They don't work? They still need to eat. Drain on taxpayers? I'm ok paying for people to eat. Fraud and abuse? I'd be ok feeding a dozen people even if one of them can afford it on their own. Undocumented immigrants? GOTO 10, they still need to eat.

Food stamps, SNAP are an Ag/farm price support program firstly- with the side benefit of fighting hunger in the richest country in human history.

But, but that is not what they want you to believe

Something something facts don't care about your feelings, right? Right?

Myths = Lies

The ones that present you these myths will call FAKE NEWS when presented with the facts.

It... does. If these numbers are correct. How is that a "dog whistle"?

The second point is easily the most important from a cold logic viewpoint. Keeping people down to where survival is a struggle stifles society and it's potential.

It's the most basic function of a society. People banding together to make sure everyone gets taken care of. How do people not get this? "Everybody eats" is a ridiculously low bar, and yet some people still have a problem with it.

Military families receive SNAP benefits. That's a fact that is the most damning of all.

4 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yeah the perks of enlisting doesn't really do anything for the cost of daily expenses.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's relatively uncommon for military families to be eligible for SNAP. WIC, on the other hand, is much more common because they exclude the housing allowance from the income limit, which is a fairly significant portion of a servicemember's income.

Another little-known fact - the average snap benefit is something like $180 a month per person - $6 fucking dollars a day to live on. The average taxpayer contributes $36 per year to cover this. Personally, I think it's money well spent to ensure someone has enough food to eat.

that doesn't stop FOX Propaganda from outright lying to their viewers -- and they're allowed to since we got rid of the laws keeping them from doing it.

For fucking real. I've been hearing this lie my entire life. It's fucking insane that we let an entire wing of the media just fire up their transmitters every day and broadcast complete and total lies.

I'm not pro censorship by the government by any stretch, but surely we can do SOMETHING here from a legal perspective!? Like how is it okay in our society to just license airwaves and fucking lie, constantly???

SNAP honestly shouldn't exist for someone working full time hours. The moment someone working 40 hours a week needs SNAP, that should immediately trigger a minimum wage hike until they make enough money working 40 hours a week to not also need food assistance. You should not be able to trade 40 hours a week of your life for so little money that you can't eat - that is slavery, and anyone supporting it is supporting slavery.

Yeah, but sometimes they used their SNAP funds to buy SODA or god forbid POTATO CHIPS! https://media2.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTY1YjkxZmJlaWVlbnE0MTBsZjUxeWhtOWhieG16cWd1dTRud3cxMjRncTM4eDN4NSZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/ENt72LgUE2gV2/200w.mp4

The people that complain about the poors taking advantage of a system while watching their politicians post multi-million dollar returns on the stock market and their dear leader grifting a crypto coin and other shit... it just boggles the mind

Right wingers invent facts just to be nasty.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Don’t dignify their “talking points” with the label “facts”.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn, if right-wingers cared about facts, they'd be really upset right now.

4 months ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 1

I care about facts, but I also like a source to go along with those facts.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They probably do, they just don't care.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If right-wingers cared about facts, they wouldn't be right-wingers.

Nah. "But the money goes to *those* people."

That's all it boils down to. My work accepts SNAP. Every time one of my chud ass coworkers complains about someone using a SNAP card, it's because they're not the right shade of beige. They rarely if ever complain if it's someone the same shade of mayo as them. And the coworkers think I'm a fellow traveller, since I'm similarly pasty. Unlike them, however, I'm all about people getting food on their table. The only "those" people I'm against getting

government assistance, tax breaks, and sweetheart deals are the motherfucking oligarchs who're robbing all of us fucking blind. The amount in tax cuts, assistance, and other deals given to the richest scumfucks vastly out numbers anything "given" to us.

Vast majority of them work, they work for extremely profitable corporations, and they live in Red States

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*cough* Wal-mart, Coca-cola *cough*

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty much any large corp that uses red states to run factories.
Boeing moved stuff down there to get around unions in WA. Food packing plants for junk food and so on. All fucking over people who due to generational abuse of them dont have much choice but to take the company jobs and live paycheck to paycheck.
I fucking hate capitalism and how people fight for the system that oppresses them.

Could I get a sauce, plz? Gotta have more than a graph to show some people, even if they're like "those numbers aint accurate because Fox said so"
