Just pray he doesn't have a stoke and suddenly turn into a republican.

I'm pretty such Trump only one by underhanded tactics.
Invalidating Ballots, etc etc.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Shoulda voted when it mattered

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Yeah dont even - you WILL have to fight each and every appointment. Undo each and every bill. And EVEN THEN, the damage done might not be

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

repairable in a lot of instances. Hes still got another 3.5 YEARS. The USA may well be destroyed far before then.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You really think winning Congress is going to do anything? The executive branch already ignores the Judicial branch, it'll just ignore the Legislative branch too.

And that assumes elections will be free and fair, and that the winners of those elections will be seated.

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Special elections are not idicators for national elections. Some Repub said the other day Repubs just don't vote in Specials.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That might be true, but it also might be a bullshit excuse for losing

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even if we haven't already backslid into dictatorship and the dems manage to flip everything in 2026, I have almost zero faith they'll do anything to slow the collapse.

That being said, they're still the solid choice above the alternative. Just dissatisfying as hell

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Primary any Democrat you isn't willing to fight. If elections matter, it's the only way to make progress.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a little dopamine drip. Feels good for a moment. And then it wears off, because you realize that there's a chance we may not even have a 2026 election.

Let me put it this way: Donald Trump is breaking boundaries, policies, and laws left and right. And while election boards are bipartisan, swing states are of hot contention right now. The right-wing are consumed with keeping power. And they've been enacting laws to undermine left-wing voting power. The final straw? Ballot counting.

10 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

There will absolutely be an election. What's in question is how accurate anyone can trust the results to be.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe you thought there's no way Trump could get elected again in 2024? That's howI thought. We were wrong. Now you're wrong again thinking Dems will sweep the midterms. MAGA is more tied to Trump than ever. Many liberals are wondering if Democrats can do anything more than a "strongly worded letter." We see Schumer leading a group of Dems voting for Trump policies! WTF! Trump is a maniac but he appears strong. Dems appear weak & helpless. Democrats need to Do Something! Now! Or else we all lose

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I have a feeling that trump will declare martial law and cancel the mid-term elections.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it would be wonderful to see a blue wave in the 2026 midterms but i'm betting that there will be so much vote rigging going on that even if they cannot cancel the election no one will be able to trust the results. it will be held up in the courts so long that the 2028 elections will come up before they are decided. UNLESS the GOP find a way to cancel the midterms altogether and you can bet they are working on it in the backrooms right now.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Get angrier, people. Especially any white folks who are now realizing Trump meant it when he said he doesn't give a fuck about them.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One down... but still an awful lot to go.

10 months ago | Likes 150 Dislikes 0

And keep in mind that one down is in the state senate, not the national Senate. But any progress is good.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Of course. Wake me when it's a national Senate or Congressional seat. I don't care about state houses or mayors right now.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or they cheated

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Um, we believe the polls… are we allowed to review the polls?

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it’s one at a time like this, it might work. Rigging an election is hard to hide on a small scale event

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I should think so. But I thought so in 2024, and 2020 (where it was undeservedly close), and 2016. Hell, I thought it in 2000 and 2004, for that matter...

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope its a bloodbath. But just a small one. A single bath of blood. From just one guy.

Nobody should.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Will it matter in the end? Doomsday is upon us (or the US for sure anyway)...and it seems even the Dems are voting with the shitstains now too. They see the end...fuck it, show me the money, I want to retire and live somewhere warm and cozy while the peasants kill each other!

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

and then they get whatever the numbers necessary and decide not to impeach

10 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 4

There will never be 67 Dems in the Senate to convict. And we all know every last Republican is owned or has komprimat on them

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dems: Guys now is the time to come together as a country.
Trump: I will literally murder you all.
Dems: we need to focus on the good things this administration has done.
MAGA: Lord Trump has spoken!
Dems: No presidency is perfect, but though hard work we can do what's best for the American people.
Trump: I have nothing left to lose, revenge is all I have.

10 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Dems: We're going to draft a sternly worded letter

10 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

FYI there's 22 Republican Senators up for re-election next year. The Democrats essentially hold 47 seats assuming you count Sanders and King as reliable Democratic votes even though they aren't Democrats. So the Ds need to win 20 of 22 Republican seats and hold every single seat they have now. It would be like winning Powerball. That's for removal though. I expect them to get enough House votes next year to bring a third impeachment to the floor and win it.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I legitimately would not count on a free and fair election my man. Even if it's not strictly illegal means they will bend the system to their will as much as possible until they don't need to worry about elections at all anymore.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely all measures will be taken to ensure that repubs stay in office through eternity. Plugging a hole in your boat means little to nothing when the captain is steering for the closest reef.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One down more to go.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Can't paint a ship while it is sinking"

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Fine. Then make a real, serious effort to plug the leaks. If you're not willing to do that, then claiming the people criticizing you are only worried about the paint job is self-serving nonsense. If the ship is actually sinking, someone whose idea of being helpful is standing by idly while bragging about how they're not actively drilling new holes in the hull is not meaningfully better than someone who IS drilling holes - the ship will sink either way.

Very good and useful election win. Important to clarify that this is a state senate seat, where democrats outnumber republicans 2:1, and does not necessarily have significant bearing on national events.

10 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Also important to note that "flipped" is inaccurate; this seat was previously held by a democrat, which the article explains but the tweet does not reflect.

10 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

True, but also worth bearing in mind that the incumbent was Democrat like Sinema or Manchin was, basically, if the wind was blowing in the right direction.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Fair point. I'm not familiar with the previous seat holder's voting record, as he did not represent my district, but there have been problems in the past within NY state's legislature of conservative moderates running under the democratic ticket. It's definitely still good news, just confusing as to why the tweet characterizes it both as "shocking" and "flipped," when neither of those claims are true at face value.

capitalists, as always, are the true enemy.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have zero faith in the Democrats doing anything useful and even though they *should* sweep the floor in 2026, I don't think they will. They will self-sabotage in the name of the Gerontocracy and their stock portfolios like usual.

10 months ago | Likes 244 Dislikes 27

What is this "Gerontocracy" you speak of? It's not like three House Democrats over 70 have died since the new Congress was sworn in or something.

*checks notes*

Oh. Oh no...

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At which point the residents of that district will say "welp, we gave the Dems a chance and nothing changed, might as well go back to our comfortable party that tells us it's okay be racist".

Giant Meteor 2026

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Not doing anything useful is still > destroying our economy, democracy, safety and freedom. Everything good in this country since the 1980s have come from democrats, everything bad has come from republicans.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Everything good may have come from Democrats, but the GOP aren't the only ones responsible for bad things. Dems help out with those regularly, don't get roll them back (consistently, completely, or sometimes at all) when they take power, and sometimes do bad things all by themselves. And in any case, they make sure no one who'd do better gets a chance to try, so even if they weren't helping shift the country rightwards with a one-way ratchet, it'd still be a real problem.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ok I’ll bite, what bad things have democrats done?

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gavin Newsom: did someone say self-sabotage?

10 months ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 2

Seriously what the fuck happened with him. I thought he was decent, and he was even somebody I thought would be a contender to take over after Biden stepped back and now he's completely backpedaled and betrayed his constituents.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

democrat self sabotage: did someone say pete buttigiege?

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 42

Now provide proof of that.

10 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

It's ours to lose, so it's important to consider what it will take to win or lose it. If we depress our supporters with defeatist language, all that does is help the other side. I know it feels good to express frustration, and have that feeling echoed by others, but consider the overall effect of your messaging, and if it helps or hurts the cause. Never give up, never surrender!

10 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 6

You must express frustrations and argue loudly or else nothing will ever change. The democrats suck shit and should be better. Blind faith and obedience and taking the attitude that criticism is defeatism makes you no better than the red hats. Demand more.

10 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Absolutely demand more, make the comments anger and drive for better. If the only message is "they are going to fail and I'm going to be sad" that helps no one. Make the message "I am going to yell until they change and get better". I support feelings and reality, I just want us to encourage action, not preemptive defeat.

Who needs inspiring leaders when we can instead have loyal ladder-climbers?

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not new. Good ole Bernie repeatedly getting screwed out of nominations. But nope, no need to listen to the masses. Decorum and politics as usual. Let's pick the least popular candidates because age or party control, instead of finding the candidate that can get people to show up to vote.
Kamala was unpopular when picked VP. 4 years of shit didn't improve her popularity.
I don't blame the Dems for what the corrupt are now doing, but I do blame them for squandering their opportunities!

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I didn't say it was new, only that this latest example is just so infuriating.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A man with 2 impeachments, 34 fellonies, and a violent insurection under his belt. And the democrats just let that slide for 4 years. And they will do it again if it means getting a single conservative to vote for them.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The Democrats appointed a guy who was too cautious, but he was cautious in part because it was an unprecedented investigation and would set the tone for any future investigations of other presidents.

They were really counting on having another year or two to finish it, but the public abandoned them because too many people refused to vote for a woman.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Of colour. Both parts are likely relevant.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

True

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't get complacent. This is an uphill battle.

10 months ago | Likes 501 Dislikes 0

Fuck off

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 13

This was one of the last battles that the Democrats can still win in this war, as the RapepubliKKKans will put more and more restrictions on voting in place. They were not quick enough for these elections, but if they are not stopped, there will be no more free and fair elections. And there is only one way left to stop them.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This.

We can celebrate the win, and we should; it shows that we are able to make headway... but it's one battle in an ongoing war.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I keep hearing "it's a marathon, not a sprint" and it's so true.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We are all Sisyphus in this fight, it will never end at least not in our life times but we need to keep fighting and pushing the boulder up the hill

10 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

If dems don’t take back the house in 2026, I genuinely believe Trump will never leave office.

10 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Never is a long time.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they're fast-tracking the ability to arrest congress members and judges. And they still haven't brought back the folks that were here legally that ICE shipped off w/o due process even though courts said they should. What they've learned is they can just keep pushing and nobody pushes back. So, the chances of them leaving even if they lose the elections is next to zero. We'll need a military coup to make it happen, or folks marching in the streets in numbers so great to not be ignored.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Even if they do, he will try to remain in office.
Remember, vermin stays. It has to be exterminated.

10 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

It’s not that, it’s that if dems take the house, they can stop him from essentially overturning the constitution. Also the speaker of the house has a lot of power when it comes to certifying the president, so let’s say it’s the current speaker, a complete Trump stooge, and Trump runs for a third term and wins, his guy might just let it go through. If it’s a dem as speaker of the house, then it’s not going to happen.

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

We will see.
It won't be the first, nor last, time that the Dems snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

10 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

If it's a corpo. milquetoast Dem like Hakeem Jefferies, I can see them rolling over.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I appreciate your optimism. It certainly won't be the first, but it could definitely be the last.
