'Bout damn time!

19 years old and I passed my NREMT on my second shot. I was ready to give up after I heard I failed the first time. But I sucked it up, studied my ass off, and did it. Now I'm a good mix of nerves and excitement as I apply for my first job as an EMT. Wish me luck imgur family!

Congrats, after 20 years, they'll send you a gold certificate. Seriously, welcome to the best-worst-rewarding-heartbreaking job!

Be sure to have that 'second try' attitude when the defibrillator doesn't revive the old guy first time out

Keep your national throughout your career, always wear your PPE, and try your hardest to find a Local union that takes care of its people.

Congrats!!! California EMT in IFT here, just know that if you're in either IFT or 911, you're still helping save a life no matter what.

If you're ever in an accident and some yells, "Call 911!", please, promptly say, "I am 911." Thank you

My buddy's husband was an emt. It can be emotionally crippling if you have a hard time reaching out.

It takes a certain type, I could not do it. But still your buddy's hubby is saving lives. I respect that. I have never been able to do that.

If this helps you at all . when I was an EMT I remained calm in every situation NO matter how bad and remember your not the one hurt and 1/2

They need you

I assume this is nremt-b? Find a job with good medical and a 401k/403b.

Paramedics are no longer classified as EMTs. Now it is NRP (nationally registered paramedic). So EMT-B for basic or AEMT for advanced.

As an Australian, what's the difference between the them??? You

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Paramedics are still EMTS. It's now EMT, AEMT and EMT-P

I was under the impression that the EMT had been dropped from Medic. I could be wrong though. Just got my AEMT and I saw it as NRP.

Not in America according to the national standard.
