This is so cool! I would do so many crazy things if i had these lol. I'd hide one under someones bed and tap on the wall at night. xD Just think if Boston Dynamics got into this with some gyro systems, She could litteraly walk her hands on the fingers around places!!!
Ok, so like, how much would it cost to remove the arm I have and put on one of these? Asking for a friend. (I have no friends, I'm asking for me. I want a cyber arm.)
Im fully aware its not "cool" or "hip" to lose any part of your body and replace it with bionics, but between this and the guy with the laser eye? Sheesh, I dunno man! It looks pretty rad
Electrode sensors in the bionic arm. The nerve fibers in your arm still send electrical signals as they always did, down to where the amputation occurred. I believe these devices detect those signals and pass on the appropriate messages to the arm.
Tilly Lockey was on 'This Morning' about a month ago along with the inventor of her bionic arms. Worth watching the full interview and demonstration here: https://youtu.be/UgC7la_3IIA
Of note: if you're an amputee in the UK, they mentioned that those bionic arms are available on the NHS!
It's called the handy and it came out in 2017 it's 169$ with offline, Bluetooth, and online modes and uses a brushless DC motor and can adjust speeds from 32mm/s to 400mm/s at about 4.3 in length.
It comes with 1 TrueGrip sleeve, 1 TrueGrip band, and a power supply, it weighs about 1.3 lb, The sleeve is made of soft thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). And soap and water is fine for cleaning, be sure to not overheat the sleeve and do not submerge The Handy in water.

Please forgive my ignorance but how does she move it? Even when it's attached how does your brain give a signal to the mechanics of the arm?

I figured it might be something like that, but how fucking amazing. Thanks

Does this take dick to floor ratio into account (D2F)?
KainLamond
DM me a pic and I'll see
skibbyAU
We can have different D2Fs if we account for the complimentary jerk angle
