One small correction, Iran didn’t technically close the strait and realistically their military likely couldn’t close it. Ships need to carry insurance to cover their ship and its cargo to pass through the strait per EU rules. The increased potential threats to ships due to the US and Israel instigating this war has skyrocketed premiums required to 10-12 times the usual rate making it financially unsustainable. What makes it dumber is that one of the biggest reasons the threat and rates jumped
