some positivity about just how beloved he and his music still were in his last days.

1 month ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

That scene really brought the sing back into the public eye. It's a real shame he didn't get to see the public reaction to it. The original meme

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm certain he knew it'd get a revival. Everyone in the band are banger songwriters in their own right and they dappled in all sorts of genres beyond just stadium and pop rock.

This is the true story of how Freddie met John, Brian and Roger.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Wild to think that if he'd contracted HIV only five years later he'd likely still be alive today.

1 month ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

His death, and humanitarian concerts and what not after made a huge leap in that progress!

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He lived in the fast lane, with Fast Cars...

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The song 'Don't stop me now' was written by Freddie about his love for fast living - it's my favourite Queen song, but it always brings a twinge of sadness, knowing that he probably contracted HIV in that period of his life.

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That five years wasn't just the gradual progress of medicine though. I'd say more of if government systems at the time didn't treat HIV/AIDS like "the gay disease" and deliberately let gay people die rather than acknowledge it as a global health crisis, he'd still be alive today.

1 month ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 2

And sadly, it took big, high profile deaths like his to really raise awareness among the general public to the point that governments finally had to start doing something about it.

1 month ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's not wild to say that Ronald Reagan killed Freddie Mercury.

1 month ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

He didn't directly cause it, but basically gave it a thumbs up. Reagan's legacy is some of the worst poison that will never stop damaging America for what it did and what it set up for the future in so many ways.

Trump: Hold my beer

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's a perfect example of "social murder". Reagan didn't pull the trigger, but he did set up the dominos and then knocked over the first one.

1 month ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Gotdamn, that man knew how to dress himself.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What's funny is that both he and Rob Halford (gay singer for Judas Priest) both started dressing the way people at the gay bars dressed (Freddie as a Castro Clone, and Rob from the leather bars), and then when they performed, the fans didn't catch on and just thought it was cool. Then all the metal crowd started dressing like gay leathermen without knowing it.

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

As a clueless heterosexual male, what is with all the leather straps in the gay culture? Are they just handles? Places to hang accessories??

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Part of it is fashion (like people who wear leather vests and pants). It shows people you may be into a more kinky sub/dom sort of thing, or you just want to fit in at the club. The leather armbands around your bicep tell people if you're a top (left arm), bottom (right arm), or down for whatever (both arms). If you wear a leather harness (those are straps around shoulders and chest), part of that is fashion, but part is they're handles to grab during sex.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This was more important decades ago because you didn't have an internet profile to tell people what you were into sexually, and you don't want to wear a big sign, so you did things like clipping your keys to a belt loop (on the left for top, on the right for bottom), and colored handkerchiefs (I don't think this was widespread, people know it but not many actually did it), each color stood for a sex act, and left back pocket/right back pocket to show top/bottom.

Hopefully he and his mustache were reunited in Valhalla

The superman effect going strong because I 100% didn't recognize him without it.

1 month ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

I had to look at his eyes and the shape of his hairline/head (cranium?).

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But he still has his scarf.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Possibly to hide the carcinomas, which is one of the reasons Klaus Nomi wore stuff on his neck

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It's also why he had that rough-looking beard in most of the music videos shot in 1989 and 1990 (all of the videos from The Miracle and Headlong from Innuendo).

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was not aware, thank you.

The mustache showed up late, actually.

Fun fact: Fans HATED IT. They hated it so much that fan letters sometimes included razors so he could shave it off.

Irrelevant and informative - a rare combo!

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How is that very relevant photo irrelevant?

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The comment and photo are velvet to the very comment to which they were replying.

It doesn’t have any bearing at all on whether the original comment had ever seen Friday without a mustache

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I was just providing some info, guessing that people who had only seen Freddy with a mustache may have discovered Queen later in their run, when he was mustache free for about the first half of his career. It was fun watching their style change from the glam rock era into disco and then the wild 80s.
