Terrance Howard was a crap Rhodes and he would be an even worse Kang. Dude is a crap actor and a horrible person. He lied about having a chemical engineering degree from a school that doesn't even offer them. He's beaten two of his wives, and assaulted a flight attendant for telling him to sit down when the seat belt light was on. He doesn't deserve such a powerful and important role in the MCU.

Holy crap you're right. Years and years this has bugged me every time I see this shot, but you just solved it. The "unconnected" chains are extra slack and the other two chains are what's actually holding it.

This guy played Rhodey in Ironman but was recast due to a compensation dispute. Perhaps a mistake, Rhodey turned out to be a huge role appearing in more movies than many name characters. Now, 20yrs later, Kang's actor was fired and the role is being recast. It'd be funny if this guy was given the role.

Easiest mistake they ever made. I'm a huge nerd and I don't give a fuck about continuity, they traded up because Howard thought he was hot shit. You understand how much he got paid for iron man alone? That's live the rest of your life money. Much less the rest of Rhodey's arc. Which BTW one of my favorites and guess what it took. He showed up for the important scenes and then green screened some helmet shit. Easy money.

Yeah, in hindsight it's obvious. But I'm giving him the benefit of doubt. Back then, there was no MCU. It was just a couple Hulk movies and then this Ironman, with a drug addict as the lead. Heck, Marvel didn't even own the movie rights to their best-selling piece, Spider-Man. I could see how working with Marvel back then was a career risk.
