The orca story made me very sad. Poor thing. And fuck this type of parks :'(

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

We are trying to shut them down. The facility is a disgrace. But families still pay to watch that whale suffer.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Nirvana feels.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Lolita's story is sad as hell. If I had enough character's, I would go on a Marine bio tirade. But I don't...sooo.....yea.....awkward....

Every year, a group in New England makes a book called 'Pink Pages' that is basically the Green Book for LGBT stuff.

i dont blame them. we just had to make the room just clean enough for tmrw's suckers.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ugh, yeah, I used to teach in Korea. Kids can't clean for shit.

a 56 edition of the green books is available online: http://library.sc.edu/digital/collections/greenbook.html

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why on Earth would the Negro's guide to travel 1950's America have a white couple on the cover of it?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So that it could be sold in all stores. Many stores would not sell things that even pictured Blacks.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Sauciness?

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I read the one about Roy and the tiger first. It sounded so ridiculous that I thought these were satirical facts. Is that fucking true!?

10 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 2

Funny I was just telling my nephew that if you had a tiger from a cub it will not attack you.. But probably kill you by accident or playing

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It sounds like bs, but on the other hand if Montecore wanted him dead, he'd be fucking dead.

10 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

It's def what Siegfried and Roy have claimed since it happened.

10 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

that was my first thought too. they care too much about the tigers that they'd want them protected in a positive light

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It is. A quick glance at wikipedia tells me that Roy stressed that no harm should come to the tiger. He lived for another 10-11 years.

10 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 3

To save some people a google search: the tiger lived 10-11 more years, Roy is still alive.

10 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

You're the real hero.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*danger zebra

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yes. Tigers carry their cubs by the neck, so Montecore thought it would be ok to carry Roy that way.

10 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 2

woah

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Montecore wanted to protect Roy.

SEAWORLD IS THE WORST

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 11

There are so many better worlds

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Not SeaWorld. The Miami Seaquarium. Evidently, protesters are common. Lawsuit this week gave them rights to hand out pamphlets by the front.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Blackfish came out. Almost all of what blackfish said were lies. I ask if you'd please look at some counter facts and see for yourself.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

Could you please message me and let me know? I'm really interested! I saw blackfish and felt that it was a bit too "propaganda-ish"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not SeaWorld. It's Miami Seaquarium. Completely different company.

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Still doe

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

If you're saying Miami Seaquarium is bad, then I agree. SeaWorld on the other hand is a great company and Blackfish is bullshit.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Source? Or do you work for Seaworld? I love SW. First park I've ever been to as a kid. I really hope all the press isn't true.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seaworld released a 32 page pdf that debunked all the claims in the movie. I'd link it but the link is over 140 chars. You can google for it

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for pointing this out. Lots of bad stuff happens and gets lumped into SeaWorld

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

SeaWorld is a good company that does a lot of good for many hurt animals, I hate the prejudice set on SeaWorld after the propaganda (1/2)

Wait... has it been accepted? The July update doesn't mention a response.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No, the Miami Seaquarium is still in violation of the ESA but has been able to keep her year after year. There many organizations suing.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Miami seaquariaum is a shithole. I went there a couple of years ago and the tanks so dirty with rusty bolts. They should close it.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe competitors get bought out?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, Pornhub is a platform for anyone or company to upload adult content, doesn't make it look the same at all.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I wish that was the case but it all looks the same to me - the same bored expressions, the same awkward angles. No passion, no reality.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That said, I love your work and your social media presence is spot fucking on.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

While fair, I'm not really a fan of gay porn. Glad the people who like it get good stuff, though.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, like I needed another reason to idolize Dave Grohl

10 years ago | Likes 142 Dislikes 3

I feel like if he was alive today, Cobain wouldn't like Grohl's "Rock 'n Roll Jesus" personae that he portrays.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I would agree if I thought it was a persona. I do not think he's putting on an act. Secondly, I don't really see the Jesus vibe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But kurt cobain basically friendzoned him in that letter!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

TIL Dave Grohl used to look like Jerry Seinfeld

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm confused as to why an interviewer would ask this

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

Interviewers try to ask questions that probably haven't been asked before. It's not a terrible question

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Why are people asked what kind of tree they would be?...

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So what your telling me is that we need to find the guy who gave a former alcholic a drink and teach him a lesson.

10 years ago | Likes 177 Dislikes 13

Wonder if it was Andy Dick.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let's have Tyson do it.

10 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 1

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Master was a shitty movie. Like a meal with only vegetables. I now hate that movie even more.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm an alcoholic that has had progressively worse relapses over the past 10 years (sober now). It was always my choice, and mine alone.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm in the middle of a relapse right now.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh damn. How bad is it right now? You can message me if you like. I've been through the worst of the worst.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. PSH knew what it took to resist it, and he didn't do it. Anyone can put the drink in your hand, but it's up to you to swallow.

10 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 7

If it was that easy, there's wouldn't be any addicts. Hoffman was very open about his addiction, because he knew it was a problem.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yes and no? Any addict would be hard pressed to say no to their addiction being dangled. Peer pressure and a long time sober tricks one in1/

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

I'll sum it up this way: if it was as easy as "Just don't do it.", no one would be an addict and no one would choose to be.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Of course. But blaming someone else (or no one) for your actions isn't right either, Step 10 is important for long-term sobriety.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Yes and no? Any addict would be hard pressed to say no to their addiction being dangled. Peer pressure and a long time sober tricks one in1/

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

Granted, but if the server didn't know he was in recovery, how do you hold him responsible? I hate that he died the way he did, but /1

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

/2 everyone is responsible for their decisions. He had the option to walk away, or do something else, he decided not to for better or worse.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Have him pay Andy Dick a visit also.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

good fucking call.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is up to the individual to be responsible for their actions. I don't know it was, but maybe he didn't know PSH was a former alcoholic.

10 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 7

Yea, my good friend is a recovering addict. He gets offered a drink weekly. Those folks offering don't know.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn... 2 minutes ahead of me. GMTA, hmm? :)

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's this commercial for a rehab facility, and the owner says, "I used to be an addict, but now I'm not." And there goes your credibility

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He pisses me off.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#1, also, ever since then, Ferrari hasn't won at LeMans.

10 years ago | Likes 695 Dislikes 4

LeMans...like the final form of a LeSbian.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Also almost every car ferrari entered before that won.

10 years ago | Likes 113 Dislikes 2

But ever since the "mutt" went and taught the "purebreeds a lesson" they've yet to get back on their feet.

10 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

Because Ferrari did everything they could to disqualify the GT40.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

HA.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Except they've won the GTE Pro class quite a few times.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah but it's still not overall

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

GT 4uck y0u

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

So how much Le Mans credit are we giving to the automobile, vice the driver?? As someone who knows nothing about auto racing

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Both have to be great in order to win.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The fact is this car was far ahead of its time in engineering and it had a great team of people, drivers, mech, owners(Ford)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Still glad they backed out. Ford would have ruined them

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I wish.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not true. Ford would have probably made them fun to drive.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ever since then, no american car won

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 20

http://www.drivesrt.com/racing/viper-gts-r/history/ viper has won a couple

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

other category man

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yet, only American thing in GT40 was the engine block of Ford V8 and Ford's massive budget. Rest was mainly from Europe origin from Lola.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

It was a joint effort to fuck Ferrari up, can we agree on that?

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Some corvettes have won their gt class many times

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I said gt not prototype class, also there are American teams and drivers on that list

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Last weekend at cota le mans ford's ecoboost won. I was there, saw it with my own eyeballs

10 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

You lucky bastard.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You seent it?!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you I didn't see it audi correct

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

GT40 is such a sexy car.

10 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

Its a shame it's made like shit in comparison. There's an episode of How its Made that features the GT40. If you love the car don't watch it

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Really? That actually makes me sad. But hey, if it was good enough to kill Ferrari...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really? That actually makes me sad. But hey, if it was good enough to kill Ferrari...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It just makes you wonder how crappy the rest of their assembly lines are if their super car get wobbly welding and fucked up gas tanks.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is something romantic to be said that the bucket of bolts could beat Ferrari.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How much longer did they remain in sports cars after that?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They kept trying to bring the GT back but it only worked out in the 2000's.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Sorry I mean how long did Ferrari stay in sports cars? Looking forward to Ford's new Gt next year!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ferrari kept spewing out their boy toys for as long as humanity can remember.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

But Ferrari hasn't been involved in sports car racing as a manufacturer for some time now. Certainly not le mans.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...and they're bringing it back next year! http://monkeydrives.com/images/ford-gt40-le-mans-1-1.jpg

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I don't know who to support. My Ford and Ferrari loyalties have never clashed before!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's only room for one horse.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"VROOM VROOM, MOTHERFUCKER!" -Ford GT spotting a Ferrari at Le Mans.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As they're both beaten by the Porsche 911 RSR?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Later Ferrari insulted the owner of a tractor making company who then made a car to beat Ferrari at LeMans. The company was Lamborghini.

10 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 5

2/2 He realised that they were the same as used in some of his tractors so he decided to make his own cars

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Actually, Ferruccio Lamborghini wanted his cars to be very road-centric. Even refusing to pay an engineer who made an engine "too race-like"

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They didn't race much. Also, Lambo pre-dates the GT40.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Trufs

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Was owner's name Albert Einstein?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Actually the guy wasn't insulted, he was a Ferrari owner who saw the bill for the clutch replacement for his car 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

The story I've always heard was that Lamborghini wanted the clutch adjusted. Ferrari said no the car is perfect, the driver is the problem.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The car belonged to hi

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also worth noting that the very first year Ford ran the GT40, they brought three cars to Le Mans, and came first, second and third.

10 years ago | Likes 330 Dislikes 3

They went thru several prototypes (and drivers, sadly) before winning at Le Mans. Read "Go Like Hell," about the feud, if you're into cars.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha RIP

10 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

Yeah, uh.. That isn't true. The first GT40 wasn't a great car. They sure got it right a couple years later, though

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, it was because Ferrari wanted to keep running the racing team, Ford beat his pride during those years.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The first GT40s didn't win Le Mans, it took a few years

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

The Daytonas were the flops.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want to say it wasn't until the Mk IV that they won at Le Mans but I'm not 100% sure about that.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was pretty sure that was it but I didn't want to look like an idiot with wrong answers

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

None of the Ferraris that year finished the race.

10 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

They died before they even hit the ground.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"To finish first, first you must finish."

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That happened in 1966, but they started trying in 1964. I forget which car, but one of the drivers was Bruce McLaren!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Shelby Daytona.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Who then went on to found McLaren who also ended up winning the 1995 25 Heures du le Mans.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's the guy! Not to mention the F1 team and all their championships

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Interesting note: The current "Ford GT" is not known as the GT40 because Ford let the trademark be sold and when they went to make the GT /1

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

the company holding the rights to the car tried to play hardball. Ford decided it wasn't worth it and dropped the "40" from the name. /2

One of my favourite stories of a trademark troll getting nothing and the company they fought losing nothing in the process.

Original GT40 was also called just GT during development. Don't remember why they added the height there at some point.

The techs kept referring to it as such, and it stuck. "GT" was the class of racecar with 2 doors & seats; adding the 40 differentiated it.

Also because it would technically have to be the GT44; the GT40 was 40" tall, the newer road car is slightly larger.

It's also not 40inches tall anymore. It's a little bit bigger to be comfortable because it's a road car.

But it isn't practical in a car park/parking lot at a grocery store because your head is getting chopped off
