Is it possibly be tires are buoyant enough to keep the car floating at all times?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it going backwards?

Most of the real rc cars made today can do this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They do it on a full sized cars and bikes too.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How ivan?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jesus apparently took the wheel.

DELS! This is in Rhode Island! Man, I miss that fucking frozen lemonade.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one to catch that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Surprisingly several of these trucks would remain buoyant at idle. Add brushless power and you got a boat

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

With high mAh Lipo batteries (often 2 in a car) makes them too heavy to remain buoyant at idle.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on the truck and tires. This truck easily would sink if sitting still, but (specially with paddles) would breeze over the water.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My stampede used to float with sealed tires. But it wasnt brushless and wouldn't be remarkable in the water... And not waterproof either.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Daaaaayummmm!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's not floating, it's driving so fast that it creates a layer of pure speedforce under the tyres.

@MyPenisIsBigInSomeCountries Is that a Traxxas Bigfoot or Slash by chance??! ;)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ours is a slash 4x4, that looks like a big-foot.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I think you're right! We should totally try this with our Slash @ the lake by Mom's house!! ;))

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

It's a Traxxas X-maxx .I tried this about 15 years ago with an HPI Nitro Rush. It's still at the bottom of Mission Viejo lake I'd presume

9 years ago | Likes 155 Dislikes 1

MV represent!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I did it across a small pond with my JATO once but it was a really shallow pond just in case

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

HPI...that wasn't cheap.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Is the Traxxas x-maxx (bit much on the 'x's) naturally buoyant? Or just enough air to keep is semifloating. Or it's actually sheer speed

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Big air filled tires and speed. Those tires are spinning so fast that it hydroplanes but will sink if it slows too much, flips, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Is that San Diego County?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Orange County

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I won't even do this with my slash, way too risky

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The slash is also a lot bigger and heavier. I would risk my brushless bandit or rustler any time

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The slash is 1/10th scale. The Xmaxx is 1/5th. Slash is tiny.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually x Maxx and slash are available in many different scales. I saw 1/5 : 1/6 : 1/8 : 1/10 and 1/16 online.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually, you're wrong. There's only one X-maxx. Yeah, there areonly two scales to the Slash, but nobody cares about 1/16th.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then there are the t-maxx and e-maxx at 1/10th scale.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just don't let off the throttle because that shit will sink like a rock... a very expensive rock..........Well maybe a semi-expensive rock.

9 years ago | Likes 621 Dislikes 3

The expensive petrol/diesal powered RC cars a super light and super powerful

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on your budget. For Bill Gates it would sink like a cheap rock.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

$950, Traxxas X-Maxx. 20-30 lbs. 50mph.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No problem. Just take a snowmobile to go down and get it.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

800$ roughly? I live by Traxxas

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

air filled tires, mate.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a kid I had a amphibious RC Car, it wasn't this fast in the water, but it was at least 10y ago. IIRC it wasn't too expensive.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Semi-expensive rock was my nick name in highschool

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was thinking the same thing, but I'd bet those tires are pneumatic.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thousand dollar minitruck...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its an E-maxx, it definitely floats

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Not an E-maxx. X-maxx. Only Video I know of https://www.facebook.com/MHORRC/videos/731037527074902/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Traxxas 8s X-Maxx?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Probably float but, float tires up. Ruined anyways.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

*anyway

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How heavy is a good rc? They have disproportionately large tires so they could possibly float.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

I have a nitro powered rc and it is a heavy beast. It definitely would not float even with it's large tires

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The plastic chassis/shell is packed with foam noodles

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The battery is a heavy fecker (about 2lbs/1 kilo for a car that size). If petrol engine they're not as heavy, but still a fair bit. 1/

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2/ Also there's not much air in the tires really

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Had a baja, it was 8kg...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Baja is gas powered 1/4 scale. My 1/8 buggy was around 4 kilos with 6s 6000mah lipo. 1/8 and 1/10 are normal sizes för RC.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I have a nitro RC but the tires aren't inflated

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Share? I had electric and really want to get a nitro one

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not a really good one, I was just a kid and went for a cheap one: Kyosho Inferno MP7.5 sports 3 (right out of my head lol)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Heavy enough to sink. Most off-road tires are vented to let water drain as they have foam in the tire.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

I exploded my tires because I went to fast on road... fun time!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless he built it himself

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Foam floats super well.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Until you fill it with water, getting rid of the air. By itself it still floats, but can't hold anything else up.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

...are we thinking of a different type of foam? Because there are a lot of foam pool toys that float, even with weight on them. The foam

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're minerals, Marie, semi-precious minerals!

9 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 0

My cousin used to do this on his snowmobile, then one day his engine choked or something and it sunk to the bottom of the lake
