Ever since 2 years ago, I was close to approaching 200 pds. My moment of realization was when at a strip club at 19 and I saw myself in a mirror. 'Wow I have let myself go'. The time to change was nigh.

Now I'm at a great 135pds and now currently bulking myself up and toning.

I feel healthy, I look great. The only problem, one last obstacle is my stance on height (pun intended)

I'm 5'6 tall and it's a little bit of a bummer seeing other guys who are much taller than me. Especially how society has deemed around or over 6' demigod status.

Now I know the usual 'its not about the height, make up for it in personality'. But my realistic side of me already knows first appearances are most important. I already have a disadvantage.

I suppose to feel higher; I really must strengthen my confidence and remember my height makes me unique. What are your thoughts? Any 'uplifting' words of wisdom?
Thank you for making it this far

Long story short: I don't have the high ground and I under-estimate my power

Duck tax

As a lady, I can assure you that height doesn't matter. It's a preference for some, but definitely not all.

Don't sweat it. A person who looks at you differently because of your height is not one you should know or interact with.

Come to my part of Asia , we are all like 5 to 5'4 lol

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

if anyone avoids you only because of your height then they arent worth your time bro

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

You're fine. Prince, Bruno Mars, Elijah Woods, Al Pacino, and many more are all your height or shorter. Word of advice? Humor always helps

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

You cant really change your height, but personality is more important! There are so many jackasses out there.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

5'5" dude here. Just roll with it. It sucks sometimes, but we have the advantage of blending in more. If you're confident, you won't have ..

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

/2 an issue. I've never had a lover I was with complain about my height. If you're cool, they will love you.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a 5’ girl you’re perfectly tall for me! Nothing wrong with being shorter than your lady either though! So proud of your weight loss!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Im sure you can find a delightful tall gal and spoon with her and you'll be her lil' jetpack

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

That's the plan!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Being tall isnt a personality. You do you.

No point in worrying about things outside of your control, just continue focusing on things you can control brother

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Want to correct the disadvantage? Volunteer to walk/spend time with a pup. Women will flock to you.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Big facts.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

tall ones are the easy targets, use them for cover

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

5'8" here, 32, never struggled in the girl department, did struggle in the confidence department. In my early 20s I just stopped caring 1/

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

For no specific reason. I'm great in lots of ways, if someone doesn't like you because of your height, they weren't worth your time 2/2

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

As you get older and more mature, people don't care about that shit. Although I think half the girls I dated were my height or taller anyway

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Don't let other people dictate your worth, only you decide that. Just keep looking for someone that sees what you have to offer.

5 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

I’ll take this advice and pocket it. I’m in a similar boat as OP, it’s funky believing the court of public opinion and hard to live with.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Just find a girl/guy who appreciates you. Anyone shallow enough to worry about height isn't worth your time.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

5'6'' here, i'd say a little above average shape, confidence really is the key. LMK when you find it, i don't know how either....

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

I'll get on your shoulders with a tall trenchcoat

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Imagine a 10ft tall guy.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Together we shall be unstoppable! Thanks for the laugh

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

5'9 and feel the same way sometimes. I've dated taller girls and can confirm, difference comes when a girl sees you confident in yourself.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Lots of tall women usually never get asked out. Ask my GF. I’m 5’7ish and she’s just over 6ft. It’s great, she can reach the top shelves!

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 2

I'm attracted to tall/taller women, unfortunately I've seen about 3 of them in my life total, since I'm 184cm, so statistics is against me.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a shame. I'm attracted to short women and tall women but less so average height. Guess I'm just weird.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Haha 5"6 dude! I'm 5"3 don't u worry, plus most of my friends are 6"1 and up, some ppl find it funny and u know what, IT IS. But so what

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it makes you feel any better, based on your christmas selfie, you're fucking sexy as hell

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can't let the things you can't change consume you. Gonna have a bad time.

5 years ago | Likes 130 Dislikes 1

Agreed, but ironically there's a front page post with a Lady who did just initiate change (the Dwarf lady that did the break surgery).

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Life is too short to worry. Don’t let the little things get you down. It’s tiny in the grand scheme of things.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This comment really measures up.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tom Cruise is like 5'4" and he runs a whole cult and makes like $40mil a year.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Don't try to make up for height with working out and muscles. I've known a lot of people try to do that. Be funny, smart

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Funny is hard for me in not really sure how to get better at it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Body building comes off like insecure over-compensation. Funny and smart just comes off funny and smart.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Strive to be funny and smart, but nothing wrong with a strong, fit physique, girls like muscles too

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I've seen when people go too far, looking like Bane amongst munchkins

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I'm not saying you shouldn't work out, jsut don't get on the juice and end up like a square lol

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

“Tall for a chick” here to show my appreciation for guys that aren’t afraid to go up on us. Don’t believe the nonsense emasculation.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Also please enjoy this photo of Peter Dinklage with his family that I recently happened upon in user sub.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

You're fine, the 6' thing is mostly a meme anyway.

5 years ago | Likes 140 Dislikes 8

Yeah honestly 6'+ is just a sore neck waiting to happen. Source - am a girl. Leave them to the super tall girls.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My fiancée is 5’9”; I know you’re a few inches shorter than that, but he also always was self conscious about his height. All I can say >

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

> is, hes my favorite person I’ve ever met in my whole life, and theres so many other things I noticed about him, and height for me never >

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

> factored into it. He is taller than me, but if he wasn’t, I still can’t imagine feeling differently about him. Adults love people for >

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

> who they are and what they do with what they can control, and height isn’t one of those things. Manage your life on your own terms, and >

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

> be open to meeting another adult (know the difference), and you’ll find someone that will wipe this insecurity off the board!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I needed this thank you!

5 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

My husband is 5’3 and he’s perfectly sexy to me :)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So far height (6'3) has only helped me bump into more stuff ?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a 6'1'' guy, my outgoing fit funny 5'7'' friend always had a better time with women. Yes height helps, but its far from the only thing. 1

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Find what does make you stand out - skin tone, eyes, hair style, fashion sense, and work it. No one has everything.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Also, the only women that actually care enough about height to not date you over it are too shallow to be worth your time.

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Idk bro I have a friend who is like 5’4 and IMO not attractive, rich, or fit- but the dude seems to just PULL like 5’10 baddies. He’s had

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Many girlfriends and flings. Isnt like super smart or funny or anything. Really think it’s a confidence thing. I also know some other

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Shorter friends who went the other route and got ripped, gained confidence from that, and have been killin the game ever since. So really

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I am very convinced is a confidence thing- and the being short bit just makes it harder to be confident in yourself. Get out of your head.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

And you’ll 100% see chicks who only date certain types of tall guys, but consider it a blessing cause those types are usually cunts lol.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Height is nothing to be self-conscious about..your heart and mind are what really counts :)

5 years ago | Likes 251 Dislikes 4

And your height!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And soul.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah this is true, except to girls. The painful truth is that you’re correct, us under 6ft guys are at a distinct disadvantage.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

And the size of your pene too...

5 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

I'm more of a rigatoni guy

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I agree with analbeads^

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah this is true, except to girls. The painful truth is that you’re correct, us under 6ft guys are at a distinct disadvantage.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

Exactly. Knew a guy that was really self conscious about his height, even after I told him many times I didn't care. Was one of the reasons-

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

we never got together. (One other was jealousy, but that's another story). Fact is there are lots of women that don't care about height.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What ^ says! She's right!

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Yeah this is true, except to girls. The painful truth is that you’re correct, us under 6ft guys are at a distinct disadvantage.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Let's be real here, anyone who's gonna axe you on the basis of being too short isn't worth anyone's time.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah maybe not, but it still cuts down the options by a whole lot for short guys.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5'7" here and I would tend to say your wrong. Uncomfortably so

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

On the other hand, I'm apparently an imcubus so not the best reference.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's unfortunate ..that I'm wrong I mean.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you're talking about your earlier comment I don't think your wrong?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a 5'11" woman and have dated several man, long term, who were shorter than me (5'6-5'8"). Some even loved me in heels. Don't sweat it.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

There’s always the unique exception, but we’re talking about majorities here. MOST women don’t even see shorter guys in the first place.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm very proud to not be part of the MOST catagory I'm 5'6 and have dated several men shorter than me

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a 6'4 guy who loves, LOVES tall women. I'm sad that I've only dated one girl that I had to go up on... plus I have knee and back problems

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's primarily an issue with online dating. It's a big meat market there. Tinder is especially bad for this.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I did online dating for a bit. It was hard convincing men that it really didn't matter to me.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They're probably used to wading through the "6' or taller only," "I like to wear heels," and "need someone to reach the top shelf." Profiles

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice job! But theres one thing that is bothering me about this story: using pds as a unit

5 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 1

My apologies, abouttttt 63kg at the moment

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

Holy shit. You're overdoing it, my man. That's not a healthy weight for an adult.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

I'm about the same height and weight and while I'm lean, I'm not particularly skinny. I wouldn't be concerned

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That’s roughly 0.43 washing machines, right?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I don’t think that’s what he/she meant

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

No? Well, it was bugging me too....

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The abbreviation is lbs, not pds, which is what I think they meant

5 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

But the kgs is what we in the rest of the world understand!
How do u get “lubbs” (or how would u pronounce it?) as short f “pounds” anyway?

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Ans do you say kigs instead of kilograms/kilos? Come on, dude...

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

whoosh

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Abbreviation of Latin 'Libra'

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It’s an abbreviation of the Latin word for ‘pound’ which is ‘libra’

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You don't pronounce abbreviated words as their abbreviation. "Etc." is always pronounced "etcetera".
