Is this Chris Hemsworth preparing for the third Thor movie?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I don't know her but I'm proud of her. You really have to try (and fail lol) at this to realize how much skill it takes!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can you say...i want an injury?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

saw this going differently...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bad for the knees. On the other hand she's taking Deca°, do...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What she's doing is working her stabilizers more than her legs....

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

DEATH BY SNUSNU!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Judging by the size, those are likely both 70 pound kettlebells. Damn.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm tired just watching her

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I couldn't do that in zero gravity.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I don't think people understand how hard this is. Please don't try this unless you are trained to do so.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is not an exercise you use to get into this kind of shape, this is an exercise you can only do because you are in this kind of shape.

Lol try to grab her by the pussy...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

i was thinking that too, but was to scared to say it hahaha

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah to be young and not have knees that sound like you're popping corn every time you try to get up.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I train with a 57yo guy who has really loud crackly knees. Still squats 450 for reps to competition depth.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this you, @OP?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't even do that with empty hands.

9 years ago | Likes 249 Dislikes 1

I can't even watch that with empty hands.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's actually easier with weight as it shifts your centre of gravity, also never trust the size of kettle bells. Could weigh 5kg each.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The sheer amount of cracking my knees would make would cripple me physically and emotionally.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I can't even do that with help and grab bars.

This "creative" workouts are just a way to fuck your ligaments while showing off

Then you wouldnt like ido portal ^^ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0Wr7HsylE0 developed his own crazer version of capoeira.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Says random guy who can't even use grammar properly.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

That's cool and all, but it really can't be good for your knees whatsoever.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

It actually is very good for you, and extremely difficult. Source: personal trainer married to a physical therapist.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I like how you respond with facts and all these hater ass men had to vote down.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I don't think you know what the word 'fact' means. Just saying that this is true doesn't make it true.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No way? I just figured that going below parallel with the floor would be bad for you. The more you know!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I heard a good quote once that went "if we weren't made to bend that far, why wouldn't evolution stop it?"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These kettle bells are actually only about 25-35lb. We have some just like them at our gym. Nonetheless that's impressive as fuck

"get ups" are one of the hardest exercises you can do. Not to mention the real life applicability of these.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Only?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Only? I bike and hike up mountains, am a fit dude and this looks brutal as fuck.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

That's not very impressive lol.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

You must be a badass.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Only?

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure they're more likely 25kg NOT lbs... so 55lbs each is more like it.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I have the same kettle bells at my gym, they're 35lbs or less

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Orly?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Think that weight is pretty standard, if not less, for a lot of female crossfitters. Very impressive.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You are correct, it's normally one 35lb for girls

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

While I admire the feat, going past a parallel squat is very damaging to your knees. Especially when the leg moves laterally in the end

IMO the lateral movement adds unnecessary shear stress to the ligaments and tendons of her knee. (1/?)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Once her knee starts making an acute angle the SA that the shear stress works on decreases. Ligaments are very weak to shear forces. (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

1) Debunked, actually. Turns out it's the sheering forces of leg extensions that were destroying knees in the gym.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The leg extension creates sheer on the ACL/PCL...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This isn't a squat. Also I'm just saying from a biomechanics perspective that going as far as she did may harm her mcl/lcl or meniscus.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

wait are leg extensions bad ?? (i'm new to the gym and do them sometimes)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2) Athlene-X is good youtube channel for this stuff. If I was still gymming I'd check out his vids.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not horrific in a "your leg will explode" kind of way. Just bad for the joint and there's no reason to isolate the quads like that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can feel the screws holding my knee together popping and grinding just watching this.

9 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 4

The ones in my femoral neck can totally relate to that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have screws in both knees too! 10 years out and I still panic at metal detectors lol

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same. Screws and a plate. Shits all blown out again, too and needs reworked. This makes me cringe.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My knee still can't straighten out, but I can imagine my quads wouldn't like this workout

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What happened your knee? I broke my femur and they opted not to put in pins. I think I would have fared better with pins

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Broke my leg in 7 places it accordioned under the front seat. Foots still turned out @ 45º >. Recovered and tore my ACL in football.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Holy crap. Please mind yourself. That sounds horrific

1 guy died and I almost did 2. It was his 3rd DUI (we didn't know). We were yelling for him to pull over, before the wreck. He did 15 yrs.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was too drunk to drive so I called for a ride, the guy who picked us up blew a .22 after hitting a pole at 80. It was horrible. Don't D&D

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aw man that's awful. I'm so sorry, my broken femur is suddenly not so bad!! Good luck with your recovery!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ow my knees.

9 years ago | Likes 382 Dislikes 7

Mine too

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't even high bar squat without my knees feeling iffy. This scares me.

Haha, never noticed the MN shirts!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No no that feels nice. Keep going.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

He knew what he was doing. People are extraordinarily aware of their sense of touch. I'm just confused why the hell he did that lol

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Her feet are straight and spine looks neutral. Proper form should prevent injury

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 3

Her knees aren't over her feet when she starts the lift.

She is losing the "spring tension" of the lift and therefore shifting the shear force from her quads (good) to her knee joints (bad).

No, not if your form is as good as hers

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Not really, if it's the joint's intended direction, Oly lifters squat bellow parallel all the time

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Good to know

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right? Looks Hella unsafe for those ACLs

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 9

I don't think you know how acls work

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

Enlighten us.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They keep your leg from hyper extending, doesn't look like her legs are in any danger of that

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

That's actually false, too. They prevent anterior translation of the tibia on the femur.
